I emailed Gary and he promptly responded with the correct TCM wire color for my 2012 Chevy Colorado 1LT 4x4 Crew Cab. I ran ground wires with crimped connectors to the closest factory ground and crimped replacement wire to the correct colored wire that was provided by Gary for this grounding problem from the input speed shaft sensor. Buttoned everything up. Took my truck on a 30 mile test drive. The P0717 code is gone. Chevy dealer wanted $199. just to diagnose. Cost of wire, connectors, and the butt connectors was less than $15. Took an hour to get it done. THANKS GARY !!!

    Hello.
    I enjoyed your video.
I just purchased a 2013 Gmc savana 1500 awd cargo van with a 5.3 engine.
It had a bad transmission. No reverse. I bought a used one from a wrecker I deal with from a 2013 awd van.
Had it installed and have a hard shift from 1st to 2nd. Engine light came on and I scanned it. Came up with the P0717 code Input turbine speed sensor.
Is that a bad ground from the TCM or is it the speed sensor?
If it is then I have to remove the transmission again.
I could appreciate your input on this situation.

I have a 2009 Cobalt 2.2 with P0717, P0700, and intermittently tire pressure light and air bag light will come on. I am leaning more toward a universal ground location that may tie these three together. I do, however, get harsh shifts for the first 200 miles after resetting the service light, check engine light stays on.

I only occasionally get P0717. I notice when cold the computer often does not report an ISS value, only after warming up on a drive. As soon as the ISS value appear the PCS solenoid duty cycle value freezes and the transmission will shift harsh based on that value. Reset ignition for 5 seconds after that and usually if warm enough problem goes away for the drive likely until next day.

So I have an 09 yukon RWD 4.8. 170k on it. I just bought it a couple weeks ago and on my way home today CEL came on and I scanned it and got p0700 and p0717.
Definitely shifting hard from 1st to 2nd. the couple that had it before me hadn't reset it in a long time but the average fuel economy was 13.8 which is a the low side even for an around town commuter car.
I don't mind throwing some parts at it looks like a TCM (TCU on parts catalog) goes for bout $120 Seem pretty easy to swap out should I start there? I was going to take it in for some fluid changes including transmission and rear end. Fluid doesnt look bad at all.
you have to drop the transmission to change the input speed sensor... yikes. hopefully not that.

check fluid level, if you can clear the code and see what comes back. May have a few problems, the P0717 code could be a bad input speed sensor located on the TCM which is bolted to the valvebody, if bad you would need to replace the valvebody/TCM. The vibration could be a Torque converter chatter does it feel like your driving over railroad tracks or maybe like a washboard effect?
