Recently, I visited Morocco. There are very good and welcoming people. The country of Morocco is worth a visit, especially the city of Marrakech and Agadir❤️
Beautiful vlog and beautiful report again from beautiful Morocco. Thank you. Only one correction about Chefchouan. The reason why it was built has a different origin, and it has nothing to do with "protection against foreigners" The birth of this beautiful blue village, Chafchouan, has a legendary love story behind it. The origin of this city dates back to the time of the Moroccan emir Sidi Ali Ben Rachid. He fell madly in love with a beautiful Spanish woman named Zhora. She lived in the southwest side of Cadiz province, that is now Vejer de la Frontera. After 500 years under the Muslim influence, Vejer came under Christian leadership and the couple in love, already married, were exiled and they moved to modern day Morocco. Upon arriving this couple decided to settle on the side of a mountain, along with the indigenous population or the Amazigh/Berbers. From that moment, the emir gained power, influence, respect among the Berber/Amazigh tribe, but his beloved wife did not overcome the sadness of being far from her land, her family home so her husband, Sidi Ali Ben Rachid, did his best to cheer her up. He recreated in this town a place similar to Vejer, with irregular streets and whitewashed houses. Thisappearance together with the features that the Amazigh place already possessed, created Chefchouan In order for the population to grow and his beloved wife to feel even more at home, he sent an edict to receive the exiles or those who were expelled(the Moriscos) of Al-Andalus in this newborn place. In a short time the place had 10,000 inhabitants among Amazigh, Andalusians and Jews, a place where everyone felt at home. So Chefchouan is not a story about "protection against outsiders" but a story about love. It was love that gave birth to this thriving city, the beautiful blue town and a small paradise on earth. Enjoy🌺🌺🌷🌻 Update: The name "Chefchaouen" is of Tarifit or Tamazigh/Berber origin, derived from the word isakon or echaouen which means 'the horns', and the word chef which means 'look at'. Chefchaouen thus means 'look at the horns', reflecting the two mountain peaks overlooking the area. + the beautiful straw hat is called a chachia, its a typical Jbala, a berber tribe of the North of Morocco, head gear. Its part of the northern Moroccan Amazigh/Berber outfit, usually worn by women, but at times men too. If you are still there you could complete it with the Mendil ,the outfit traditional dress of women in this province (Jbala Region - north of Morocco). interesting fact is that this traditional weaving product has made this province famous so local athorities decided to choose it as a logo for this region.
