saw this at retail and passed too. To the point about comparing to a 25 yr whisky. I look at this as a 7 yr aged spirit. Hard to ask for that price for anything with such a young aging.

I have a 7 year tequila and it's pretty special. Don't know that I'd pay $500 for one but maybe if it was straight from the barrel and cask strength like mine. Mine was also sold way below a market price because the distillery owner hooked me up.
Nice review! I have a standard G4 extra Anejo that’s awesome! This one sounds awesome too! All my Hispanic friends say it’s not pronounced G4 but something like Hay Quattro? What’s it called in Mexico? Just Tequila?
I feel that XA tequilas are dangerously close to drinking whiskey\bourbon and does not justify the price. I'm better served with the high proof blancos. G4 is still at the top of my list.
Would be awesome if you do a blind tasting with a good extra Añejos like Arette XA Don Fulano XA D’antaño by 7 Leguas XA Tapatio XA Diablito from 123 Organic XA and see if really win the contest
Hell no. No msrp tequila at >$500 in my house ever. I'm sure it is great, but I'll take two tears of llorona 1 ltr's and a tequila ocho just to get to the $500 mark.

Boys no KAP - if you say it's worth it if you have the money, it is DEFINITELY worth it if you DON'T. Sounds like a 4-5 to me. I mean what's $200 more than Tears anyway right? ;)
Don't justify the cost with "well, it took this long for this and this long for that." A price tag of almost $500 is absolutely unacceptable and showcases the greed of the pipeline and the predatory tactics they use to take advantage of people's fomo. Well somebody will pay it, and that's why prices continue to soar. We need to vote with our wallets but some people just can't help themselves.
So it's not the best ever for Aroma? But they bump up to a 10? How can you say that, a 10 is the best you have ever experienced and nothing else beats it
Buying one doesn't mean it is a 'value'. You can be really into something and be objective in relation to others. No $500 spirit should be anything other than a 0. Leave the bonus points for actual value drinks.
@@aaabbbccc543 barley grows a lot faster than the agave plant. I agree with you to a certain degree, but also see the flipside of growing agave vs a grain.

Wish it was cheaper. If it was more affordable I’d buy. I prefer a spirit with great mouth feel with flavor that sticks to your pallet.

I had the chance to get this for $450 but decided that the ROI was better spent on resupplying my Tears and Rey Sol for $80 more.
