in this video I will unbox, setup and shoot the Scout LT slingshot out doors. I was looking for a new slingshot and ordered the Scout LT. That's very impressive my friend. And I greatly appreciate your disclaimer towards the end, explaining that you paid for it. So many TH-cam demos and reviews are made by people getting free/discounted gear and swag from manufacturers that it's becoming increasingly hard to trust such reviews. Good on you, sir.

Hey Martin how are you doing my friend. I had no Idea you knew about this channel. Lol. It is true what you said about reviewers. I have had many companies ask me to review their gear. I always tell them that I will give my honest opinion. If I dont like it I will say so. A couple of them asked me to not release the video if I didnt like it. So I declined. I'm not a salesman I will give my honest opinion and will never lie to my viewers. I hope all is well with you my friend. It wont be long before you can get out and paddle.
@@ATOMark Hiya Mark. I'm doing very well here, having a great winter (the best one in years), busying myself with snowshoeing and winter camping. I'm having so much fun I'm not even looking forward to winter ending, though you can be sure I'll be hitting the water as soon as ice-out arrives. P'raps this year we can meet up for a paddle together.

A month ago my 45 yr old nephew and I (70) were talking about growing up in a rural area and shooting slingshots with no neighbors to bother. I bought us each a Daisy wrist rocket and began playing around with mine while fishing. I graduated from river pebbles to 3/8 steel. Not satisfied with the results I did my TH-cam research. Last week I ordered a Sparrow from SimpleShot. Next will be some clay balls. Thanks for your channel and information. With 7 billion people in the World and the Internet anyone interested can learn from you and other the other good guys in the sport. I appreciate your humble, every man presentation. I expect I’ll be collecting new gear including the one you just reviewed.

Love the Scout LT, especially the Pro version. After 5 years and 30 frames including beautiful cast aluminum and handmade Chinese, I decided to pick just one frame, bands and pouch, quit experimenting and get accurate with it. I now use All Simple- Shot stuff. The new Beautiful well made aluminum Pro LT with handle weights is the BEST for me. The other ergonomic frames feel good in my hand in the house, look beautiful but it is when shooting 50+ rounds well, without once thinking about your frame, that's what is important. Some frames feel better than they shoot. Many little design features add up to the total package. GO LT.
I have 2 LT's and 1 LT LE . It is one of the best frames of all time. Excellent . It is best to stick to one frame and setup after experimenting for the best setup for you. Once you find it all thats left is time and practice.

Hi, you're absolutely right! It's an excellent slingshot. I got mine, same colour, about half a year ago and still love to shoot it - every day :)

@@ATOMark p.s.: I recently found out, that it's possible to hide at least 33 BBs (6mm) under the scales inside the handle :) so you don't need to buy the extra handle weight and have some emergency-ammo. Despite of that the LT is also super nice to shoot without scales!

oh man I wish I thought of that! Genius. Great to throw into a backpack as some insurance if things go wrong when out on the trails.

Immediately subscribed. I really liked your closing comment, "get out and explore." I have the XT. In the process of improving my shooting areas and experimenting with different ammo.
Appreciate video. Bought 3 slingshots. Very accurate. Always get the weight for it. Feels better. Way better slingshot than wrist rocket I use to shoot.
Oh ya. I am not a fan of those wrist rockets. Lol feels like trading my smart phone for a rotary phone!lol the scout LT is great I have 3 of them now.
I tried hunting with them. Squirrels in MO are fast. Going to keep trying. I enjoy target practicing though.

Oh man, you are going to have fun with that. I have a new frame coming from them too. They are saying 4 to 8 weeks..... boo I hope it will be faster than that.

I know this is an old video but I just now came across it. I got the Scout LT for my first slingshot last week. It is working really great for me. I’ve tried it with ott and ttf and I seem to do better with ttf.
I tied the lanyard with the knot inside the scales and it looks great although u can't have the handle weight.

Hey thanks man. I actually bought the hammer pro ttf at the same time as this. I kept frame hitting so I tried this and I was an ott guy from then on. I can shoot ttf pretty well but not consistently.

Everyone misses dont feel bad about it. I miss much less now than I did then but it still happens. Nothing to be ashamed of.

Ya I am but for some reason it sounds worse that is is on camera. I bought the ocularis when I first started out and hated it. I bought another one when the ocularis LE came out and I had to have one. I really like it now that I got used to shooting round tips. Thanks for the comment.
Yep, I know what you're saying about the oculars, I had to modify main for comfort. I shoot though the forks. the bands it came with were good.

How do you compare the Simpleshot ScoutLT to the other slingshots they make? I am looking to buy my first one rom them, but they have several that all loo good.
It's a great slingshot and probably one of the best if not the best production slingshot ever made.
You lose a lot of power in the band if you take more than a second to get on target.The longer you hold that band the weaker it gets. If your not hunting it doesn't matter but if you are hunting you want full power. A one second draw requires a feeling. You have to know you got it. Those targets are really good for the one second pull back.

It’s a nice slingshot. I need to figure out how to deal with arthritis pain in my left shoulder.

I dont own an xt maybe in the future. I really like the LT though. I have 3 of them.
Great video fella, can you do a set up video on the red chinese slingshot you got, because I've got one but I can't put the sights on, there is no screws to put them on or I don't think holes, I'm confused with it, any help highly appreciated mate.

Like your videos Mark, any chance to supress traffic noise on them?
The ones in my yard will get a little better when the leaves grow in but not much. Once conditions are better I will be doing more videos in the forest. Its strange in real life it doesn't sound that bad but the mic makes it way worse for some reason. I will see if there is a setting that will help.

Why do I get deep scratches on my rubber band? After firing about 10 to 15 shots I feel like my band is getting hit by a fork. If it does, how do I avoid it?
What kind of slingshot do you have?

I wonder if the clay ammo would kill a bird, ordered some but I've never examined it in hand.
I really don't know. I have never tried. I find they are ok for short distance but tend to wander a little at longer distance due to their irregular size. I think with a 3/8 clay ball you would wind up injuring animals and not killing them.

Both shoot really well. But I think I would choose 🤔 the EVO because it is indestructible.
Thanks for your videos. Is the Toparchery Pro from your earlier video a better buy than the Scout LT?
The Toparchery Pro is made of solid metal yet it cost less. Please advice.
The top archery slingshot is good and cheaper. But there are so many copies and replicas out there now and I have heard of people having quality problems although I still have mine and it works great. That said I would but the scout if I had to choose.
what are the dimensions for butterfly shooting and tape thickness thank you friend
I use 20-12 taper and set my band length according to my draw length. I think it worked out to be 13" long maybe 13.5

I usually go up a size in bands when It gets cold. This day it wasn't that cold. Only around -8or 10
Are the clips the same as the Scout XT?
I don't know for sure. I have never shot the xt

Thoughts on the LT vs the axiom ocularis?
I would take the scout LT over the ocularis. The build quality of both are excellent. Both can be shot ott and ttf which is cool. The bands can be changed really easily on both frames. But the scout LT is very intuitive and just felt right in my hand. I was shooting really well with it the first time I picked it up. For others it could be the opposite but the ocularis is not for me so I gave it away. Just my opinion though.

I just built my first slingshot the other day, trying to get things working with some rubber bands around the house, and not sure yet what to do for a pouch.
After I've got it built, and if I keep at it, I'll definitely be picking up a scout lt thanks to you!
It is cool that you made your own. When I was a kid I used to make them out of tree forks and inner tubes from bicycle tires. I wish I kept them. I think you will like the scout. It is a great design and shoots amazing.

Do you have any problem with your normal bands being too powerful for clay ammo? Look me up on FB if you want to geek out over slingshot stuff lol and I can send you a couple warrior pouches to try. Love my scout lt
Ya the clay balls I didnt like too much. Some batches I got were decent but some were terrible. The weight makes a big difference it is also bad for your bands...... almost like dry firing them. I did reduce my taper from 23- 15 to 18-12 and went from .70 to .62 I probably could have gone lower but the hand slap stopped and they started to shoot straight. Over powering ammo with our bands is something we all go through. With all hunting shot placement is key. I will check you out on facebook.
