During my college days in the 1970s in Calcutta, there were several Rabindra Sangeet singers of those days who attempted to sing Rabindra Sangeet in English, which were plain disasters. One such song regularly rendered in English was "tomar holo shuru, amar holo ....... ".
In that case the immortal songs would never get admirers in the wider spectrum. As such Rabindra Sangeet exponents have failed to spread it amongst other than Bengali speaking persons in a big way all these years.
Better not confine this GOLD only in Bangla and Bengalis but Spread through other languages and let alllow people of different cultures to perceive it…❤
