I've got to tell you that I love the background music in your whole series. It's not only soothing to watch the disassembly/reassembly, but hearing the music really makes this a great video. Please continue to do more videos like this one. it's very inspiring and educational. Also, love how you keep everything clean and organized! Thank you for doing these videos!
🔴 I realized I forgot to mention the SRT’s little metallic red dot that normally covers the name plate screw. This camera was missing it’s red dot, evidence that it has most likely been opened before. This dot can be removed using isopropyl alcohol and a sewing needle 👍
This is an amazing video. I love how you lay out the tools at the start - very helpful! I have struggled with that infernal red dot myself and have since seen a better solution. Instead of prying off the dot to get to the screwhead underneath, I have seen people successfully remove the screw with the dot intact by using pliers to grip the sides of the screwhead and removing it in whole.
@@frankpavich Aye thanks for sharing the great tip Frank! Pinching and turning the screw head is a tried and true method, especially since they don’t sell these little red dots anymore. I have fashioned a pair of flat head pliers with adhesive foam on the tips for just this purpose, this helps prevent accidentally scratching the name plate with the pliers 👍 I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
This whole video is very helpful and more than that beautiful. Thank you! I’ve got an SRT-101 with a really dirty view finder so I’m trying to get to it to clean it but the 3309-05 rewind nut is all chewed up from a previous owners attempt to take it off so no tool will grab it. Any suggestions for getting it off?
This is a great dissassembly video, thanks. How would I go about finding something like what you have for tightening the piece on top of the film advance lever? You mentioned using a friction device but I'm not quite sure what to search for that.
Yes I do offer SLR repair services and would be happy to help you restore your grandfathers camera. I operate mainly through email and can be reached at aokcamerarepair@gmail.com, if you would like I can send you over a current pricing list 👍
I can't believe no one has asked this yet, but do you offer paid overhaul services on the SRT-101? It looks like you've got a good-sized inventory in the background so I thought maybe you do this professionally. As much as I'd like to become a camera repair nerd, I've got to pick and choose my hobbies at this point and for me, the functional camera is more important than the journey to make it so. I do love the links in the description though, lots of great information there!
Hey thank you, just saw this my apologies for the late response! Yes I work through email and currently do offer repair services for SLR cameras. If you are still interested you can email me at aokcamerarepair@gmail.com and I’ll send you over the pricing list 👍
There are very few design differences between the two, and are mostly cosmetic not mechanical. One of my favorite things about the SRT series is the fact that nearly all the parts are interchangeable from the 100 to the 303. The later models do have a hotshoe on top and may require detaching a few more wires to access the internals but other than that the layout and sequence is the same. Definitely check out Eugene Pates CLA guide I linked down below in the description, it’s a wonderful resource if your looking to dive deeper 👍
Yes that is definitely the plan, a website is currently in the works and I am launching my EBay store soon to list the cameras I have restored in the next month or so 👍

I have a stuck advance lever on mine and can’t figure it out for the life of me why. Any suggestions? Thank you
Do you buy chance know if there's any drastic mechanical design difference between the 101 and 201? I have a 201 I'm wanting to try to fix.

That plate at 3:00 is super tight on mine. Can't get it off with any force
I eventually used needle nose pliers for this - not ideal, but I loosened it up for next time
Also do you sell your cameras online?
