In this video I had so much fun. This process amazes me every time that we do these videos. The fun part for me is taking This Turbo spray paint and turning an old paint job into a custom paint job for very little money. The total cost for paint material on this bed side was $55.00, that is amazing. I tried to make a simple process for teaching you to be able to paint your car cheap and have fun while painting. Hope this video helps you and if you have any questions, please comment in the video. Hope you have a Blessed day God Bless Adrian at AC Designs Garage!!!

I plan to respray my wife's impala with white turbo cans and 2k clear. Can't beat a rattle can paint job if it is done right and the proper prepwork was put in.. I remember spraying a datsun truck my step-dad bought for me to drive for $300 and it ended up re-selling for over a grand after I painted it.
Awesome, I love those Datsuns!!
Great job thanks for taking the time to do a video I appreciate it and I know there's a lot more people out there and appreciate it too.Thank you!
Thank you very much for taking the time to watch!!!!
Great video! Always enjoy watching them! Always keep learning new things!
Thank you for the kind words!!!!
In here for the Super Duper shine
Shell shine on this weeks Friday night video for sure
Love that tool! Worth it! 👍
Thank you!!!
Great DIY .... Solid white paint tho, looks like a thousand birds pooed at the same time
She's bright lol
Great job! Ninja of the rattle can.
Hahaha thank you!!!
Great info as usual. I'm the guy with the white Regal. Think I'm going to try to finish up the couple panels with clear that I missed. It's going to be in low 70's around Tuesday. Should be warm enough to finish the hood , nose fender and door. Don't you think 🤔. Can't wait to see how your cut and buff comes out. Take care Buddy.
Awesome Man, you sound like me watchin the weather to paint lol. Yeah you should be good to go it was like 60 degrees when zi painted this one. I can't wait to see that car finished, she gonna be bad!!!!
Great job, AC. I painted my beetle over the summer with 2X rustoleum gloss white and 2K spraymax. It can totally be done and look good. Using solid colors is the key. Not sure metallic rattle cans would look as good. Only reason I didn't use turbos is cuz of the orange peel. Took longer with regular cans but it was way smoother. Now that I know flat turbo cans don't have too much peel, I'm definitely painting my next beetle flat black and 2k clear over it.
Man I bet that looks awesome!!! Your right the turbos dump a ton of paint causing peel, I want to do my truck but I'll use the 2x cans!!!!
Did you use the regular 2x white cans or the acrylic enamel white and red automotive cans? I assume the automotive ones but wanted to ask. Reviews are mixed on the automotive cans.
@@66chevelle1 I used the Painter's Touch 2X. The high gloss white. I saw someone else use the Painter's Touch with good results so I just replicated their process. Worked great. 10 minutes between coats of white. Then straight to clear, 10 minutes between coats. Light first coat and then two wet coats for base and clear. Came out nice. Almost don't even have to cut and buff. Spraymax lays out real smooth. I painted my beetle in pieces. Way easier. Fenders one day. Trunklid and decklid another. Inside another. etc, etc. Took me a few weeks.
Thank you. My wife wants to paint the dash and doors of her 70 C10.
I wanna see the grey. I love the color the manufacturers are using nowadays. And it looks like primer grey to me.
I think I dig em also, toyota has a awesome grey
Thanks for the video. Looks like no need to let white cure and sand before clear coating. No wrinkling or lifting which was a big concern. I’ve watched other videos that let rustoleum enamel dry for a few days and then sand 1000 grit then 2K clear. This will save lots of time and sanding.
Thank you
Thank you, I always try to do a test pannel first to make sure lol. So far I've not had any trouble doing it this way.
Hey man awesome thank you been waiting on this video.
Awesome hope you enjoyed it!!!
@ Cant wait to see it wet sanded and buffed. I have a Camaro z28 convertible I’m going to paint the whole car like this on my TH-cam channel.
Way to go!
Thank you!!!!
Ok another great video keep em coming also can you post your buddy Dan info like to see what he's got thanks
would love to see the Metalic spray can that you used in the other video, but with 2k clear over it
Great idea I'll have to try to make a video on that!!!
Can shaker ❤
Great video, thanks for this
Thank you for watching!!!
Im almost tempted to do this to my project car..only id use a 2k clear shot from a actual spray gun.
..Id just worry about that rattle can base coat.
Not sure id trust spray paint as my main thing thats holding the paint job to the car.
Its a heck of alot more work if it didn't work out on a whole car though😅
Regardless i like that you put these videos out. This is something intriguing to me and im going to give it a try on a small project i have first.
Im repainting a snap on tool box i got with black rustoleum "automotive grade" paint.
I think I'll try this spray can 2k clear out.
I will say shooting the 2k clear through a gun is 100 times easier lol so if you can I would. Thanks for the comment!!!
The white hides the dents but that black side still shines like the Sun. Lesson is if you use the black, better be sure to do the bodywork.
It does do that for sure, that white is blinding in the sun lol
My ? Is when u get the turbo cans . Have you seen that fan tip be curved inward in the middle area ? Is that by design or something we need to check and address if found that way ? Thanks great video
I haven't seen that, all mine are curved outward.
I painted my sons college chevy cobalt & thank God its holding up in the TX weather. It hurt me when you painted over the Blk paint job LOL LOL . How much are the spray shakers??
Awesome ,if that paint holds up in TX it will last anywhere!!! Hahaha the black is my favorite also. The Shakers are $45.00+ shipping on www.acdesignsgarage.com
It would be cool if you used the rustoluem but from a quart & thin it it down with acetone maybe hardener then shot it with the spray gun. O well thinking out loud. Just to see if both paints will get along or react to each other??
Great idea, I may try that
Takes too long to dry
Have you tried using the spray can handle attachments so it is more like a spray gun?
Not in years, the old ones use to pop off but maybe the new ones are better!!!
Only thing I hate about the turbo cans is the nozzle will clog up if you let it set only for a minute I used 13 cans to prime a 98 GMC Sierra extended cab third door 6' bed and had to make sure that I had new cans for the nozzles 😮😮😮😮😮
Can you show how to run a 2-tone strip down the middle, like the 1970's chevy pick up?
That's a great Idea, I may try that!!!!
It’s all good Bro, ever since you first gave us a demo right up until now….
Thank you very much!!!
There are turbo cans of clear out there in the wild but not 2k hardness.
I finally found them the other day, I thought about doing a comparison video between the turbo and the 2k
You should've done a 2 tone paint job Blk & the middle white then clear it.
I was thinking about doing that soon
If i need to do the top of a pickup that has rusted, what procedure do i need to do? Do i need etching primer after sanding? The color is black. Thanks
Yes I would strip it down to bare metal then treat if with some of that Ospho rust converter. Then you have 2 options, I like epoxy primer with the hardner, I think spray max has some. Or you can etch prime it. Let that dry ,scuff it with 180 grit then shoot some high build primer on it, the rustoleum automotive sandable is pretty good, then sand with 320 grit then red scotch brite ,then shoot the color!!
Is it bad practice to maybe do 4 coats of base then sand the orange peel. Then come back with the 2k a week later? To have more clear to cut and buff? Or does it bond better to do it all at once. Since I have never painted a car, maybe I wont be rushed tying to do base and clear all at once. Thanks for any input on this.
I've done both, the advantage to wetsanding the base color is if you get trash, bugs and other stuff you can sand it out and touch it up before you clear. Also it cuts down on the peel when you sand the base color down before clear. I'd say if you have the time I'd paint the base color then sand it then clear and cut and buff!! But the other way is good also, I'd do what ever you comfortable with!!!!
@ Good deal...thanks for the reply and you do great job of breaking it down where I feel like I can tackle it. I'm going to do a Mustang convertible in white and my kids car paint the top black on his Mustang.
Great videos brother! Have you tried any of the metallic colors? I’ve thought about the soft iron color for an old jeep xj.
I did a spray out on a fender for a video last year but I didn't clear it. I may try to make another one with the 2k clear!!!
@@ACDesignsGarage ok I’ll watch it here later, be cool to see how it turns out! Thanks brother.
If you get tired of test panels i can bring my 1986 f150 up from Charleston and you can paint it!
Hahaha I hear ya, I have a few projects I need to paint myself
@ACDesignsGarage hey I had to try! And if you change your mind it's a single cab and my standards are low!
i wanna paint my vehicle, but i have too do it outside. what do you do when you get a bug in it? sorry for the dumb question, never painted before...
Its tough to do it outside but its possible, the best thing is to paint it a dark color, you cant see the bugs lol. If it's not cleared you can dig it out with a razorblade then spray some paint in a small cup, then get a tooth pick and start filling the hole up with the paint. It may take a while let it set up between coats. Build ut up a smidge higher then the rest of the paint, let it dry a day or so, sand it with a block with 1500 grit wet till flat then jump up to 2500 grit wet then buff the area.
@@ACDesignsGarage thanks!
What’s your feelings or opinion on Popy’s patina clearcoat
I actually have some, it's under the @vicegripgarage brand I'm going to do a video on, so I'll let you know!!!
Are those Ansen Slots in the bed of that truck???
I asked to but I said slotted mags
I think 2 of them are , there mixed matched. I think the others are appliance slots not 100%
There mixed matched , maybe appliance and anson slots
Can u wet sand cut and buff
Glad you asked lol yes that will be this Friday evening video!!!
How many cans of clear and turbo to do a whole truck?
I'm not sure If I was gonna a do a whole truck I'd buy 8 to be safe, you may not use them all. I figure a can per pannel. You can always take the un used back for a refund.
buy one of the vevor airless sprayers for 30 dollars and make a vid with that (HPLV GUN NO AIR COMPRESSOR REQUIRED)
That would be the trick there
Here’s some help for that loud harbor freight DA.

Thanks for the tip!!!
No problem, you’re out here helping diy guys, so any info shared is awesome.!
You guys don’t realize what a mess your making for the next poor soul who’s going to have to clean up that rust oleum garbage paint. Rust oleum is the worse crap spray paint sold in stores. People are going to say it looks great and it’s protected with clear coat. It’s not like a premium auto paint it doesn’t bond strongly it has no UV ray protection and wrinkles with heat and scratches easy. I wish you modern so called Rod and Custom shops that are really back in my day called alley mechanics just get away from doing this your just screwing it up for the next poor guy!
Hey Perrywinkle Nobody asked for your 2 cents 😂
@Say something that makes sense if you’re going to take the time to reply! Anyone can post something stupid I mean come on?
@ You can take a dull stainless steel kitchen spatula and basically scrap that nasty shit off of any surface if it has time to sit in a temperature at 90 degrees. And total opposite cold temperatures it’s the same and it doesn’t flake off like normal paint it gels and pushes until you have a ball of paint. Shitoleum has been around for a long time easily accessible and I’ve learned my lesson it’s just garbage. The new primer/paint Krylon in the can is much much better than shitoleum. It’s way more superior but doesn’t come in a turbo form.
