as far as I understand it mix army group requires that all 3 unit type be present to activate it so an AG with arty and SH won't activate those bonuses as it is missing an infantry component in it

So I have a question. I found this very informative first off. I currently have all of my 60 points in Coordination. I have liberty and Vanguard maxed and their spare points left in Martyr’s. I run a Liberty MBT and a Vanguard Heli. Now I am working towards getting a Liberty Heli at which time I will reset my points and get away from Vanguard and the Martyr’s and reallocate my points. But, the reason why I pout all my points in Coordination is because I never lead a group. I only join. Should I change my points now or after I get my Lib Heli or have I done it all wrong to start with?

Nope. You can get them from forming or joining army groups
