drive her as is, shes a runner goin to town unit. just fix what breaks, new carb maybe, but happy times. emily's smile as she drove that thing was priceless. a good watch, ty
If that is the engine that came with that pan, you can run the numbers stamped under the generator stand on the Block to find year make and model information. Clutch adjustment is really easy, there's a wing nut on the clutch Fork. Just leave a little free play at the top. Awesome video guys, love your Channel:-)
It's so nice to see a young lady get that excited over a project like that. Most women I know just roll their eyes at me and walk away when work on stuff like that. Ya'll have a great marriage, hats off to ya. I see garfiled sitting over in the corner. That would be the ultimate swap meet / road trip machine. Lockable bins for parts and luggage and plenty of room for a motor, hoods fenders etc. Thanks for another cool video.
I bought one almost 10 yrs ago from some guy that had it sitting on his side yard.. Its a kit from 77, on a 74 vw chassis and trans. I have been working on it ever since. Trying to build it in such a way that it will look like the original 35b type. Dad owned 3 of them back in 76 that he used to promote his new business. I 1st learned how to drive a stick driving this around town. My brother used to drive me everywhere, I rode shotgun. Such a FUN CAR! It was very cool showing it off too!!!! Kudos on this purchase! You're going to have a blast running around town! You get looks from EVERYONE!!!
Way cool and fun. Leave it Junky but safe / reliable enough to drive. Driving junk can be fun. Being a challenge to get anywhere is part of the fun. Is there a VIN anywhere on the VW frame, or what's left of it. Might give a clue for a year for brake lines/parts. Wheels look '66-'67 ish. Truly a fun build. Great job!
Your front end has kingpins, which means it is a 65 or earlier. Should be a VIN stamped on the tunnel right in front of inspection cover (and behind shifter). I also had a Bugatti kit like this years ago. So much fun to drive and always gets looks.
So cool! Never forget that keeping a family is work, and no matter how hard the work it will ALWAYS be worth it! Grace, peace, love, joy - in that order!
What great fun! Sometimes projects come along that don't make sense to some...but it's a blast to do them anyway, just because. As far as what to do going forward, why not just have fun with her for a while and let her "speak" to you on what's next. The looks on your faces tells me it's been worth it so far. The new addition to the pit crew is so adorable...another munchkin mechanic! Keep smiling folks.
You can just take the parts back to a local Advanced Auto instead of mailing the return unless you don't have a local store. I worked at AA for near a year and we had that all the time. Just a suggestion. Love the channel
Hello from Australia Luv your bumbiling Try tubing more about what projects you’re working on' it helps me lots when I’m working on the Eruo trash I have bought
some old 40s style "stop" lights would look neat on it as well as a rack for a picnic basket on the top rear, spare on the side, mock up hand crank, and a rack over the fenders to put like a tent an sleeping bags for a camp out would would cool, just couple iders tossed your way
I first watched this site when the boat stern leg troubleshoot was underway. Got hooked by the Emily comment - "Is that a cam or a miss?!" Really like Emily's always positive attitude and balance in life between family, husband, modelling and car mechanics. I've also had a Holden similar to Roxy, being from New Zealand. However I also really like Aaron's wise, strong, quiet, confidant, humble and inner-godliness; Thanks!
My vote would be to make it legal, safe and reliable and have fun driving it some. What you choose to do next will become clear after you drive it for awhile-enjoy! That fuel tank is priceless! The toddler’s first motor sounds were so cute! Good job!
Lily is obviously going to be a gear head just like her aunt. The laughing and giggling during the test drive was priceless! I would love to see it eventually being fixed and painted so it’s kinda pretty.
Great video! I really love that thing. I would that beautiful hunk of metal too. Makes me happy to see you driving finally. Should be able to look up the vin on the pan and find out what year that is. Also the engine number someone else mentioned. Is it ball no I t or link pin front. That would help narrow it down. Again great video and good job!
Don't you just love the new "safety" gas cans. I absolutely hate them. I have that exact same can Emily was trying to fill the Bugatti with. After struggling with it the first time i tried to fill the lawn tractor and getting more gas on the ground than in the mower, I "fixed" my gas can with a zip tie, keeping the handle compressed at all times so i didn't have to fight with it while trying to fill up the mower. Now I just wish it would pour faster.
Always a pleasure to see your video. The Bugatti is shining again, and your K9 is a lovely creature, give it a pat for me. See you next and I share on Twitter.
Bring 'em up right! You have a potential Kid there. Y'all are a ton of fun. Your enthusiasm combined with that (thinly masked) of your spouse, add to that fun factor. I've been an uncle for a long while and it's great to be able to give them back. That's a level of resposibility that I've not experienced. Y'all have fun, stay safe, and above all be blessed.
That is GORGEOUS. I am torn between suggesting leaving the paint completely as-is for patina & what not, and suggesting a Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang inspired paint scheme. If you ever sell it, I want to be first in line!! Congrats on getting it moving (& stopping) under its' own power!
Adjust the idle mixture on the carb and it'll idle properly. Glad to see this crazy project is coming to fruition, looks like a blast! Engine? Build a 2180cc engine with dual port heads and all the hop-up parts used in dune buggy engines of that era. It would REALLY do a burnout then! Your niece is a little sweetie, and you both will make great parents someday! Thanks for the video!
He loves you so much. Its so obvious. While you do what you do.....he backs you up. Not just in your day to day. Its VERY obvious that the two of you are ...a......TEAM
Was going to suggest what to do next to the Bugatti but DANG! How freakin’ cute was the sound of baby Lily bangin’ through the gears?! 🥰 Years from now I think you’ll look back at this episode in the same way you look back the episode from 6 years ago when “the kid” was helping you wash your car. (They grow up fast) 🥲
I am giving props to you hubby for being a bad bad bad ass and knowing shit and just going with your stuff you have a good man! You two are great together much love!
That is such a cool toy! Don't forget the handling is somewhat different with the much wider front track and you need to get used to sitting so far back as well. It will be a blast tho!
Love it! Suggest just a few additions to "clean" it up a bit (like a front splash apron to hide the front cross member and fenders back on) while leaving the patina. Sweet!
Yes please. Get it running better. Put a windshield and a roll cage. I'd love to see that thing sideways on a dirt track. Its awesome looking as is but safer is a must. Keep up the awesome work.
Subbed a while ago, not watched lots, but I really love this wee Bug-atti :) I loves this so much!~ maybe there is a Subi or Porche motor in its future? Just pipe dreaming folks, it is such a sweet ride, I want to see more! Now finished the ride part of the video, and what fun that was! Personally I'd keep the patina, clean it up a bit and seal it, then make a some sort of front end over the suspension/bumper thingy that flows with the over-all design. For clearance on the front fenders, just raise them enough? dunno, can't see too much from here eh, and as to the rear, I'd hammer out some wider wheel fenders (like by 2"-4"), and stick slightly bigger tyres on there. Its such a beauty as is it though, and I think its look is sublime, and that slowly upgrading everything under it, ie. suspension, drive train, brakes, would take it to another level. Thanks for sharing, and a big hi from PNW Canada!
as an official VW nerd, dune buggy owner and all around auto enthusiast and in honor of the late Bruce Meyers ( creator of the Manx dune buggy ) i think you have just experienced " More smiles per Mile !" which VW based cars do the best LOL ... have fun with it... id work all the bugs out get the lights going and have fun with it as is !! thanks for sharing
Hermosa..hermosa...regardless of what proyect you do..with those eyes you Emily can move mountains....lucky Mr Aron!!! ..hey get on boat...love that 5K home run !!!!
My friend Richard has one like this or did all redone. I like to see that you actually get in there and work on it. My daughter is the one that is very into old cars and I do mopeds and cycles
G'DAY Guys, congratulations on getting the replica driving, must be time to name her,as sister to Roxy,Betty I suggest "BERTHA", also a 9 gallon aluminium beer keg, would be my go-to for a fuel tank, likely 40 mm Weber carburettor would assist tuning and idling issues, great job on the recycling,to hear your giggling Emily and to see your smile Aaron, makes this project priceless! As always, Kindest Regards, Dave McLaughlin Queensland Australia
I used to own a Meyers Dune Buggy I don't believe that the pedals were supposed to be one-size-fit-all but a lot of people just drove it that way if you're going to drive it any distance once I ended up driving my Doom buggy up and down the coast of Florida for several years you got to make this sitting situation steering situation and pedal situation comfortable it's just a matter of piddling around with it I ended up with the steering column out of a Chevy Vega with tilt steering in mine great video keep up the good work y'all
That car fits y'all so well in a dorky fun loving kind of way. If it were mine I would give it a paint job but preserving what's there for the patina look would be cool too.
Hi since Borgia is a Replica I would give it a paint job after done with mechanical issues. As usual you & husband doing great work. The Best in 2021. Ed
Another great video! Definitely fix that thing up!! At the very least, I’d like to watch you guys do another paint job in the shop.. Keep up the great work guys!
You can't really "resto" it because it's a kit car. It's not really a Bugatti. So HOT ROD it! But like I said above (or below...) fix all the problems first. Get it to being a reliable driver.
I'll tell you probably an easy mod... put a Super Beetle engine in it. Don't know what's in it now, should be an easy swap tho. Anyways, way back in the day my dad had a beautiful refurbished '72 Super Beetle (which I destroyed one fateful night...) That thing was a BEAST. If you started on a little hill... you could squeal 1st gear and chirp 2nd!
I understand that it's junk, but I would get it back on the road legally, just to be able to drive it. What a grabber. :) Might have to paint it though :)
Agree with the goggles and scave, add in the old style leather (can be faux) helmt. I have one that is used some times when I'm out in the T-bucket. Make it reliable and drive it like it is. That is a neat little car. Your nieces would have a great time learning to drive in it.
Hey Arron here a tip I learned from my grandfather back in the early 60's for a one man brake bleed, requires one 6 0z oil squirt gun and a short piece of brake line hose then you open the Master and hook the hose to the nozzel on the squirt and and fill it with brake fluid then attach the hose to the loosened brake bleeder and squirt the fluid up to the master. easy peasy one man or woman job
I don’t think you could go wrong with that no matter which direction you pick. Have fun it, that’s all that counts. I’ll be eagerly awaiting the next video on it.
That BUGGatti is really coming along nice. Just do a little sanding and primer find the windshield and make it safe (plug gaps, seatbelts bolt check) then send it.
I think it's great that you got it running and are have fun with it. If it were me, now that it is running I would make the chassis into a dune buggy and build or modify another frame, use straight 6 Chevy engine and build a Bugotti replica with that body. I just thing the sound and power of the 6 cylinder would suit the body and "look" better. Just my opinion. My wife and I enjoy watching you guys. Y'all make us feel like we are there and going along for the ride. :)I
If you paint up the chassis and running gear and keep it satin finished black, and do a quick clean-up and satin finish some color of your choice on the body and wheels, but keep it imperfect. White wall striping on tires looked pretty cool. (That’s what I would do, look forward to seeing what you all do though)
Oh. My. Gosh... That car is so funny and Emily you crack me up! So cool to see that little thing scoot three houses down and back 😂 Thank you as always for the awesome content and inspiration to keep at it! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
As the owner of a couple of old bugs I will affirm that they are hard to kill. I once bought two of them for $500 for the pair and over the course of a week took the “best” parts off of them and made one driver. Still had a steering box that was so loose so it was like steering a boat trying to keep it between the lanes but it ran. I drove it for two years in college. Didn’t go far but it got me around town. I sold the remain parts to the junk yard for $250 so I only had about $350 in it after I bought tires and brake shoes.
I have been following this build since the beginning, it looks to me like this was one of your most fun projects ever. There should be a serial number stamped on the floor pan at the center rear of the pan , this will tell you the year of chassis. Enjoy!🎩😄
It is great to see how excited Emily is for this project. Her smile is infectious.
drive her as is, shes a runner goin to town unit. just fix what breaks, new carb maybe, but happy times. emily's smile as she drove that thing was priceless. a good watch, ty
The Bugatti is great but watching you both enjoying it was special. Love your vids
If that is the engine that came with that pan, you can run the numbers stamped under the generator stand on the Block to find year make and model information. Clutch adjustment is really easy, there's a wing nut on the clutch Fork. Just leave a little free play at the top. Awesome video guys, love your Channel:-)
You might be able to do the same from the gearbox numbers.
@Darian Francis Yeah, nobody gives a damn for your obvious spam. GTFO.
It's so nice to see a young lady get that excited over a project like that. Most women I know just roll their eyes at me and walk away when work on stuff like that. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I was laughing and smiling the whole time you were driving her!!! That was awesome!
It's like a big Go-cart. Lots of fun.
Emily, your enthusiasm is contagious! 😂
Your enthusiasm is infectious! Love it. 😉
A pair of vintage looking bucket seats, a set of vintage looking spoked hub caps, and a lick of paint will make a huge difference.
I bought one almost 10 yrs ago from some guy that had it sitting on his side yard..
Its a kit from 77, on a 74 vw chassis and trans.
I have been working on it ever since.

You get looks from EVERYONE!!!
Emily describing the seats .. ' it's not permanent .. but it probably will be ' .. that is so true ( new T shirt slogan ?? )
I was thinking the same. This should be put on a fsg shirt.
T-shirt slogan for ANY car channel on youboob! ROFL!
So cool. Looks like something out of the old wacky racers cartoons.
Cartoons? They did race them in real life... Probably not with VW air cooled engines though.
Great job!
That repurposed seat idea was genius! Looks good too!
That little fun machine brings a smile to my face without even being in it. That's how contagious the fun is!
Such a great little project
Your front end has kingpins, which means it is a 65 or earlier. Should be a VIN stamped on the tunnel right in front of inspection cover (and behind shifter). I also had a Bugatti kit like this years ago. So much fun to drive and always gets looks.
Worth looking into replacing the shifter bushings...probably very worn out.
So cool! Never forget that keeping a family is work, and no matter how hard the work it will ALWAYS be worth it! Grace, peace, love, joy - in that order!

I Love That Car! Keep Working On It. Sounds Great.

That fuel tank is priceless!
The toddler’s first motor sounds were so cute!
Good job!
Being able to use that seat from the trailer to the car is recycling at it's best.
I would have to put some paint on it, that's just me. It wouldn't take much. The wheels looks good!
Lily is obviously going to be a gear head just like her aunt. The laughing and giggling during the test drive was priceless! I would love to see it eventually being fixed and painted so it’s kinda pretty.
luv the fun u 2 have with everything u touch.
Had a bad day. You two had me chuckling I need that Thank You

reminds of building my baja bug in 1995. love it.

Bad to the bone!!!! That looked like fun!!!
Great car. You don't need more car to have fun. Again and again great videos from you. Thanks a lot for this. Greetings from Germany.
Watching Emily drive that car …I just couldn’t stop smiling along with you ! Loved it
It's awesome how much Emily was enjoying the stroll frickin awesome u guys keep em coming!!!!
Amazing how something so simple brings so much joy! Gets the pedals right and enjoy the summer..
Must be fun living in your neighborhood. Something neat always happening. Never change you two!
You have to do it right up and make it look absolutely amazing! A nice paint job and some matching interior would look awesome.
This thing's the best kind of car: it's a pile that makes you smile.
I love that Bronco so much!
He loves you so much. Its so obvious. While you do what you do.....he backs you up. Not just in your day to day. Its VERY obvious that the two of you are ...a......TEAM
Fun to drive, i built that same kitcar from a kit in 1990, had a blast building it too, enjoy
Emily was experiencing pure joy on that drive!
I am giving props to you hubby for being a bad bad bad ass and knowing shit and just going with your stuff you have a good man! You two are great together much love!
To hear it start made my heart fill with joy ! Love it.
That is such a cool toy! Don't forget the handling is somewhat different with the much wider front track and you need to get used to sitting so far back as well. It will be a blast tho!
Hanging out with you two is so much fun!
I would just fix the issues and send it....scarf and googles all the way....lol
Just make sure you don't end up doing an "Isadora Duncan"
Bonnie lass this video made my day thank you.
Was that an imperial or metric adjustable spanner that Aaron was using??
GLAD YOU TWO ARE HAVING SO MUCH FUN ITS GREAT TO SEE YOU TWO 👍
Congratulations from Germany. It is a real success. The engine sounds very good.
Ok, great... now I want one. Great episode, ya'll are awesome, thanks!!
So much FUN! This Vid put a Big Smile on My Face!!!
as an official VW nerd, dune buggy owner and all around auto enthusiast and in honor of the late Bruce Meyers ( creator of the Manx dune buggy ) i think you have just experienced " More smiles per Mile !" which VW based cars do the best LOL ... have fun with it... id work all the bugs out get the lights going and have fun with it as is !! thanks for sharing
Yes another Flying Sparks video!!!!! I also have a "VW" project that I am working on. I have a Limited Edition Signature Series Meyers Manx :)
My daughter is the one that is very into old cars and I do mopeds and cycles
slowly make it better. i couldn't stop smiling for you guys
that thing is so cool! and it is also nice to see the bronco is doing well!

The haloed figure on one shoulder says "pristine resto". The horned figure on the other shoulder says "HOT ROD!"
Definitely the latter. Needs a big motor in it (122ci plus). Would be a right laugh with that sort of poke in the back end 😆
It needs a Saab V4 and im not sure why the saab V4 popped in my head but it would be lite and very cool.
@@timothydockery534 with a new flywheel and a adapter plate the Subaru 4 cylinder is the best bet plus minimum 3 times the hp of the VW motor

So much joy, I love it!
You two give me so much joy!!
I don’t think you could go wrong with that no matter which direction you pick. Have fun it, that’s all that counts. I’ll be eagerly awaiting the next video on it.
As long as it makes you guy's happy just goofing with it . It's great so far.
That BUGGatti is really coming along nice. Just do a little sanding and primer find the windshield and make it safe (plug gaps, seatbelts bolt check) then send it.
Find more parts around the shop to put on it like you did for the seat cool ride looks fun
Love it!! I agree with Robert, y'all need goggles and scarves!!
areful with scarves, google Isadora Duncan
her scarf got caught by her cars wheels
it looks like a great time driving it. drive it like it is !
Make it better while driving it! Yall were mentioned on Sarah n Tuned in conjunction with the Peak thing! Little niece is cute as heck!
That is a cool car! I love the gas tank and where it sits in the car!
#2 gasket maker available at any parts store is fuel resistant. Some people call it aviation thread sealer. JD
If you paint up the chassis and running gear and keep it satin finished black, and do a quick clean-up and satin finish some color of your choice on the body and wheels, but keep it imperfect. Oh. My. Gosh... That car is so funny and Emily you crack me up! So cool to see that little thing scoot three houses down and back 😂 Thank you as always for the awesome content and inspiration to keep at it! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
The BugSplatti LIVES! PLEASE Put a Roll Bar on it!
As is, as safely as possible. Thanks for sharing!
Enjoy!🎩😄
