But in terms of writing Saitama has way more depth and is more of a complex character. That doesn't take away from Goku. Goku is chill and likeable guy but in terms of writing yea he falls behind.

This fight got badass only after Garou slaughtered Genos in front of his eyes, which was Saitamas only friend. You can see how much he cares about Genos as he actually wants to avenge his friend.
There was no guilt for the entity that killed untold amounts of lives for his satisfaction, only despair that the Universe's supposed "Strongest" fell to the pressure of a Serious Punch only a fraction of his full power.

@@melvin404 Believe it or not, according to the official manga, Saitama has infinite potential, which means that no matter how powerful his opponent, Saitama will always be able to beat him. For the Cameraman it's different because it seems to me that he's omnipotent and omniscient, but I don't know all his abilities, so my opinion isn't very valuable. So in my opinion, if these two characters fight, there's a good chance that the fight will last a very long time before Saitama can surpass the Cameraman. I hope this answer satisfies you :)
