"Hatred of the good for being the good, is the hallmark of the twentieth century. This is the enemy you are facing. A battle of this kind requires special weapons. It has to be fought with a full understanding of your cause, a full confidence in yourself, and the fullest certainty of the moral rightness of both." Ayn Rand

It is really really sad and it's manipulative and ever since America started doing business with China after Mao died, I was only 10 years old and I knew it was evil. I new the American companies in the American businesses were absolutely wrong and there was no way China was ever going to be a capitalist country.. America's capitalism wasn't going to run over on China because if something good hangs around something filthy and corrupt the good will get corrupt!! Not everybody in America and not every politician and not every business did but a lot of them did. that's why I hear in America we have all kinds of politicians like Joe Biden and his family doing business in China and other corrupt countries around the world getting pay for policy deals since he was vice president.. I haven't seen proof of wrongdoing during his first term as vice president but I have sent 2012 and 2013! The only thing I have from his first four years as VP was the last year before they were re-elected. I don't think Obama was in it but Obama apparently knew about it and didn't stop Joe..
I would have because it's against the law and it's not if it's your family members in business with another country unless as a representative of the country.. the only time a representative is held accountable for money that one of their family members got from doing business with a dirty country is when that family member is a representative in government and they benefit from it even if they weren't in business with them .
I saw China calling America friends and I never believed a word they said and I was just a kid.. they gave the American politicians and businesses and up a rope to hang themselves and they got good policy out of it and our stupid country here since all of our manufacturing jobs and allowed the companies to go over to China in the 1990s and then after 2001 a lot of our pharmaceutical industry companies wanted to go to China for cheap labor and taxes over there. George Bush let pharmaceutical companies go over there so they can all get cheap labor and pay cheap taxes..
It's pure business breed but it's taking jobs and manufacturing and industrialization out of America which was how America became a wealthy country and was able to help our allies defeat Nazism in World War II along with Japan imperialism... There's no way our country can do that now because too much of our Trane supply is in China and we don't even have the ships that we did at the time to ship things and it would take a year to build what they recycled from our old shipping industry. All of these renewable jobs Joe Biden and Obama sent over to China. Sad..
I can't stand windmills because they kill innocent animals but I don't have any problem with solar panels but I think we should use all energy sources and definitely drill because our oil and gas is cleaner in America than anywhere else in the world but Joe Biden doesn't want us to drill. I don't understand why he wants dirty fuel from Venezuela when we have that much cleaner here.
I don't understand these people.. I'm an environmentalist and I can't stand our government and how it's destroyed because of all the mass immigration by the millions and millions...
They keep spending money in DC and there's no way they can pay back this deficit so they're trying to do this digital currency thing... I'm not sure what they're wanting to benefit out of it except to be able to control what Americans buy and they can't take away our second amendment rights but if we go to purchase a gun or ammunition or cigarettes which is something Joe wants to forbid then they can always decline the purchase..
That's about as Marxist as you can get.

Where the hell did she get these batshit ideas? Where, and who in what country ever said or did this? Her entire way of thinking was formed in the Soviet Union. Any mental health professional would tell you her fundamental belief that collectivism in any form is evil is a natural result of her personal experience. Her philosophy is fundamentally illogical because it would only function in society if all citizens ‘collectively’ participated in living objectivism. The alternative is anarchy. Logic bomb dropped. Collectivism is necessary for survival. In what form that collectivism takes changes over time, but it’s fundamental to human existence. Rands corruption of words such as altruism and collectivism is the foundation of her ‘philosophy’. I found none of her basic assumptions valid , nor are they in any way reasonable. How can she claim to know how we should behave when she has fundamentally misunderstood how and why humans do what we do?

ok. But you must see that since the west began to trade with China, the Chinese population’s standard of living has improved dramatically. Many Chinese citizens have contributed significantly to the world at large. If the US never made the first move, China would instead be more like North Korea, and you can bet the Iron Curtain would still be up. Geopolitics are complicated. Only people with their grey matter atrophied would think that you can summarize a political philosophy with a single concept.

I know Christians hate to see people starve but that led to very likely led to the Great depression. Oh my gosh how awful.. Americans in government can be corrupt but they can also have good hearts and little bitty brains....

As someone born in USSR (now Baltics) around year before Glastnostj, of corse i approve of this take. All relatives and many friends on my mother's side were sent to Siberia 1945-1947, to gulags or otherwise, some where born in Blagoveshchensk. My grandmother was taken from school by NKVD at age 17 and sentenced to 10 years hard labour. She was 6 moths pregnant when she and my granddad returned with destroyed health after amnesty from Hrushchev in 1958, as released from gulag to settlement not long before. They were prohibited to resettle in capital or previously popular tourist seaside towns or get any job connected to administration. Hunger was common for repressed, if friends didn't come to help at first.
And despite learning history from books that came out for the very first time (started school 1990) in new republic, still feel like hit on the head like a historic club eith this blunt, western modern lense recount, very correct and telling, of relations between US and USSR. The reasons why this happened are between the lines. And these details were not (yet or ever) included in textbook curriculum.
If you'd only new what hogwash was concocted to teach to my parents in 60s-80s.. Wait a minute! If you ever visited tankie far left and far right attracting content even just in ol'YT comment threads, you know some myths and bits of it already. People from ex-Soviet block who are still nostalgic, glorifying it and repeating the propaganda history (which they should have at least partly forgotten in 30-40 years in minority case of actually learning it during USSR) are called by accepted term even in english "Homo Sovieticus".
Those adapting this garbage in the 'West', tankies everywhere and others repeating these myths, don't deserve even this acclamation. They just heard extrapolations, both for internal comsumption and Western tankie version, from Putin's new school textbook. You can find description of it (and reasonable critics and reactions) on white-blue-white Russian scattered exile opposition activist channels. Maikl Naki, Dozdj and many others, Russian exiled historians included, have some great insights about that. It's from communist version 'Goebbels' origins, but 'glory' myth has become something else and even more far from reality than 40 years ago. Actually hatemongering fascist mantras.
It's both chilling and repulsing to see one or other of these versions parroted by modern Marxism sympathisers, Lenin and Stalin revisionists and sympathisers in rapidly increasing numbers - again right here on YT. The far-right rashism sympathyser and softist minion ignorance and new black-propaganda based ravings about their 'conservative, christian friend Russia' are eating at 'West' resistance to infowar designed to destroy it - from both edges. Therefore the remaining politically and historically active people living in democracies (and also autocracies) must resist divisions to survive.
Today the threat is both from outside and inside, but anti-'West' axis goal is not the victory of marxism or communism, it's the repackaged neo-fascism known as "4th political theory". Neo-marxists just consciously or unsuspectingly are manipulated to aid that cause. Not only that, as this new kind of fascism is prepared to ally with theocratic and communistic 'enemies of their enemies'. All of them are really salivating for a piece of power stripped from 'Western hegomony', which is a false term, but even translating the term correctly - it's actually already over.
Welcome to the post-fact, post-truth digital world. Thanks for being factual and blunt in this, Nikos!

Actually the opposition to Stalin by western communists began in 1928 after reading The Draft Program of the Communist International: A Criticism of Fundamentals By Leon Trotsky long before Soviet tanks rolled in the Soviet Zone of Occupation in 1953 Germany. They were James Cannon of the United States and Maurice Spector of Canada delegates to the 6th Congress of the Communist International. "The Militant" has published the truth since 1928.

Altruism is not the problem in the west, foolishness is. If you really love wicked people, sometimes you will hand them over to God (i.e. allow your government to kill them). God can do for the wicked, what we cannot. It’s time we stopped being so weak. “If anything be against justice, it cannot be called mercy, for it is cruelty.” - George MacDonald

I think that when he lists the naivety of the US and helping the communist, it is important to understand that the US has for the last 75 years, believed that it needed an evil opponent. I know this sounds crazy but since politicians work for their largest donors and war has always made the most money (until big pharma)) the most money a company can make that makes war material is to have a continuous war. The problem is that the public would have never put up with the death toll of a continuous war so they did the next best thing, and Russia was the perfect country. So isolated that you can create an image at home that made them into the scariest of enemy but never fight one on one. This is why the political class came out after The fall of the USSR with the idea that we needed a 2nd super power in the world. We needed a bad guy so they could keep us scared "$hitless" so the money would keep rolling in. It does not surprise me that the US helped then because the politicians are doing this same thing today.

Pres Eisenhower tried to warn us about the Military Industrial Complex (MIC)but we did not listen to him. Our current political system where our representatives have very short terms, and they depend on money from the MIC to get reelected is a disaster. We are up to our necks in debt, our infrastructure is obsolete, and the people we have sent to Washington care about one thing, themselves. The US taxpayer works 7 months for a beurocracy of one type or another. The Jews rebelled against the Romans because they were forced to give Rome 2 days wages. Our government bleeds the working man and woman dry to pay for military hardware, and vaccines we need because of the biological weapons we paid the Chinese to create.

I found this talk profoundly valuable, but I'm going to push back hard against one sentence: the first one ("the most significant event in the history of the twentieth century: the victory of communism in Russia and the establishment of the Soviet Union.").
The Soviet Union was responsible for hundreds of millions of human lives destroyed and murdered, and i doubt the ripples of devastation emanating there from can be accurately calculated. But consider the Haber-Bosch process of turning air into fertilizer. A conservative estimate indicates that a billion people would not have lived but for this one chemist and one engineer. Those people include Lise Meitner, Albert Einstein, and Max Plank. We owe them (and consequentially Haber and Bosch) the ability to convert the smallest bit of matter into the power of a sun: the power to produce food, wealth and knowledge. Such power outshines even the black hole that was the Soviet Union.

I just discovered this channel recently. Great stuff. I have only read one of Ayn Rand's books. I have since downloaded more to my Kindle.
The comments about Hoover's attitude, expecting to be able to show the Soviets how it is done, and expecting them to appreciate it is just what happened with China in the last 30 or so years. The expectation was that China would become wealthier, and then would demand democracy, the rule of law and all that. The same mistake.
Actually, there are people who are calling for democracy, etc. now. I don't know how widespread that is. But this is not because they have become rich (overall), but because the CCP system is falling apart. The commies think they can sustain their economy by themselves, even though everyone knows that it was built with foreign capital.
They can see how rich the west is. They see how rich Taiwan is. Frankly, the commies are jealous and afraid.

Nikos stated his insight: The reason the West helps or bails out enemies who want to destroy them, is at foundation, an effort to obey the Mt 5:44 directive of Jesus, to "Love your enemies, bless ... do good ... pray for those who ... persecute you." If this indeed is the motive, the leaders of groups in the West should be instructed that Jesus's Mt 5:44 directive was towards individuals, on how they as individuals should treat individuals who were their enemies. Jesus's directive is not a directive to a collection of Christians, or to any group, on how to treat enemies, either as an individual enemy or a collective of enemies. The first reason is, receiving anything good from a collection of anonymous people does not compare with receiving same thing from an individual. Charity is only charity when administered by an individual to another individual. What anonymous members of groups do, to anonymous members of another group, is whole nother thing. The 2nd reason that Mt 5:44 does not apply to collectives, is because it is far easier to act as a member of a group, than it is to act alone. Members of a group are MISTAKEN, if they think that the acts of one collective to another collective, that appear to be in accordance with Mt 5:44, are counted as obedience to Christ by individuals in the acting collective, by Christ.

Sotirakipolous makes a couple of unsupported statements right at the beginning. He says with the Soviet Union there wouldn't have been Communist China, and there wouldn't have been leftist movements in Latin America. As far as China, Stalin went back and forth on China, first telling the Chinese Communist Party to lay down their arms and surrender to Chaing Kai-Shek, then going completely overboard in the other direction. Given his reversals in policy towards the CCP, one could easily make the case that Mao just ignored the Russian Communist Party. As far as Latin America, the cause of the leftist rebellions there wasn't the Soviet Union. The driving force behind Latin American leftists was the wish to free themselve from the yoke of the USA. Even Castro, who was a communist, was more of a national liberationist than a servant of Moscow.

Professor Sotirakopoulos seems to conclude that all altruism, at least at the politcal level, is foolish. These failures might have more to do with the intelligence and poor judgment of those in politics than a problem with altruism itself. Surely we can be circumspect about our charity, particularly when it can be a potentially good investment.

And it's the same with Israel. The same Bibel, the same morality. The same problems (hate instead of insight). It's a proof that humanity without the biblical standards is evil.

No it doesn't because the opposition to Israel come from Hamas who are lead by Billionaire capitalist hiding out in Qatar. Hamas roots are in German Fascism and Grand Mufti of Jerusalem appointed by British who becomes an ally of Hitler and German raising a fascist Militia. NAZI's leaders were all "Rational Minds" that tested high on IQ tests.
