  • When it comes to making jewellery, stone setting can be a complicated matter, but we're all about making life as easy as possible! Here I'm setting a brilliant-cut green tourmaline using a GRS Tools Gravermax together with my favourite Universal Motors flex shaft available soon from Gesswein!
Number one tip for stone setting: whether setting with a hammer and punch, or a hammer handpiece, don't hit the bloody stone!
Here's a FREE E-BOOK to find out the tools you absolutely must have to get started, where to splurge and where to save.

Great tips. Ball burr on the yellow cylinder polishing bit is very useful. Thanks Lucy.

It is appreciated to see how you tube set a faceted stone in this video but we aren't told what size burrs to use and how to use them. Setting the seat is tricky and choosing the thick walled tube is important but we're given no detail on these things.

Hiya, and a great video, I love the micro photography. Thank you for sharing this and the gem hardness list, when I can sort out printing it will be laminated and put above the bench, more than helpful. I do love your work. Stay safe...Steve...

Excellent video, I'm surprised this type of mount isn't seen more often. Very neat and tidy, cool tune as well.

Ooo, feels like such a waste to modify a brand new pumice wheel (?) but that's what tools are for right?? In the name of productivity, I will have to do the same 😅 Great video quality btw

Lucy love your videos they are so informative. What grit is yellow bullet that you filed down to use to polish the bezel edge with? Are Dedeco bullet with mandrel from Rio Grande the same as that? Regards Wendy

Lucy, I’d rather hear your voice teach, rather than music. A lot of us watch this at night and this music is stressful . yes I turned it down. But your voice would be teaching where as music and silence doesn’t teach.

Yurgh!! Sorry everything’s wrong on this setting, use tube for a Solitaire ?? Push the metal against the stone ?? No finish cutline on the jaw … that is really beginner style, you can show better ☝️
