  • In this tutorial, Brooks Andrus demonstrates how to create a light sweep effect completely in Camtasia. Sweeps get used a lot to add some visual punch to static text. You can also use them to animate borders / strokes of Camtasia shapes. You will learn two different techniques to create gradient mattes in Camtasia and then use the Luminosity Track Matte Mode with the gradient matte.

Awesome. I'm stoked to be sharing some of what the product can do if you know the ins and outs. Looking forward to seeing what you make.

Well that was fun :) I added additional elements, such as start and end radial wipe transition on the title background and border, and semi transparency on the lower shape so I could see an image when using a screen background. Just playing around. Looks cool as a title segment. Thanks!

One question -- I can't find the Spotlight effect in Camtasia 2020 Windows. Is that only on Mac? I found "Cursor Spotlight" but that doesn't seem to be the same effect you're using.

Spotlight effect is currently Mac only. Good news is that both platforms now share the same rendering engine (used for canvas preview and export). Bad news is we have a lot of work ahead of us. Hang in there. Use track mattes for now to create your own spotlight.
