Excellent video as always. I do hope Eufy releases a newer version of the Outdoor Cam Pro to 4k and to have full homebase 3 compatibility. I like the small discreet footprint.
Thanks for the great videos always informative and was wondering I’m was thinking could I hook up the eufy home base 3 to my router and use my ring pro for just my house sensors and use eufy cameras with the base station ? Any help would be great thinking about switching
Does eufy store your videos or images anywhere on their servers or is it all stored locally? Also, are you able to view this on a computer or only in the eufy app?
That camera would be a great addition to my NVR setup as I have 3 parrots I like to be able to check on in case anything happens with them. 4k would match the resolution of the boxes I have now and it should work with one of them. Probably won't work with the Reolink box but the other one is fully ONVIF compliant. If nothing else the app should work on my phone and tablet.
It's on a minor sale so I ordered one to try out. Supposed to be here Christmas eve and we'll see how it works or doesn't with the NVR boxes I have. Otherwise the phone app should be fine.
I got it setup today and on my pixel 6 phone it looks really crisp and clean. The motion tracking seems fast and acurrate. You can set it to track critters and people or either one plus off if you don't need it. The video actually seems really smooth for only 14 fps in 4k but you do have resolution options down to at least regular 1080p hd. A couple of the ONVIF machines seem to be able to see it on the network but haven't gotten video yet. I am going to swap the microsd card out of the retired camera to record to. It really is a nice camera for the money, especially when on sale like it is now.
I have all indoor 2k pan & tilts used outside for years now. With this design, looks like water might trickle down into the base, if its exposed to rain at all. So probably dont need to swap all mine out for 2k to 4k. Maybe 1 or 2 eventually. Wish they kept the dome like design
@ thats a possibility on some of mine, snow at least. But the current 2k cams also have a cap where the lens is and ive had zero weather issues with any of them. Im not sure going from 2k to 4k is worth it. Unless it also has some ai features to stop repeat notifications for the same person?
You mean for power? you can use any of eufy's battery cameras for indoors...they will actually work (their PIR sensor) better indoors because it is more of a controlled environment.
Come to think of it. I haven't seen one yet. I have a feeling that nobody is making them yet most likely because of the power consumption of the optical zoom motors if they make one.
The solocam s340 has horrible live stream pan and tilt lag. I can’t get it to move! Takes forever to respond and then over adjusts since I held it down too long since it wouldn’t budge.
@@LifeHackster I just finally got a notice that it has weak connection and to move my home base closer. Maybe I need a second one for the other side of the house.
I would have to turn off the auto tracking because it looks like Eufy still hasn't fixed their image compression issues. If it had a 3x optical zoom I might overlook that part.
Thanks for rhis video. What about your privacy wirh the Eufy app on your phone (do you have Android or Apple?) And do you run both Reolink and Eufy apps side by side.
It seems decent but it does not impress me enough to purchase it. Auto tracking inside is kind of pointless unless you have a big room and in which case getting more cameras for coverage would be better.
Still only 15 FPS? When will Eufy get their act together. Whenever the camera pans, the image is too blurry to make anything out. If I were a thief, I'd weave from side-to-side, and never get recognized!
It is more of their compression than low FPS...motion artifacts. This is one reason I like 180 degree cams than tracking ones. -> th-cam.com/video/vI2nZwAz-Qo/w-d-xo.html
The fact that Eufy has such a low frame rate and still can't view all cameras at once make it an overrated brand. I own 6 eufy cameras and they're a disappointment when comparing with other brands.
@@LifeHackster I have no idea what exactly that means but I would rather have all my recordings in the cloud and never need to trust an SD card plus I don’t have anyway device to view an SD card on.
The more I look at your eufy reviews, the more I contemplate getting rid of my Ring cameras. Great review.
I switched from ring to eufy, way better all around and eufy is constantly innovating and adding better things and they also have the smart lights too
I made the move. No regrets.
@reggie2803 eufy also has a 30 day return policy, if you don't like it, return it. But I can tell you, they will blow away any ring devices
Thanks for watching!
I'm thinking the same thing about ditching my Wyze cameras in favor of Eufy. I've just had too many issues with Wyze products.
Nice review. Eufy has come a long way😊
Thanks for watching!
Excellent demonstration video. I now have one in my cart thanks to your link.👍🏼😎

I know. The head or the camera part of this looks like the outdoor cam pro.
Can you do a 2k vs 4k comparison?
We will see. Thanks for watching.
🎉Your So NOSTALGIA!❤LOVE YOU VIDS
Merry Christmas. 🎄😺😺😺
Merry Christmas to you too!
I want Eufy to make a poe hardwired camera asap because they have an awesome application!!!
Love the video. When is the video on the 24/7 feature on the eufyCam S3 Pro coming out?
Testing it currently..soon.
Does it support Apple HomeKit Secure Video (store video recordings in iCloud)?
I personally don't use Homekit but with all the limitations it has when turning it on, I will not be surprised if it is not.
Awesome in-depth review, thank you! One question please…can it hang upside down? I didn’t see a magnet on the bottom, but wanted to ask. Thanks!
Yes. It has a mounting bracket included (screwed in)
Would you suggest a good one for picking up loud bangs from upstairs neighbors?
Thanks for the great videos always informative and was wondering I’m was thinking could I hook up the eufy home base 3 to my router and use my ring pro for just my house sensors and use eufy cameras with the base station ? Any help would be great thinking about switching
Yes, you can.
any recommendations for a starter indoor security setup for a 1k square ft apartment? looking for two cameras with 2 way audio
Great video one question with the pan and tilt do you think it would set off a motion detector ?
Most likely, it will not. Motion detector like on alarm system uses a PIR sensor which detects heat movement.
Thank you for all your help

This has the RTSP option but same as Homekit, limited to 1080P resolution only.

Interesting to see comparison between this and the S350. Guess only difference should be dual lens
The dual lens are the main difference and the price.
@@LifeHacksterand the spotlight.
@@michaeln.8401 oh yes.. the spotlight too. Thanks.
What do you think is better this or the indoor s350?
If you don't need 2 lenses, then this one is a better choice.
Can you tell me where you found the solar power standard for eufy S340
I'm assuming you are talking about the mount I used in my S340 video... I used the mount from the Reolink solar panel.
I have all indoor 2k pan & tilts used outside for years now. With this design, looks like water might trickle down into the base, if its exposed to rain at all. So probably dont need to swap all mine out for 2k to 4k. Maybe 1 or 2 eventually.

Under the eaves, this will work fine I think..unless you will get sideways rain...

How does the eufy ingoor cam E30 compear to the Eufy 2K indoor Cam’
This have a bit better video quality and more features.
@@LifeHackster is it worth the extra money? i paid $60 for 2 of the 2k indoor cams
Do you have to use a SD card to be able to record in 4K? The pan and tilt required a sd card to get 2k. Thanks for the videos!
And the answer is yes. A SD card is required to record 4K video. FYI.
Can it be used with 3rd party software like Blue Iris, or do you have to use their hub?
It has RTSP and you don't have to use the eufy hub. It works by itself.
Can this be used wireless? I’ve been looking for an indoor wireless camera & have loved eufy products.
You mean for power? you can use any of eufy's battery cameras for indoors...they will actually work (their PIR sensor) better indoors because it is more of a controlled environment.
Comparison with the Eufy S350?
We will see.
LifeHackster is there a battery operated camera that has like 10-20x optical zoom with pan and tilt?
Come to think of it. I haven't seen one yet. I have a feeling that nobody is making them yet most likely because of the power consumption of the optical zoom motors if they make one.
How would you compare it with the eufy Security Indoor Cam S350? Would you still prefer this one?
Good stuff
Appreciate it
Hi, I love your reviews. Have you reviewed the eufy C210?
I reviewed the indoor C220 a while back. The C210 is the 1080p version.
Appreciate the time to reply. Will you recommend it though? What’s the pros and cons?
The solocam s340 has horrible live stream pan and tilt lag. I can’t get it to move! Takes forever to respond and then over adjusts since I held it down too long since it wouldn’t budge.
It is mostly a signal connection thing if you have a lag controlling it.
@@LifeHackster I just finally got a notice that it has weak connection and to move my home base closer. Maybe I need a second one for the other side of the house.
I wish Eufy sold cheap motion sensors that could be linked to their cameras. So if the sensor went off the pan and tilt could look in that direction.
they do have motion sensors
I would have to turn off the auto tracking because it looks like Eufy still hasn't fixed their image compression issues. If it had a 3x optical zoom I might overlook that part.
They will always have high compression because it is WIFI based. They do have the indoor cam S350 with dual lens (wide and zoomed in lens)
@@LifeHackster other companies have better compression, so that can't be the only reason. They've always had this issue more than some others.
Would you say it's better than the 4k dual cam?
Personally, yes. I really don't need dual lens in an indoor camera unless I have a pretty big house.
I wish they would come out with cameras that do better than 15fps.
I agree.
Totally agree. They are prioritizing 4K, yet the footage looks rough as soon as there's any motion. 1080 with higher frame rate might be better.
Why can't Eufy have their cameras record at 20 FPS or more during daytime? Even Wyze cams are at 20 FPS.
True. All their cams are only 15 FPS even their wired ones.
Thanks for rhis video. What about your privacy wirh the Eufy app on your phone (do you have Android or Apple?) And do you run both Reolink and Eufy apps side by side.
I use apple and I run multiple security camera apps in my phone.
Not available in the uk
Hopefully, it will be available soon.
Eufy S350 is the next best thing available in the UK
It's now available amazon uk with a £15 discount
Just tried to find it in the uk but not available here unfortunately.
My 2k indoor cam has recently died and would have bought this ☹️

True. I personally will turn this off and will only use preset positions or the panoramic tap during live view when looking for my dog.
Need an indoor cam with jam proof ethernet that works with an NVR, POE.
Not many options for an indoor camera with those features but you could just use an outdoor cam .
Reolink indoor cams..especially their FE model.
I wish Eufy would allow 24/7 recordings to be stored on the cloud. I can see a burglar breaking in and stealing the Homebase.
