I started reading opm because I thought it would be funny. It was, but I stayed because I understand the story. Saitama is a hero for fun. But every person that he saved, he changed their life for the better. Because the more you read, the more you realize Saitama, is more of a hero than 99% of the heroes. Funny thing is, I think Mumen rider(which I think is the direct opposite of saitama) has the best mentality of a hero, but he's pretty much a punching bag with zero power in a world full of planetary level monsters, so poor dude lol. One of the most underlooked aspects of his character is his struggles, he doesn’t feel most emotions, notable ones he does is annoyance. Imagine a life where your always annoyed. It sure is lonely at the top

The only time he felt actual anger for someone's death was when garous killed genos.
The thing I like about Saitama is that he is the best of both worlds. At face value he is a gag character so people who want simplicity will find him fun. But at the same time he definitely has character depth so those who are into analyzing stories and characters are not left out. This is one of the reasons why manga and anime are wonderful
