One of the reasons I insta-click on your videos is you show great comparisons of other tools and what can you fit in different spots. I was thinking "is the 815 the same as my bit check handle? It looks a bit bigger..." and you show them together. I wish brands would do a better job on their sites visualizing their tools to each other. I'd replace those pozis with some Robertsons :)
The salt and pepper shakers can also be used to store extra bits you have lying around as my food usually is seasoned and can’t see my self using it though bottle opener is perfect as is the smallest ratchet money can buy
Would rather had a case for the bit check then one for the salt and pepper shaker
Nice little set, best Christmas box ever IMO.
i like the mini tool check set and the bottle opener, but the salt and pepper shakers are a real miss for me. woulda rather had two more sockets.
It looks like you need to put the pepper and salt shakers upside down in pouch. Then the bottle opener will be opposite the narrow part.
I wish more companies would make some of these parts. I just want the small bit ratchet that has a hex shank on it, I've wanted this kind of specific part for well over 15 years at this point. I also like the idea of stubby hex shanks. Now if only we could also get an adapter for those 'precision' screwdriver sets, the ones that use the slightly smaller hex, 3/16" or whatever they're using; though when it comes to the ratchet itself, I'd like a second one with this size specifically, or have some kind of sleeve adapter to reduce bit length as adapters get quite tall overall. I also like the stubby square adapter and wish more companies would make these, square adapters are almost universally very long when they really don't need to be; and the combination of a stubby square adapter with the ratchet adapter makes the setup just about as shallow as an actual ratchet. The only other thing would be getting a ratchet adapter that has an angled head, or one with a swivel head; it'd take up more space but having a geared head would be cool too, like a manual version of a power ratchet, just spin your screwdriver handle instead of wrenching the entire thing, this would work wonders for extremely tight spaces if you don't have an insanely high tooth count with high tension to make sure the teeth click over on a looser fastener.
Who knows, maybe someone will actually produce a set of these or start including them in sets without an insanely high markup, then we'll start seeing some of Chinese origin as individual pieces from the typical stores.
Bit ratchet with MALE hex shank on it is available = brand: 711L, model: 71187 'Hex End EDC Ratchet Wrench'. No need to wait another 15 years 😅
Also check the brand: TengTools, model: RHA14 (bit + socket dual drive). I bought the TengTool for my EDC kit recently. Incidentally, I sold it shortly after because the socket drive was too much for me. Bought a 711L bit ratchet with FEMALE hex shank instead (model 'Mini Ratchet Wrench'). I use the female hex shank to fit an adapter 1/4" hex male shank to 4mm female hex, so I can use precision bits.
By the way, 711L makes a bit ratchet with FEMALE hex shank for precision bits (4mm). It's called the 'Micro Ratchet Wrench - Precision 4mm'.
Finally, 711L also makes a bit ratchet with a flex head but, sadly, it has a flat end (to fit into Leatherman multitool). It's called the 'Flat End Flex Head EDC Ratchet Wrench'.
The WERA bit ratchets ( including this one ) are made by the Taiwanese company HI-FIVE.
They make bit ratchets for FACOM, USAG, MAC, ICON, VIM, TOPTUL, RUJIO, GM POWERTORQUE, DEEN, KS TOOL, WURTH, PRESTACYCLE, TOPEAK, and 711L.
711L offers a little ratchet like this, but the hex is flat to fit in the bit holder on leatherma multitools.
It may fit a little less securely in regular hex bit drivers, but it can be used.
The small ratchet head with the 1/4" tail, I wonder if you put it in a ratcheting driver in a non-locked position - if it would be possible to effectively drive in weird positions. Sorta like what a ball hex key allows but not exactly.
So the movement would be more circular off-axis rather than the normal flat arc perpendicular to the axis.
A lot of people will gift these advent calendars to friends. You remove the transport box, hand them the calendar and there are no spoilers. Pretty obvious, isn't it?
This way of packaging is very common for advent calendars (tools or not) for exactly this reason.
The Hazet, Stahlwille, Gedore Red, Bosch, and Parkside 2024 calendars are also out. Nothing interesting, at least for me. The Hazet might be cool for those who don't really own tools or need something small and mobile. It's ~80 Euros. The Stahlwille is just a 1/4 ratchet and ratcheting screwdriver set for 100. Quite disappointing.
Edit: Milwaukee's is the only one so far that's not full of the usual junk.
What’s the purpose of such calendars?
So cool
Great Calendar set this year! Congrats my friend! :)
лучше бы вложили шоколад:)
Damnit, of course they dont sell the salt and pepper shakers separately.
If I would be in charge of the Adventskalender, I would put a 1/4'' 10mm behind each door. And on the 24th, you get a 1/2'' 10mm.
I'm sure they will once the holidays have passed. They often release the advent calendar items individually.
@@Rmf8yep, after the holidays when they have hundreds of unsold plastic containers they will sell them off pretty cheap.
Could wera kk 838 RA S fit?
I knew I am not the only one wondering whether this is possible. I went to the Wera homepage to find out if it could theoretically fit the dimensions and found the following.
The 838 RA S has an overall length of 102mm, the handle length is given as 84mm.
For the 815/1 (Advent calendar 2024) there is only this information in a table '1x 1/4“ x 78'. Unfortunately, the ´78´ is not explained.
The handle is 78 mm long ( just the plastic). It is an 815. 838 does not fit.
@@matthiasmuller6061 it fits, just saw a photo 838RAS fit in the mini tool check
@@bloodynobleIs there any chance that you provide the link to that picture, i'd like to take a look at it.
i will get this,, Good calander this year
£65 on Amazon UK. Ouch! 😮
I wish you compared the length of the normal bit ratchet to the extention + ratchet head.
Posted photo on Instagram. Here is a link. It is the second photo of two. instagram.com/p/C_yRuN8JHYp/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
@bzeug REEE no sir. Normal bit ratchet vs new extension + new ratchet head.
instantly identify u are RC player when you put 1.5 and 2mm hex bit in it🤣
Not much in the set this year.
Each year they give you less and the price goes up.
If you go back 3-4 years they gave you a much more comprehensive set.
I will skip getting it this year.
This is going to be a pass for me.
I wish they would have given you a 17 and 19 wrench instead of salt and pepper shakers. Otherwise super useful kit
17 with a 1/4 drive? It would not last long, I am afraid.
@@pzwolski joker wrench 🔧 not socket
@@Coconut7403 Right, reading too quick and making wrong assumpions. Sorry for that. I do not think the callendar price would cover any joker wrench cost. That is one. The second thing is these shakers are so cute and sweet. 😉
@@pzwolski Last year they had joker wrenches. I think for the costs they had to make new forms for salt and pepper shaker they could have added one 17x19 joker. But I just don't like the the Shakers. I prefer freshly ground stuff XD
