This is Ascended difficulty where all attacks are double damage. Radiant difficulty is a true nightmare for Absolute Radiance. There are so many things that can go wrong.
As a side note, this is also pre-nerf where the orbs were glitched in the final phase. She also has slightly more health overall.

But Path of Pain 2.0 was already supposed to have Hive Knight vomit buzz saws instead of bees, Crystal Guardian and his family shooting lasers non-stop, and Marmu chasing you. I suppose Absolute Radiance can shoot javelins too.

I don't recall it taking that long. Even if that were the case though, all of us value different hobbies and forms of entertainment that bring us enjoyment.
It took me 2 days to beat poh after unlocking absolute radiance. The hard part was being able to get good at the real hardest fight pure vessel

Looking at this last phase hurts.
Other than the glitched orbs it's not too terrible. But it's easy to make a mistake after everything you did to get to the last part. Case in point, final phase death on radiant difficulty. :)
I'm just trying to beat the fifth pantheon but damn those orbs are destroying me. I just can't find a way to properly dodge them, even less after the rest of the pantheon.
From my experience, it would be easier to just stay on one side and wait for the Radiance to come to you, hit it a few times (I usually manage 2) and then get right back to dodging.

Looking back on this, it's crazy how far the community's come.
Just remembering discussions of boss difficulty before Godmaster, like NKG versus Vanilla Radiance, really drives that home. The community as a whole has got much better at the game.
I managed to beat her on Radiant difficulty recently.
Took me 98 attempts. 50 on one day, 48 the next day. It was torturous, but I know I was the only one at fault for my various failed attempts.
I'm stubborn and determined...if I really want to do something, I will go through the pain it takes to do it.
And what was that for?...

I know it's supposed to be challenging but having to go through so many bosses and have to fight one which is so much more different and can easily kill you is horrible
Some abilities can combo to be extremely difficult to dodge and the speed makes it difficult to react in time. It's slowly coming together but it will require a good amount of practice and/or luck for a radiant difficulty kill.
Listen to me CrankyTemplar, you can absolutely do this. It's hard, and the combos will make you mad, but it is doable. Trust me.

Can beat Pure Vessel and NKG in Radiant, still can't get attuned for this boss. I think I lack the patience to fight her. Her orbs home amazingly well and they move very fast. Sometimes the screen brightness will make the orbs almost impossible to see. On top of that, her second form has very few perfect windows to get hits in.
They need to fix her final form because those glitching orbs are bullshit.
The beta patch for PC fixes the orbs but I'm not sure when it'll be released. This boss is viewed by a lot of folks as difficult and annoying so you're in good company. Hopefully it is a little less crazy in the future. Best of luck with your boss fights!
They can keep everything else the same about her, just those glitched orbs on form 3 are what bug me. Nothing quite like seeing it form on the other platform then suddenly appear right in front of you.
What was the orb glitch?
@@adiemus7155 When the orbs appear, they have a graphic that telegraphs where they're coming from on the screen (Shimmering light). When the orbs were glitching, that graphic would appear at multiple places, then shoot an orb out from the first graphic that started shimmering first on the screen. It was confusing, and sometimes it would seem like the orbs would just appear out of no where. You could be dodging the orbs fine up until the final form, then suddenly one would just appear out right in front of you and give you no time to try to dodge it.

Personally, the first phase where she's on the ground is slightly challenging but doable. The hardest part is that second phase with the platforms, which is also the part I hate. If you're really lucky, she would always be above a platform, but if not, she's constantly teleporting to hard-to-reach places and the edge of the arena. Very RNG based, not something I appreciate.
As for the final phase, it's really not too hard. The orbs actually despawn if they go off screen, and you don't have to follow the radiance as she will naturally teleport to the middle or to the platform you're at, so focusing on dodging the orbs should be your priority, then hitting her only when she's near.
Overall, really challenging fight. Kinda wish any bullets that spawn from her sprite are actually more visible, cuz even with my brightness lowered, it's still really hard to see them. But this is definitely doable considering I've killed her. As for that final pantheon...idk if I actually want to do it, considering the insanity she'll give me, despite managing to proceed all the way to her in the final pantheon on my best attempt.
Practice her on attuned until you feel comfortable with her attacks and confident you can beat her at the end of the final pantheon. It may take some tries but you'll get it. Good luck!

:D Thanks! ^-^ I got really lucky during the fight because as soon as she started her second phase, she teleported to the platform I was on and I was able to score 10+ hits on her. She then teleported to the platform above and I managed to end the phase there and then. She was only shooting holy orbs so it was a very, very lucky seed.

This is giving me anxiety just by watching it.
I'm rather proud of my reaction time, but christ, those lasers on the stairway (plus the first of each set of 3) make me want to beg for an extra handful of milliseconds.
This is beyond fair, challenging, and pain
There are so many difficult things about this boss. First, the homing missiles don't despawn for ages so when there's 4 chasing you it's so hard to dodge. Second, when he does multiple attacks at the same time, in which is becomes almost impossible to see what's going on. Third, the nails that come out of the ground - absolute radiance may combine this with a sideways nail attack or the big beam of light which is just so hard. Fourth, you lose 2 hearts to pretty much everything so it's as if you have 5 hearts without extra heart charms. Fifth, he has so much health so you have to stay alive for so long. He's so difficult!
This reminds me of everything I hate about Monday.
Took me 3 hours nonstop to beat him on radiant difficulty. I got the hang of phase 1 and 3 pretty quick, but there are so many things that can go wrong on phase 2 like attacks stacking giving you no chance of dodging.

Nope, when I first started Hollow Knight challenges I didn't think I could get to where I am now. But it just goes to show how well you can improve with practice.

I can agree that hollow Knight is a tough game, but there are different levels of toughness on games, this one is very reflexive, but before all, toughness is very relative, if someone is befriended with metroidvania style games, hollow Knight is pretty easy even in the hardest bosses and levels, depends of everyone

@@JPigLOL You are horrifically mistaken, buddy. As a long time veteran of Metroidvanias and platformers, Godmaster beat my ass into the ground. Radiant AR was one of the hardest things I've ever done.
If you'd like a recommendation for ludicrous difficulty, try Wings of Vi. Beating the final boss of that on normal difficulty is my greatest gaming achievement. The game is so hard that there are some gameplay modifier combinations that no human has beaten to this date, even speedrunners.

I think that they should've just put in the vanilla Radiance fight but add new attacks to make it feel fresh instead of just the same old fight but faster and with a small new phase.

Not sure if people know but she doesn't deal any contact damage so you can pogo on her head which might make parts of the fight a little easier and might make it go a little faster.
That's a good thing to point out. I think pogoing Radiance isn't too helpful as it'll put you in a bad place for lasers and javelins spawning from her. But if one can make it work then that's great!
I encountered a glitch while training against the Radiance, if you split her fight in 6 phases the glitch happened in phase 3. I was 1 hit away from dying after completing phase 3 but for some reason while the radiance was still on the floor, a row nails that she rains down in phase 3 still appeared when it wasn't supposed to since the radiance is down and was ready to transition to the 4th phase but I end up getting killed by those out of nowhere nails but after I appeared back the hall of Gods but the screen never stopped shaking after I died. I left the hall of Gods the screen still shook, I left godhome the screen still shook, I entered a fifth with the PV the screen continued to shake it was only after I entered the fight against the Absolute Radiance again did the screen stop shaking. It was cool to encounter this glitch but it just got in the way of what I was doing.

Oro + Mato: Surprisingly hard but can be learned. Sheo: Ez. Sly: Pretty hard until you get used to his patterns. Pure Vessel: Pretty ez lol. NKG and regular Radiance: Pretty ez lol. Absolute Radiance: FUCKING SAVAGE PIECE OF SHIT I CAN HARDLY EVEN BEAT IT ON ATTUNED AAAHHH ITS SO HARD
Absolute Radiant is definitely the hardest boss, especially with the length of the fight.

which charms are you using ? just curious im trying the ascended with (stalwart shell, unbreakable strength, mark of pride and lifeblood core) no luck yet
I'm using Quick Slash/Mark of Pride/Unbreakable Strength/Longnail. I kind of started using Longnail with radiant Collector and have been slow to switch it back to joke charms. There are also other good options to switch it out for.
i see ... longnail + mark of pride on radiance seens pointless since you have to jump to hit him on phase 1 regardless of the combo and on phase 2 and 3 you pretty much attack at melee range the entire time, if you are going for radiant dificult i would suggest something to maximase your damage, glowing womb or grimmchild (since radiance stand still for every attack anyway) seens good options i think but its all just a guess im not a "pro" on the game i just trying to finish it so i need to train on radiant "ascended" so when the time comes i can deal with him after pure vessel, if im wrong just let me know xD
You're correct Longnail isn't too handy on Radiance (the only benefit is that you don't need to jump for 1-2 platforms in P3 if you stand perfectly under her). I'm not a fan of pet charms so I tend to not use them, though they can be useful. I know dreamshield can block her orbs if it impacts against it. Grubberfly is popular for radiant difficulty because of the range and constant uptime.
There are many good charms, but I played quite a few no charm runs so I'm not used to really experimenting with charms. I also really don't want to overcharm (though I have experimented with some charm builds that overcharmed me).
CrankyTemplar my current build for Radiance is Quick slash, unbreakeabel strengh, shaman stone, longnail. But I always die in the last phase
@@mathiswagner8472 are you playing with the beta patch which fixes the orbs (not an option for the Switch currently)? That last phase is pretty rough after everything else but you can pogo Radiance and once the orbs go above the screen they should be gone for good. Or you can try and bait them into hitting a platform. If you're hitting that last phase consistently then don't give up - you're almost there! Good luck!
Is there a way you have found to reliably dodge the first of the "tri beams". I dont know if my reflexes simply arent fast enough or if there is something I should be looking out for that Im not doing. If by luck the first one doest hit me the other two are predictable but if im standing where the first one hits im probably getting damaged. I got to her on PoH all bindings but Im about to quit because I feel it is completely luck based on this particular attack
I haven't found a trick for the first laser. Whenever she teleports an attack is coming (or a second or two after an attack finishes) so I just try to be ready to move if I see lasers. I still get hit by lasers so it's not 100% successful.

Every one is saying that absolute radiance is the hardest boss but in my opinion after I fought him today and took me around 38 try to beat him the first time ( of course I died to the fifth pantheon ) I still think NKG is the hardest boss in the game , I mean he took me more than 60 try to beat him the first time , even pure vessel didn't take me that much ( he took me around 38 try as well ) so I don't agree with other people who says NKG isn't the hardest boss anymore I think he still the hardest tho
I was terrified by NKG when I first started learning the fight. SUPER intimidating and way faster than his troupe master counterpart. But as i started learning the fight I realized that there are always only 4 attacks, and he's one of the few bosses that you can actually tell roughly what health he's at because he does pufferfish every 25% health.
After trying to practice him to get through him in the 5th pantheon, I started realizing I could do it on ASC, and started clearing it regularly. then I got ballsy and tried it on radiant...took me a few tries and stupid mistakes but I actually downed him. and I sat back and went...wow he's actually a relatively predicable boss. fun as all hell but I struggled much more with absrad.
I'm honestly not even a fan of absrad. I hate the fact that there is SOOOO much RNG. NKG and PV are both skill-based fights, fast paced and with little rng. If you die, you know why you died and 99% of the time, it was your fault. But with absrad, two attacks that shouldn't be on screen at the same time are and you get absolutely destroyed...you get to the platform phase and she can just be a bitch not teleporting where you need her to, flying around and comboing attacks that are nearly impossible to dodge just because of bad luck.
Radiance is not defeated yet so if you defeat bosses on ascended difficulty you can play on radiance ascended one but ascended is renamed Absolute

Zote + BS Uumuu (I call it BullSh. Uumuu because you have to be a ballistic expert to get those dang Oomas to hit her) is a tough duo for me.
Today I got to Sly for the first time. Managed to get through the "first time fear", but his second phase left me speechless... and maskless.
Once you get the rhythm of the second phase then its fine! Just go down the corner attack him then heal. Rinse and repeat. It only took me 2 tries.
Hey there, same guy who was stuck at Zote a couple comments before.
Yesterday I got VERY close to beating the Pantheon of Hallownest. Ironically the hardest part for me is getting up there to get to the last phase of A. Radiance. Also, that's probably because I've been playing on a Keyobard the whole game.
Point is, even if Pure Vessel destroys you 30 times, hold on to your pants and one day you'll master even him. Trust.
+adb95The reward isn't worth it, some day you will have to do all bindings in all pantheons to get everything out of the game. It wouldn't be fun just frustrating.

did people really think it was difficult at some point? it is difficult, but now a lot of the time when someone says they beat it, it's just "do [x harder thing]" usually as a joke though. also curious what itd look like if you did just a normal kill now.

Right now I am suffering from a glitch on PS4 where the black smoke from below suddenly engulfs the entire screen, killing me. Did anyone here experience the same?
If you get too high in the platform phase there's a glitch where it thinks you've reached the climbing phase when you haven't. The void covers the screen and you'll eventually die. If that's what's happening don't try to jump above the screen during that phase.
I'm never getting the last two achievements..

Good day! No need for flattery good sir, I see this is one of the few videos where I did not show charms at the end and I don't remember exactly what I used.
Generally though, fragile/unbreakable strength is excellent. Quick Slash is decent but not necessary, Mark of Pride is handy of you like range charms (not needed but I like to use it). If you use spells I highly recommend Shaman Stone as Abyss Shriek does a lot of damage on this fight. That works well with a nail build, although Spell Twister or Soul Catcher/Soul Eater can be good if you have space.

how do you unlock this in the pantheon? I've defeated radience and completed the game but this isn't unlocked for me
Once you reach Absolute Radiance in the final pantheon you'll unlock her statue in the hall of gods whether you win or lose.

Unpopular opinion, normal radiance really is not hard at all. I beat her twice consecutively, after only 3 attempts.
If anything, I’d say NKG and Pure Vessel are much harder since there’s little room for mistake.
@@Overqualification compared to them of course, nkg is the final boss in a dlc and is a dream boss, and pure vessel is the penultimate boss in the final dlc, of course it’s going to be harder than the final boss of the normal game
@@storntreat they could’ve still made a patch to make it harder though but now they can’t because that spot is taken by absolute radiance.

At the time it was kind of crazy. In retrospect it's pretty funny now when this isn't considered anywhere near difficult as modded Radiance is.
