Before ever discovering Amsoil I have tried Motul on some occasions and it is an excellent brand especially on farm equipment involving differentials and generators but the Amsoil products are much smoother, no, considerably more smoother than the Motul. Would still use Motul and if not possible for a certain viscosity, Shell, but now an Amsoil convert.

Yeah I would definitely run that if I was doing racing. If you're not racing I mean there's a lot of different oils you can run you can run the signature series 0w-40. I think you will save your motor if you're doing racing with the Dominator racing oil that's what I would run☕️👍

Personally love Motul I use the xcess gen 2 5w40 in my WRX STI and had great oil analysis with black stone. But I made the switch to Puröl recently you should check them out

Amsoils the best motor oil in the world out of Superior Wisconsin first and synthetics in 1972 Signature Series oil is good for one year and well over 25,000 MI if you do oil analysis and change the filter you can go upwards to 35,000 miles on some vehicles but you do have to do oil analysis and you have to make sure there's no field dilution it's the best oil in the world. Each oil is built for a specific application There are differences in additive packages anti-wear packages dispersants for each specific formula and depending on what its indicated for and the application and the specifications it meets. Amsoil does make a product called Signature Series which is quite a bit better in cold flow and that one is designed for most vehicles. Amsoil specifically builds the formula to be best performing for European vehicles for that specific specification and it meets and exceeds everything for the each spec and it's 100% synthetic and it has a lot better film strength than the other motor oils and I did a test on my own car 15,500 miles of city driving averaging 23 miles an hour here in Las Vegas this shows real world example of how great AMSOIL is and how it is the best value out of any motor oil in the world that I am aware of. So you compare it to oils with a difference of the temperature of four Celsius degrees 44 and 48 and it is obvious that the colder one in this case Amsoil will flow slower. This is kind of pointless.

Not a very good comparison. You had the Motul at -44 vs Amsoil -48 basically-4 degrees colder. You used Motul 8100 which isn’t a fair comparison to the classic. Amsoils signature series 0w40 would have been a better comparison to the 8100 Motul. They both should be at -44 no more no less to make it fair.
Oh yeah the surface temp can vary but deep inside they're pretty close they both were in the freezer for the same amount of time so what you see is what you get they're very similar but of course there's always going to be small variations nothing's perfect LOL
I actually didn't care for Motul. I had more wear metals in my oil than with Amsoil. On top of that. There are tests that show that Motul has a worse Noack (evaporation) results, and so on. With amsoil I don't even use half a quart of 5W-40 in my GTI at 5,000 miles. And I see less crap in my used oil than anything else.
Of course that's the additive packages which help with ware metals and putting a film on the components. That's what makes Amsoil so good is the protection 👍😃

It could a little bit however they are in there in the same exact temperature for over 5 hours and the core temperature is basically the same meaning the exterior warms up as air hits it but the internal core temperatures are within a degree too and they're very consistent

Oh yeah so the difference is the cold flow protection the zero w40 would be ideal for instance if you lived in Michigan or Canada that's what they would run so that's why I chose to show the best mobile and the best Amsoil one that are 040 as you can see they're very close. Obviously themselves was a little bit colder but then again they were so close it's unbelievable. The 5W-40 is most widely used and that's what I run here in Las Vegas but if I lived in Michigan or Chicago I would definitely run the 0W-40 They meet and exceed the same specification Porsche a spec and a lot of the other specifications you'll see on the technical data bulletin under product

You got to realize as it warms up from the freezer the surface can be a little bit different but as far as the core temperature inside is very similar nothing to be alarmed about.

I changed from Castrol to Motul 5w-40, in my E46 320d and it's noticably better. Castrol declined in quality lately.

Personally love Motul I use the xcess gen 2 5w40 in my WRX STI and had great oil analysis with black stone. But I made the switch to Puröl recently you should check them out

So witch oil is better? I have switched to Amsoil from Lquimolly.
Amsoils the best motor oil in the world out of Superior Wisconsin first and synthetics in 1972 Signature Series oil is good for one year and well over 25,000 MI if you do oil analysis and change the filter you can go upwards to 35,000 miles on some vehicles but you do have to do oil analysis and you have to make sure there's no field dilution it's the best oil in the world.

Hey Andy I recommend getting a Wix filter They are a great substitute and they're good for about 7,000 mi.
You can always get themselves filter once it gets back in stock and if you want to know when they will be I recommend calling Amsoil ordering They should have some info on that.

Each oil is built for a specific application There are differences in additive packages anti-wear packages dispersants for each specific formula and depending on what its indicated for and the application and the specifications it meets.
Amsoil does make a product called Signature Series which is quite a bit better in cold flow and that one is designed for most vehicles.
Amsoil specifically builds the formula to be best performing for European vehicles for that specific specification and it meets and exceeds everything for the each spec and it's 100% synthetic and it has a lot better film strength than the other motor oils and I did a test on my own car 15,500 miles of city driving averaging 23 miles an hour here in Las Vegas this shows real world example of how great AMSOIL is and how it is the best value out of any motor oil in the world that I am aware of.

So you compare it to oils with a difference of the temperature of four Celsius degrees 44 and 48 and it is obvious that the colder one in this case Amsoil will flow slower. This is kind of pointless.
Thank you for your opinion I respect that this is no perfect test it is just to show the basic differences of lubricants so people can understand they're not all the same.

Not a very good comparison. You had the Motul at -44 vs Amsoil -48 basically-4 degrees colder. You used Motul 8100 which isn’t a fair comparison to the classic. Amsoils signature series 0w40 would have been a better comparison to the 8100 Motul. They both should be at -44 no more no less to make it fair.
Oh yeah the surface temp can vary but deep inside they're pretty close they both were in the freezer for the same amount of time so what you see is what you get they're very similar but of course there's always going to be small variations nothing's perfect LOL
I actually didn't care for Motul. I had more wear metals in my oil than with Amsoil. On top of that. There are tests that show that Motul has a worse Noack (evaporation) results, and so on. With amsoil I don't even use half a quart of 5W-40 in my GTI at 5,000 miles. And I see less crap in my used oil than anything else.
Of course that's the additive packages which help with ware metals and putting a film on the components.
That's what makes Amsoil so good is the protection 👍😃

Oil consumption really doesn't strongly correlate with Noack volatility. Most oil consumption isn't caused by evaporative losses.
@@BC08 The higher the Noack the more evaporation will accure. The lower the Nocak the less will Accure. Granted, this also depends on the health of your car engine in the first place.
Motul 8100 has more Pao than Amsoil euro but it's also more expensive so that makes sense.
I've gotta say the Amsoil wins again! This was a closer one than some others...BUT....nothing beats the liquid gold!!

It could a little bit however they are in there in the same exact temperature for over 5 hours and the core temperature is basically the same meaning the exterior warms up as air hits it but the internal core temperatures are within a degree too and they're very consistent
I never use ams oil i always use mot and thats why. Ams oil is over priced, castrol advanced full synthetic is way better then ams oil

The European spec oils are superior to our CAFE driven oils. I’ve been using Castrol edge 0w-40 in my 18 F150.

European spec oils are designed to be sheer stable for those extended change intervals,hence much thicker. Without it the oil wouldn't last as long.

Oh yeah so the difference is the cold flow protection the zero w40 would be ideal for instance if you lived in Michigan or Canada that's what they would run so that's why I chose to show the best mobile and the best Amsoil one that are 040 as you can see they're very close.
Obviously themselves was a little bit colder but then again they were so close it's unbelievable.
The 5W-40 is most widely used and that's what I run here in Las Vegas but if I lived in Michigan or Chicago I would definitely run the 0W-40 They meet and exceed the same specification Porsche a spec and a lot of the other specifications you'll see on the technical data bulletin under product
Everytime ur cheap ass oil looses u make some kind of bs excuse and the temp for the motul was not 42 lol.
The inside temperature of the oil is about negative 51° C the freezer kicks on at negative 5150 C and then it goes off at about negative 53.

Cold flow test with 2 different Temps lol hey ill test corvette and mustang run 87 gas in one and 91 in the other a couple points of octane won't matter right. Shit test.
You got to realize as it warms up from the freezer the surface can be a little bit different but as far as the core temperature inside is very similar nothing to be alarmed about.
