I've found that joining a local group helped with losing weight. It helps keep me accountable, with tracking honestly has really helped a lot. You've been doing really well hitting the gym, and living your life. It's all positive changes!

I think I'm sort of using this channel as my 'local group' at the moment! I will make a note to have a look for any local groups to me which may help, thank you for the advice :)

    Yay for food diary!
I personally use the my fitness pal for food. Basically scan barcode and (when you feel OK to) you can weigh and it calculates the exact amount. But you'll get the exact idea of what calories per serving looks like.
If you find the journey to the gym' not a do' on a day look up walk with Jo as she does cool low impact workouts/cardio to get something in on a day.
Audio books if reading is harder to concentrate. Tend to listen on walks/ walking somewhere.

Yes, I was using My Fitness Pal at the begining of the year, so I'll try that again alongside the physical diary when I'm used to tracking again. I've heard of Walk With Jo, will have to investigate and see if I get on with their style! I've been meaning to look into audiobooks now you get some hours credit with Spotify - will add that to my list of things to try, thank you!

Small improvements all add up. Don't get discouraged, especially if you may have an underlying health issue. Keep going with the journal, its good for data collection, going forward it will give you some insight with food and weight. I can relate to the reading deficiency. I'm the same at the moment. Maybe read some short stories or some poetry if you can't commit to a big book. That helps me out of a slump. Would love to know more about finances cause I haven't a notion. It sounds like overall you've done very well. Life gets busy and not everything gets done. Don't beat yourself up. You seem like a very productive, go-getter. Most people don't reflect on these things at all. You're already ahead of the pack 😊

Thank you for this comment, really appreciate it! I hope that staying more aware of my goals will help me make more progress towards them! Will have to give something smaller a try reading wise. :)

I absolutely understand the weight loss issue. My weight bounces back and forth as well, but I am diabetic and that plays a part in it for me. What's worked best for me is portion control (now my weight bounces in a 5 pound range instead of 20 pound range). Also remember that as you're working out at the gym and putting on muscle that muscle weighs more than fat! And it's natural to reach plateaus as you lose weight, so don't be discouraged! As someone who ate nothing but salad (with 1Tbsp of dressing) for two weeks and GAINED 10 pounds, I absolutely feel your pain lol. You're not alone. Just keep at it and feel good that you are working toward your health and eating better...getting healthier is the most important part.

I'm working on portion control, trying to slowly decrease the sizes so it's not a drastic change. Thank you for the motivation! And I agree, being healthier is the real goal! Best of luck on your novel! It sounds like you've put the work in, just need to do the small task of writing the novel now hahaha! Thanks for your lovely words!

@@sophiemayeveryday I definitely think gradually decreasing portion size is a smart idea! That’s how I did it as well. I think you have every chance of getting to your goals. Just don’t be discouraged from any setbacks. Weight can fluctuate for so many reasons for women (hormones, etc) and it can be disheartening to be doing everything right and not getting the results you deserve. I’m looking forward to seeing you succeed! And thank you for your kind words as well! As I’m working on this novel I’m starting to get brave and am thinking of actually trying to traditionally publish 😂 so now that process is giving me small panic attacks but I think I need to be brave and at least try…the worst case scenario would just be me self publishing anyway so I don’t have anything to lose. Why is this so hard? 😂

I know exactly how you feel re publishing! Worst case scenario is us doing it ourselves but the whole process seems so overwhelming! Hope you're able to work through the panic attacks - they suck so much x

Have you ever tried any of the live reading/productivity/writing sprint things on TH-cam? Bit of a weird idea but I quite enjoy them.

Oh my gosh, yes, I actually did my first one last month via Abbie Emmons channel. It actually really helped me write so I'm going to look for more people who do them more regularly :)

I have struggled with my weight my entire life. Turns out I have cysts on my thyroid and my thyroid is enlarged in every area of it. My thyroid hormone levels are all normal though, so my doctor says that it is not the reason for my weight yo-yoing my whole life. She said I do have some other blood values that may be affecting my weight that have to do with my metabolism but she wants to prescribe me Ozempic for the weight. So far I am hesitant on it because I'm worried about side effects and putting all the weight back on after stopping medications. I have changed my diet which has not done anything different yet. I exercise for at least 60 minutes every day and am at a job with high activity. I track calories and nutrients as well as calories burned, steps taken, and hours I'm up and moving every day. I just wish I could get it figured out because I feel like no matter what I do, I can't keep the weight off. I also am struggling with money due to health emergencies that my pet and I have both struggled with this year. This all has tanked my mental health and I have a hard time finding things I enjoy in life right now. Watching youtube, especially your videos, has really been the main thing I have found that helps me relax at the end of the day. I hope your struggles turn around soon and things start going in the direction you want.

Oh my gosh I'm so sorry for everything you're going through at the moment! My health is a bit of a grey area at the moment and I have to wait a long time for my next appointment to work out what is going on. I wish you all the best going forward, I know it is hard to make decisions re medicine - I share similar hesitations about taking meds for weight loss. I'm so honoured that my videos have helped you to relax, sending you loads of love!
