I love how y'all make excuses for MM. But no one's brings up the fact that the only reason he even closed the gap because the Reff kept calling unfair stall calls on Car. Car was definitely better wrestler and he won like he should have
You just said they’re making a bunch of excuses. While I agree they seem to be wrong about the Carr match. I think Carr would’ve won regardless. But an undeniable fact is that Carr rides the edge a lot, Mesenbrink doesn’t. MM has beaten EVERYONE here by BONUS besides Sammy Sasso. (Every top guy.) Him not being a favorite would be laughable. He’s winning and as they said, I’d be shocked if he didn’t get hodge. If AND ONLY if Sammy Sasso is back to form, he still doesn’t beat MM. he’s good and he could very well AA. But even if he is by some miracle at 100% he wouldn’t win. Now he’s not at 100%, he’s at MAX 90% and even that might not be true. He was shot and is going up two weight classes, conditioning is going to be difficult. He physically won’t be able to keep up with Mesenbrink’s pace. As much as that sucks to say.
Like when he got dominated in the big 10 finals, and got lucky. Everyone now thinks he's just straight up better than dean , which is definitely not the case. If they wrestled 5 times like year , dean is winning at least 3
I would actually say the opposite. That Mesenbrink was having a bad match and Hamiti was lucky, in the beginning. Mitch made the finals while Hamiti didn’t even AA. Hamiti lost to Carr 5-0, and even if you take away stall points, Mitch was still closer to Carr than Hamiti was. Then Hamiti loses to Olejnik, who then loses to Caliendo, who Mesenbrink beat 17-9.
I mean Caliendo beat him 9-4 in February. I think Beau has a bright future but to say he’s the #2 (or #3) guy in the weight right now, might be a stretch.
@@michaellong25959-4 isn’t that much of a blow out when up against a TRUE freshman. I think he can grow. Whether or not he takes 2nd I think isn’t true.
Calling Caliendo overrated is laughable. Please stop typing. He’s an AA as a true freshman at a smaller school. That alone tells you he’s not bad. Now he’s at Iowa with good training partners. He’s noticeably gotten better each year too. He’s “overrated” but he’s beaten Cam Amine… the starter over Beau Mantanona… then beat Beau himself… like be serious bro.
@@xzjayz7925 Agreed. But it’s interesting who he lost to and who he beat. Won some good matches; Tanner Cook, Caleb Fish, Maxx Mayfield, but also had some losses; Dean Hamiti (2x), Maxx Mayfield, Dalton Harkins, Bryce Hepner and Mikey Caliendo. I think he has a bright future, but I still think he’s a lower tier All American at this point in his career.
@@giacalonebuilding4443 Maybe I’m putting too much stock into his U20 World Team Trials performance where he lost the best 2 out of 3 to Dee Lockett. Lockett is of course an incredible wrestler who would finish second at U20 Worlds and it is freestyle rather than folkstyle. But the point stands that Lockett got teched against Mesenbrink at the Olympic Team Trials. I know you’re not saying Beau beats Mitch, but I’m not sure I’ve seen enough to justify him as a top 3 wrestler at 165

Do you think MM will not win an NCAA title this year? Do you think MM is not the favorite for this weight?

The MM hate is real. Good video as always! Wonder how these guys pan out besides MM. I hope Meyer or MM win hodge (I’m biased).

Mantanona is a dog. If he is on opposite side as Mitch he gets 2nd, same side he takes 3rd. Caliendo is over rated.

Answer the question. Who at that weight can beat MM? Since he’s so overrated
