- Feathers!! Oh How I love to quilt them!
This has been such a fun little project. Simple Table Runner and fantastic quilting has made this a great piece! I just love free motion longarm quilting! The variegated thread really spiced it up! I love how it matched the fabric so well.
Start with big curls then start filling in. There were some tricky spots to fill in with the feather. Yes, even I have to stop and think about where I'm going. And you get to see all the little imperfections on this because I'm using a dark thread on light fabric.
If you are struggling with your back tracking or just don't want all those imperfections to show, be sure to match your thread to the fabric.
This was done on my non-computerized Gammill in Manual/constant mode 46. Warm n white batting. Omni V thread. No marking.

I thought I wasn't a fan of variegated thread before this, but it's so beautiful here. And I love the backtracking; it adds to the interest of the design when it's done well like it is here. So, so pretty. Now I want to make a table runner! Thanks for another awesome video.

I love the feathers in the tight vine curls...makes me think of a peony bud. Beautiful thread! This makes me want to make a table runner or lap quilt with a lot of white, just to do all over quilting with feathers and swirls. So very much enjoying your videos!

Your videos and demonstrations have grown my quilting leaps and bounds. The pro I keep struggling with is backtracking. I can’t stay on the line for nothing. I can do beautifully on paper so im close. Any ideas?
Sometimes adding weight to your longarm machine can help.... do you have a rice bag or something to set on top???

@@doreenhammond1779 I don't have experience quilting on a sitdown and only a little on a domestic. Back tracking is hard on any quilting. I would practice lots of curls!!

Hey Ms. Adria--is there a difference in Omni versus Glide versus King Tut or some other thread or is it personal choice?? And sigh...one of these days when I grow up, I want to be able to quilt just like you...oh, and may I ask what music you used with this video?? Verrrrrry relaxing!!!
They are different weights. My machine really likes Omni V and I don't have to change my tension. King tut is a thicker thread. Glide is thinner👍

No marks, just wing it🥰💕💕💕 you could mark, or practice on paper. I use the long paper from my Batting roll sometimes 😊
