Be persistent and gentle and interact with your bird a good deal. Some cockatiels take a while to trust. Hand feed a palatable treat and a small amount several times a day. You also can make a point of talking and interacting when you feed and water and change the bedding in the cage. Other than that just be gentle and persistent.
My cockatiels do not eat any fruits or vegetables whenever I give them what should I do?
Zayaan, you can give them a treat like millet (most love it) or sunflower seeds.

Great video Danny - so true! My adult cockatiel loves millet but is also afraid of hands. He will only let me touch him ever so slightly if he’s eating his treat but I want to gain his trust so I don’t do this often. He will step up to a hand held perch but will only step up to my hand or finger with one foot. I did get him to step up to my finger once but he was nipping at my finger so I knew he wasn’t really comfortable with it.

I adopted a cockatiel on Saturday aswell as a budgie same day. Today my cockatiel ate from me but my budgie sadly didn't. I will keep doing this and hopefully they trust me!

I tried paying attention to what my bird likes to eat but I found out he likes to eat Froot Loops, pencil lead, and salty chips (and pretty much anything salty that he’s not supposed to eat) ;-;

Hey denny the budgie! I wanted to say this from lot of days!..... My parrot mikki which i told u about in the video "Cookatail slept in flower pot". He died 3 weeks ago. We tried every single thing to save him. But... they failed. He started to become black and sick. He would talk to me sit on my hand dance with me...... but... its gods choice. Faith is something that can change anytime. If we are lucky, faith can change to unlucky...

i need help. my cockatiel distrusts me so much it attacks my hand if it's roughly 30cm near him. i have had him for 3 years and he's a grumpy little sh still
I don't know when mine will trust me, but I'll just keep giving him some treats everyday.
It doesn't matter if he doesn't want me touching him, I just like to see him do stuff.
It would still be nice if I could touch him some day, but I don't mind.

I can't have my cockatiels in the home because my parents let them outside so taming is difficult. I successfully made one of cockatiel step on a stick i have in hand to reach a treat he likes. Should i continue?
My cockatiel will only step up onto a perch I hold. She really doesn't like to be touched. Another cockatiel I had used to yell at me to give her neck skritches. And when she shared the cage with this other bird, she would preen her. Birds, like people, can be so different from each other.

I see as a treat suggested it looks like bread or biscuits, beware I gave mine a piece of biscuit and she lost so many feathers as some kind of a reaction. Anyone else experience this?

If you have access to millet offer your bird longer sprigs so it doesn't have to be near your hand then very slowly start shortening the distance between bird and hand once it associates you with treats.

What fruits are not good for a cockatiel.
Mangoes,cantaloupe,apricots,nectarines,peaches apples,bananas,grapes,oranges btw if any of the fruits have seeds do not feed the seeds it may be dangerous
