My front pressure monitor has gone sketchy. Just showing “blanks” occasionally, and turning the idiot light on. 2017 GSA with 27k miles. The dealer I bought it from just last week had put new tires on before listing the bike. Would have been nice if they’d also replaced the sensors. I’d rather have no monitor than an annoying system.
The TPMS system adjusted the displayed temperature for ambient air pressure. It states in the manual to full the tires to 36 front 42 rear with a gauge. The TPMS system is more there to tell you if you have a sudden loss in pressure. Good video, bottom line is, use them as a fall back, not a "correct" reading, on any bike.
Your right these tire pressure monitors are not being calibrated so they go wrong after a while. Bought a new 1250GS last year without the monitors. Check them myself. Like your vids! Grtz.from Europe
of course, until it goes flat or is loosing air while youre riding or the tpm light goes off while youre riding even if you just checked it. Do you ride long distances and check tire pressure every time you get fuel or stop and get on the bike? People who ride weekends can say that but someone who travels doesn't normally check tire pressure every single time they throw a leg over.
I have a 2017 GSA and my TPMS is way off also, 4-5 psi off in the front and 2-4 psi off in the rear. I wouldn’t mind if they weren’t even there, if mine fail I will probably find a way to eliminate them without having a warning light on the dash.
Definitely "ball-park" pressures you get from the TPMS's, when they're working, which like you say is totally absurd given how much they cost to replace. I check mine w a solid pressure gauge all the time... I do believe they were a bit more accurate when the batteries were more fresh. But now I'm just ignoring them, which is annoying bc the warning light is coming on all the time. For what it costs to replace one of them, I could buy a GS911 and maybe get the ECU to ignore them altogether.
How did you not know this? When I bought my gsa I knew straight away that the sensors didn’t give an accurate reading. I never used the sensor to inflation guide. Crazy people who do
Thank you for YOUR support!! In helping us with potential bike problems.. and fixes.

Thanks for sharing your experience.
Right on man. Hope those tires give you good life from here out!
Trying to save them for Idaho. Lol

I never knew that was an option, not a bad idea really. Thanks for sharing.
Same thing happened on my XR, I’ve double checked with multiple tire pressure gauges but front is off by 3 lbs for whatever reason.
I always manually check my tire pressure before every ride, never have any doubts when I throw my leg over to go rip..

@@MobMoto Average ride just under 200mi.a trip. Always, every-time I start out to ride.

Mine is a 17 also, Im gonna keep a closer eye and see how much it fluctuates, thanks for sharing.

I agree they worked better when they were newer.

This kind of shit on my 2016 GSA pisses me off and I wish I still had my 1150GSA.... Anyone wanna buy a 2016 GSA 1200WC with 26k miles...?
