    I did both seals today thanks to your video. You're a lifesaver!!! The Triumph dealer quoted me $1000 for the job I just did. Thank you so much.

    Great video! Thank you! I’m 150 miles from the dealership, so this has been very helpful. I have some slop in the front suspension and suspect I need to replace the bushings (along with the seals), so I was dreading having to haul my bike to the dealership.
    Again, thank you for your time and effort.

    Long video but shows exactly how to do it with no breaks and no "suddenly" something is out. One thing I did notice though, you didn't put a crush washer in the bottom of the fork. I'll have to make a tool to fit the fork seals as I'm not buying a set for one job.

    Excellent video in plain speak. Between this and the manual i should be good.

    Straight away I can see that you haven't supported the 2 front brake calipers which are just hanging and putting pressure on the brake lines. Most people use bungee straps to support them.

      I understand Some people do Feel the need to use them The brake lines are new, there's no Chance of damaging the lines. If they were Older and I felt they might become damaged. I would have hung them but for this video purpose. I didn't feel the need But you are correct, that is the Safeway to do it 👍 I do hope the video helped you.

    Great video. Going to do mine soon. I ordered the same set of seals but noticed that the dust cover is slightly different than my original. Any problem with the set, does dirt get into the dust cover? Thanks

    Thanks for sharing man. Very helpful. Do you have the toolset part number and where did you ordered them?

      I do and I believe I go over most of all the tools in the video. If you can't find it let me know and I will see which tools exactly you need And I will try to get you the information.

    Can you hear the sound of a small spring when the suspension is in operation? I have this on my Tiger and I'm not sure if it's normal.

      @@szymonkosmowski6228 No I cannot hear A Spring.
      On my suspension. If you're hearing some type of Spring. I would suggest following the video and taking it apart to see if the Spring is broken or damaged. After inspecting all the parts. If any are broken or damaged or worn, replace them and fill it with the proper fluid and follow the steps.

    I have checked my service manual for Tiger 1200 from 2012 and is saying that there should be 12mm left of the thread from the top, so I am a little bit confused. Can you tell me why it is 16mm on yours? Mine suspension looks exactly the same 🤔

      To be honest, I don't remember how I got all the specs. I might have called the manufacturer and that might be what they have told me. Either way It has not given me any issue. All you would have to do if it was a little wrong is adjust The dampener screw on the top of your Shock which is the blue bolt But if you found in your Owner's manual that it should be 12 mm. Go with 12 mm. Always go with what the owner's manual tells you to I hope this video helped. And good luck on the job.

      @@alabamainformedpublic. Thank you. Video is great. The amount of details is awesome and really helpful. I am not a mechanic but love to learn how everything is built and how to find myself. It is helpful when you break down somewhere and it's cheaper 😀

    If I want to do just a plain oil change, would it be possible to put the bike on the centre stand and open the top caps on the forks, then remove the dampening bolts at the bottom of the forks to drain the oil, then put the bolts back in and refil the forks with fresh oil and close the top caps? From watching this and the way the parts fit together I think a simple oil change could work this way? Any answers appreciated.

    • @alabamainformedpublic.
      @alabamainformedpublic.  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It would be possible But I believe it would just be easier To remove the forks Out of the bracket and just pour the oil out For example you can remove the top caps Loosen the hexed heads that hold The Fork tubes In Of course you have to remove the tire and brakes then slide the tubes out and just pour it out Then replace the oil I believe what you're talking about doing Is removing the one boat from the bottom But you have to hold the inside to keep it from spinning It will not be as easy as you are thinking I hope this helps

    • @craigbeall5084
      @craigbeall5084 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@alabamainformedpublic. Yeah I see what you are saying about the spinning. I am always looking for the easy way out but in this instance I think I will have to remove them. Its probably for the best then at least I can do a full inspection for wear etc. Even though they are not leaking my bike has done 21 000 miles so a fork service and clean wont do any harm. I will change the seals and bushes at the same time as I certainly don't want to spend money on new tubes at any point.
