As a car guy, I enjoy any channel that has to do with cars ... a past VW guy, any VW powered car touches my heart ... that said .... Emily keeps me coming back ... those eyes and that smile .... knock my socks off!
A little tip for working with those lug bolts. Get one started and snugged up, then spin the tire to get that bolt at the 12 o’clock position. This should allow the other 4 to line up close enough and you don’t have to fight to hold the wheel up and get the bolts started. My Dad used to have a VW based buggy and I helped quite a bit over the years. He showed me that trick the first time I tried to mount the fronts.

So much fun through vicarious watching of you folks having so much fun! That is an awesome little beasty, so much potential to become even more, keep the vids coming I quite enjoyed this one. I have only one initial suggestion and that is that you figure out some way to do a couple of 'neck-saver' roll-bars behind some safe seats and seal off the engine from the cockpit, oh wait, dats more than one, okay a couple, oh, some decent shocks and a wee lift, 1800 or so turbo charged motor, run the exhaust forwrd into the side pipes..... ok ok ok I go now...

These replicas are/ have been quite common here in Germany. Mostly due to the chassis - of course: VW Käfer
You should choose a tire with a high side profile, especially on an "Pendelachse" rear end: that changes camber very extreme. Like more than a 60, like 65/70%. e.g. 185/70-15" works great in the front. 155 is original equipment.

I had a vw buggy with a Corvair transplant for double + HP. Highway speeds no problem. Handled as good as any VW would.. And ran decent...

I never saw an American havin so much fun in a car before (don't be rude now gents)! Awesome Emily. I remembered how we had such fun when we were kids. All the cars around here were less than 180 hp and it was a mad hoot to cane about the beach or paddocks in an old Hunter or Corolla. VW's were a bit too flash to do that with unless we were rich people. Humber 80's and old Rover 75,or 90's were heavy gutless and pretty humorous too. Great wee hoon around the layby Miss, wish I could have had a go! 🏆👍❤️😂

I wonder if the stud vs. lug nut thing on the VW is a German thing? I don't remember what my '79 beetle had but my Mercedes has studs. It also has an alignment pin to help in putting the tire back on.

VW wheels love to come off when the lug bolts are touching painted surfaces. I'm not a fan of reversing the wheels, but take the time to sand off the paint below the lugs.
In the old days, we would buy stripped bugs for $50.00. No fenders, no hood, just a homemade water pipe roll Cafe. Tie a rope to the trunk lid, put on a helmet and hold on as your buddy tried to shake you off in the field.
Think of it as dry land, tubing.😂

If you get a long bolt with that same metric pattern, 14mm 1.5 maybe? Cut the head off the bolt then use it as a guide pin to hold the wheel while you start the other bolts. Learned that 40 years ago with Benz... :)!

I love the proportions of the car. The front axle is so far out front. Classic vintage sports car. I think I prefer it with the front mudguards.

Is Errin also lubricating the brakes when he lubes the wheel nuts? (Looks like the wheels attach to the brake drums).
Two thumbs up, i built that car from a kit back in 1980, had a lot of fun too, not that vary one but the same
So do the 2006 S60 Volvo big pain in the butt to put a tire on. Found out recently there is a. stud that has the same thread put this on first and than you put the tire on to hold somewhat in place
That is one of the coolest and most well executed VW-based contraptions that I've ever seen.

If you do put front fenders back on, consider front fenders off the new Indian Chief. I like the swooping lower rear edge they use.

If you plan to keep on throwing it sideways under full throttle, you might want to see if there is anything underneath that you can bolt or weld a couple of headache tubes to and attach a couple of simple bucket seats and accompanying seat harnesses to. I would guess that it wouldn't be impossible to flip it if you tried hard enough. Looks like a WHOLE LOT of FUN.
