Thanks for that review, guys! Happy good!
The price is more than alright for the possibilities you can unlock.
I don't think so.
Yep I agree. The ToneX SE software alone is 100 bucks and you'll get that with the pedal.
@@fraenkiboii beside that - if you only need a handful of great 2rd party profiles like Tonejunkie and not the option paralysis of Tonex Max it is a bargain compared to the UAFX pedals and others...
Love hearing the Petrucci riffs!!
I think this will be a great addition to the ToneX : dual amping for real stereo, wet/dry setup, a distortion/fuzz/overdrive modeler with reverb, delay and comp...I think it is a great product.
I already have the big one on my Dadario board with Helix XL. I think I'll also get this one too.
What are your thoughts on the positive grid spark live?
I hope they release soon the "ToneX GO", the portable headphone amp that'll compete with Katana Go, Fender Mustang Micro and NUX MP3 😃
My understanding is you can headphone out from the One.
You could also just get the ik multimedia irig and use it with the TONEX application🤘🏻
@@MiguelGuitars Yes, I had the iRig HD2 but I sold it as I have now another interface, what I mean by doing a portable headphone amp in the same form factor as the Katana GO or NUX is that it could be a self contained portable unit like those but with better amp modeling and they could even combine it with some FX algorithms from their Amplitube line to make it a complete self contained portable battery powered unit that plugs directly to the guitar, I have to travel a lot because of my work (and many people too) and I carry a Traveler guitar and the NUX MP3, that's all I need for a portable solution
@@Alex_MartzThat would be amazing if they did that, I was going to get the Katana: Go but then the Tonex one came out lol
Soooo ... you just buy 3 - 5 of these and put in whatever you want ... done
Super small gig rigs possible now ... love it
Thanks a lot for demoing
🔥
Nice
Tiny and powerful like an acorn. It’s a forest of tones!
Imagine in future if the price, drops to around €100 then you can have a bunch of tone X one pedals as a bunch of boutique pedals 😃
I'd like to use this as an amp-in-the-box for small gigs but then I need to know how the amp models react to the guitar's volume. I'm used to cleaning up the sound with the guitar, getting different gain levels without switching and being able to seamlessly fade overdrive in and out. As good as this thing sounds, if it doesn't do that as well as my humble Katana does, that prolly would be a deal breaker for me. Maybe I'd get the bigger one and have three options instead of two. Or buy two small ones🤔
Would like to know this as well!
This has TRS out but TS input? Is the original the same?
The website says: TRS output: Stereo, dual mono or headphones - I'm guessing TS input - Edit: The website says "Mono input"
@Thomann's Guitars & Basses i would love if j could make a video how to get fix or solve bass and guitar strings that gives u sympathetic buzz on specific fret men fretted. Please i would love to see that
Hey, we made a couple of videos on that subject.

Fix uneven frets: th-cam.com/video/CVFtVAyH6Ng/w-d-xo.html
I hope those help you. //Kris
Can I just put two metal zones in it with different settings?
You can and you should! How one can live without having two different metal zones ready for action at all times is unimaginable to me. 😜 //Kris
@@ThomannsGuitarsBasses I'm convinced and ordered one :D
YUP ... but will it work with a Tele
Everything works with a nice tele, you know that. Haha! //Kris
@@ThomannsGuitarsBasses
... so you took this Paula to prove the new ToneX does work with "problematic" axes too
This IK stuff they are putting out lately seems to be really good ... itt kind o makes me earlier investments in SIMs look stupid ... great demo
I don‘t if it‘s the quality of the product, the Style of playing or the fourth Beer Talking out of me, but this clean part made me goosebumped so hard 😅 nice Review, have a nice weekend guys 😁🤗
Nice finally IK can actually provide what they promised in irig, but im not buying same story second time sorry.
I know this is a pedal video, but the MacBook partially on the table had me distracted.
Haha, slight ocd trigger? Sorry about that, Guillaume likes to live on the edge. 😆 //Kris

Da muß ich mir erstmal die expertise von hausmeister krause und bodo einholen hudihudihudi 😂
Just wish it could load NAM profiles for even better tone 😂
You maybe consider do this test with cheap guitars as well..... just an idea.
Hey, thanks for the comment! I see one problem with that. If you show a pedal (or amp) with a guitar with obvious limitations you don't really show all that the pedal can give you. You only show the limitations of the guitar. A thin sounding single coil guitar would give you the impression that the pedal sounds thin, a not very percussive sounding humbucker guitar would give you the impression that the pedal sounds muddy. I hope you know what I mean. Cheers //Kris
@@ThomannsGuitarsBasses Thanks for your response, you have a good point.
Hey Kris, you make a fair point, but Thomann sell a wide range of guitars and I’d like to think this show represents all players of all budgets. This pedal is inexpensive (in the grand scheme of things) so I’m all for you guys using guitars you love but hearing it through affordable guitars (even some Harley Benton’s) would be ace. Maybe it answers that question about cheap guitar and good amp 🤷♂️ @thomann ?
@@Tethered_to_the_Polestar yeap, not necessary "cheap" guitars, could be a mid range or other brands as well.
It's a payday tomorrow 😛
Why buy two of these if the big ToneX Pedals is cheaper?
Size / form-factor mostly I guess?
To do stereo rig
No one has to buy two, it was a joke at first. Then we figured out that (as mentioned in the video) you can run them together and let the two do different things. One of them for your pedal presets, the other for amps. Or use them for a stereo dual-amp rig, as already mentioned here by gabrielnunes5448.
If you just want a scaled down, budget friendly version of the big ToneX, definitely get only one of these. //Kris
Big ToneX is mono? So you can do amp models on one and pedal models on the other?
WOW. BRavo. trs stereo in and out from ONE jack should be industry standard in 2024. DSP based digital pedals under 200€ too. Line6 wake up, stop crippling your products. i can see uafx prices slumping on the used market, i let my ruby go. And please guitarists: stop overpaying for digital pedals. they shouldnt be so expensive.
Axiomatic: anyone who doesn't admit that we are all truly living in an unprecedented golden age of guitar gear is either sadly uninformed and ignorant or, far worse, just willfully in factually objective denial. I say hallelujah!!!
Here we go what are you the 70th channel to hype this thing?
Hi, first of all thanks for sharing your opinion! This is how I see it. When a company releases a new product you'll see a lot of guitar channels showing it. I agree, it can be a little too much of the same thing in your feed. This is nothing new though. Earlier you had the same few releases covered in all the guitar related magazines, the only difference is that now you can actually hear the thing and don't have to rely on what some people write about it. Also, it's really easy to simply scroll over videos that you're not interested, isn't it? It feels like we, guitar players get a much better service nowadays and can decide much safer what to buy but we like to complain about it. Cheers //Kris
As you mature, you may develop the ability to ignore those items that don’t interest you. 😊 As for “hype,” if someone told you a year ago that you could buy the equivalent of a Kemper Player in a mini pedal for $200, what would have been your reaction? Oh, and the glut of videos is because of the embargo. Companies send product to reviewers with NDA-type agreements and one of the terms is at they can’t release the information until a specific date. That’s internet marketing. It’s not new. Magazines (remember them?) operated the same way.
No MIDi???????????? Damn - big miss IMO
8:18am and I'm already sick of the Tonex pedal.
Don't worry, it's a new day today, you can get sick of the next product release. 😅
I know what you mean, a lot of the same type of videos coming out simultaneously is a little too much. But that's the nature of NEWS. Imagine the evening news on tv bringing news from last week. Who would watch that? Cheers //Kris
To all the whiners: if you don't like/need it - don't buy it.
It's as simple as that.
If I wanted to play computer presets instead of real tube amps, I had become a keyboard player...
Not even my very best ToneX models seriously can compete with the real gear, so I hardly ever use them by myself. Much less I wanted to use them on stage. This is the reason, why I also never bought the bigger ToneX pedal. Makes no sense to me as a real amp substitute, as the tones always differ too much for my taste.
A nice semi-professional system, to get a first impression of several amps and pedals, but hardly a professional substitute for any real amp, at least not for me. Not for recording, much less for gigging.
Also not very convincing, that you even as a creator have no professional post-editing and fine-tuning options available and therefore most final results do not really sound as good, as professional and balanced as they could or should, if IK Multmedia did a better, more professional job from the beginning of ToneX on. Up to now it's more a counting money job only. At least for me.
This pedal alone proves my theory!
downside. Its from ik multimedia. And this company sggs dry when it comes to support and reliability. The axe io interface i had, was the cruelest, most uncomfortable device ive ever had....and i dealt with soundblaster soundcards for 25 years. Never again IK Multimedia. This company is on my banlist. Price is high. Its gimmicky, but you cant rely on it on tour or in the studio and if you need help, this company not just ignores you, they actively do anything to make it harder for you.
And what we shouldnt forget: You need Tonex Max and Amplitube Max for it. UVP: 500-600 Euro
Collect information before you conclude. They include tonex se. So you don't need to buy the software...
@@rethinktone Yeah. Ive got Tonex SE. Maybe you should collect info. Tonex SE is basically the trial version. You wont get much out of it. You need Tonex Max (and amplitube max, because they rely on each other). The Upgrade from SE to max is 200 Bucks. On Sale 100.
You just fell for advertising bro. Tonex SE is worth nothing. it lacks 85% of the features and every preset uses things you dont have. What you then hear is a white noise every 10 seconds. Have fun. Its the "F2P Mobile Gatcha Game". You can play it for free......if youre a masochist.
Every damn guitar channel shilling bullshit IK products again. Tonex is garbage.
So it doesn't do midi, and thus, I can't run it as a stereo rig together with my Tonex Pedal (the big one) because I can't remotely switch presets going from clean to crunch, etc...?!?!?!?!?!?
