reseting and discovering yourself is such a fulfilling journey. you’ll realise what you actually want for yourself, and the deeper meaning behind food. thanks for sharing. on the side note, personally hate cafe food as well, because i treasure local joints that whenever i visit these places, for sure can spot the owner uncle, aunty or 2nd/3rd generation one. to add on to Uncle Daniel, food establishments is not always about the taste and opening franchises, it’s about the familiarity & comfort, and their passion & tenacity for their craft. that is why, the fried rice that Aunty Ros cooks, will always be your favourite fried rice.

Would love to see cheap eats in Singapore and also to help out the hawkers who are always charging the elderly $1 - $3 to help out the poorer folks. Wanna know Daniel (and Aiken)'s take on where our traditional hawker food is going in the next few decades. I know there are young hawkers putting fresh spins on traditional things like truffle mee pok etc, but what is going to happen to our "Old Masters' "' $3.50 cheap but good mee pok?

do not try the katong and sugnei road laksa as sugnei road laksa have dropped their standard ever since their old man passed away. The old man was dedicated to his craft but his children all screwed it up.
Also opposite burlington square sim lim square, on second floor they sell the best butter chicken rice, n salted egg rice, can go there try also
Hi Aiken, can I suggest for you to a few series?
1. Your reaction to people sending in their stories (maybe also invite guests like Hirzi) spilling of juicy gossips and tea, as scandalous as possible if possible, like a teacher-student relationship, parent-children infighting, married guy hooking up with gay man, etc. all these are what's happening in today's decade unlike in the past and are realistic and will be interesting to the 30s yrs old audience, will be super fun to hear.
2. A day in the life series of Engineer, Software Engineer, Mcdonald staff, teacher, etc. i think you can tap on your connections or viewers with these occupations for a collab.
3. Adulting series that talks about adulting stuff, e.g. recently alot of youngsters are exploring renting out maybe you can invite some guests who are young and have rented a house and ask about their experiences, about renovations, about changing careers, about how to deal with office politics, what to do to advance one's career, what to think about before commiting to a marriage etc.
Love this, thanks for the ideas! We started with what we were familiar with but defo wanting to explore further!
