Vex hive fallen etc., i m certain destiny 2 will fuck us all by telling how osiris and lyslander found out the truth and rebelled, and we ve been fighting on the wrong side for the whole time. Could Lysander tie in with the exo stranger? After all, she gifted us her weapon, and "soon" etched into the casing of no time to explain could be referencing him. Thoughts? I mean, she was talking to someone that she was watching in the wild. (Us.) If lysander is gathering people, maybe he's gathering strong guardians. What if in destiny 2 we have a choice; to be for or against the city/tower?
The Spreer The Exo Stranger is essentially from a different timeline, with very strong ties to the Vex. She doesn't seem to have any real connection to Lysander as far as we know.
No, but it also isn't impossible that on January first of next year the Traveller will morph into a giant middle finger and leave us behind, that doesn't mean it will happen, and if we could put any name to her partner, I'd say Osiris.
i saw a theory saying she was talking to Kabr, Praedyth and Pahanin. When she said "lock the doors" It could have been her talking to Praedyth, who locked himself in the backroom away from the Gorgons.
The reveal of Osiris in Destiny 2 or whenever is by far the most hyped moment of this game. Bungie better not fail at it or else the dissapointment will be massive.
@@yhelloh it’s little more than the shiniest of spinfoil theories, but hear me out as a possibility of it happening down the road. The Vanguard is seen as weak right now, per the most recent lore book drop, the consensus is actively plotting against them. Something is going to give on one side or their other thereby causing even further weakness in city leadership, perhaps even a power vacuum of some sort. If Lysander and the Concordat are ever going to show up again, I think this would be the time. We got that one sparrow and a couple of lore entries in the grimoire of D1, small bits - we all know that’s how Bungie likes to serve up the lore to us.
the interesting thing is about the sparrow is that it's a one-off. the hull is different than G1 sparrows while keeping the wings. it's hull is wider and has gauges molded into the tunnels up by the Guardian undead of being behind a visor of sorts. Lysander, if following the theme of "one-off customs" might give us a nifty gun that might slightly resemble a previous gun yet act or look (or both) differently.
Favorite destiny 2 theory actually has a great potential story about not the aliens destroying the city but us gaurdings. Lysander would have to do something to our light if we were to run from a fight because without light we are nothing.
Shaxx, and other vendors have some interesting dialogue. I've heard shaxx say that FWC are preparing for something big. Also Lysander sparrow is the same color as that one faction the concordat. I've also heard Dead Orbit saying that no or can stop their next move.
What if Lysander discovered something about the Speaker and Traveler and saw that as cause for a rebellion perhaps he'll reveal that to us and we'll have to decide if betraying the Speaker and Traveler is the correct move. A war between Guardians loyal to the Speaker and those opposed that would be kick ass
When you return to Bannerfall during the Gjallahorn quest in RoI (specifically, 'A Symbol of Honor'), the flavor text reads: [ "There was a campaign to call it Lysander's Folly, but I don't want people even remembering his name." -Ikora Rey ] This indicates that the Vanguard have been trying to bury the information regarding the Concordat since the conflict. Coming from Ikora, someone who prizes knowledge so highly, this is especially interesting to me. It really shows how bitter that uprising was.
that fist emblem of Lysander's is in each of the three new strikes too. each new strike has a hidden monitor and they each have the fist. I could definitely see it being hints at destiny 2 being a civil war.
The whole Lysander thing makes such good sense for the next destiny and would explain why we have new guardians. Ours from D1 join Lysander and our new guardians are either revived to fight them or they are the guardians that didn't turn. sounds pretty cool imo.
Have you looked into the speaker? He does sell a hunters cloak for a group that hate the traveler and its light, strange for someone who is supposed to be the voice of the traveler to have something like that, and offer it to gaurdians.
I got a theory lysander mentioned 3 gifts, 3 weeks of the awakening maby every week 1 gift, first gift was lysander cry and because Christmas is coming this week I belive the second gift will be given then, a weapon and the third gift well they said that was a secret.
Okay, so we've already received Lysander's gift of greater speed: Lysander's Cry. But we still don't really have any cemented information on what the rare weapon or the 'secret' might be. However, I'd be willing to guess what they might be based on information from datamining, paper fortunes from Dawning gifts, and the grimoire for the cult of the Trinary Star. Around the time the Taken King was released, several exotics were datamined, such as the Dunemarchers, Transversive Steps, Abaddon and Nova Morris. We got all of the armor with the release of ROI, and all of the weapons, with Abaddon and NV with the Dawning update being the most recent additions to the Exotic equipment pool. However, an Arc rocket launcher remains to be seen: the Dubious Volley. It is the only Exotic not yet seen or implemented. As it does not, presumably, physically exist in canon yet, maybe Lysander and his followers have developed such a devastating instrument of war. They would certainly need it, as well; with the possible exception of Efrideet's passive Guardian community in the outer Solar System, no human force matches or exceeds the population and army of the city. The perks on the weapon paint an even more vivid picture of the damage it is capable of; it shoots several high-energy bolts of in a volley, with kills adding more rounds to the next volley. If you ask me, it sounds like a Spartan laser on steroids. It would not be good if the remains of the Concordat, plus any new support they have recruited from the wilds, was armed with these. Moving on, the cult of the Trinary Star is a fringe group in the Destiny universe with the sole conviction that the Traveler is an ultimate evil, bent on the destruction of any race it encounters, including humans, awoken and exos, along with any vex, hive, fallen or cabal. Not only are they a nightmare if they attack by themselves, but if they are allied with Lysander, as they both dislike the Speaker, and therefore the Traveler by proxy, they would be an unstoppable force. We'll get back to that in a bit. Now, a few days ago, you could get paper fortunes from the small presents on the plateau that leads to the Traveler's Walk. One of the fortunes you could get reads "Nothing sleeps forever. Not even the Traveler." That sort of screams foreshadowing to me, as in Destiny 2 foreshadowing. Pair this with D2 concept art of fire, a burning Last City, and new super based solely on weaponry, and I think we have an idea on what we'll be seeing in the sequel to Destiny. Lysander/Concordat/Trinary Star attack the city with legions of DO-wielding, secretly-trained soldiers completely obliterating everything in their wake. To stop them, a Vanguard of your choice, along with several members of Ikora Rey's Hidden will teach you about some arcane Light channeling bullshit or whatever, and you'll use that to defeat Lysander and his followers. It also could maybe set up Destiny 3, with a newly united City fighting the Darkness directly and achieving a new Golden Age, and that's the end of the franchise. But that's just my two cents on the subject.
Vinicius Ferrari #ContenteTV there was a supercut that the writers had shown to the higher ups and they weren't really pleased with it, so then they scrapped the entire story they worked on and decided to start from scratch and so the main writer left. The higher ups then made a group to put together a story with a year away from release and that's how grimoire cards were made and that's why the story was so bad in game.
I think for the weapon he will have Xür give it out for whenever he comes around and for the secret he could give the identity of the speaker to the guardians
I could imagine that Trials in Destiny 2 could have kind of a sub faction element to it that is relevant to this. You could pledge to either Osiris or Lysander, and you would get different rewards for whichever sub-faction you choose
This gets me feeling even more like the tower will be destroyed and we'll have to strike out on our own, finding help from these groups that have already abandoned the tower or perhaps not welcome in the tower. Concordant, the Osirus cult, the Queen and Reef, the Nine? Thinking about it makes me pretty excited and hopeful for a major shakeup!
Perhaps the Future War has come, a crusade from the remains of the Concordat. This may go back to early teasers for Destiny in 2013, where Prince Uldren points a gun at a guardian. That may have actually been Lysander.
All hail BYF our destiny lour lord you give me great meaning and understanding of the video game destiny thank your for making this and all of your lours. Keep doing what your doing! Thanks.
It could hint at a strike. Pretty sure some players have found that secret area in the sea by now that you can only get into with a sparrow glitch. I still speculate that they didn't fully release rise of iron for a reason.
Great video, as usual brother. Just a thought...What if Lysander was behind the mysterious transmissions and buffs during the Owl Sector ARG, just before ROI dropped? Could Brilliance, Glory, Magnificence, Splendor, and Fortitude, all have been "gifts" from Lysander? If so, that's a terrifying thought: a rogue Guardian, with the capability to infect our very systems without even so much as leaving a fingerprint. Last time, he "gifted" us with mysterious buffs. But what happens next time when his plans are more sinister, and the Vanguard can do nothing to stop it. The outbreak of those viruses was fruitful last time, and all of us Guardians, desperate for just a little more power, actually went into the fray, LOOKING to be INFECTED to boost our powers further. We may have played right into his hands on more than one occasion. (cue X Files theme)
What if Lysander is actually the exo stranger. She gave us the "rare" pulse rifle called the strangers rifle. From our first encounter after meeting the vex it is somewhat obvious that there are a few of exo stranger clan or faction. The secret. When she gives us a rare weapon she hints at other battles yet to come. The secret might be that they are back and gathering strength for two-three years. Just speculation but the pieces fit if you squint hard enough.
I would also add there are secret boost locations throughout the sparrow maps. Curious if anyone has passed through these riding the Lysanders Cry? out of town and cant play :(
I'm thinking that the Concordat becomes an enemy we fight in Destiny 2- however, since it is an enemy comprised of Gaurdians, perhaps we may join the Concordat, and wage war against the city.
on the relationship between Lysander and Osiris perhaps Lysanders ire toward Osiris is his subversive attitude towards the City and the Traveler. Think about it, Osiris's grimoire states that he started asking questions that divided Guardians. Instead of performing their duties they would chase legends study the darkness ect. If you also look at the Concordats symbol it's of an upside-down fist possibly implying coercion for others to fall into line with the City (as opposed to the opposite which implies solidarity and support.)
So, we have a possibility of more factions being introduced and maybe even a large scale faction alliances maybe that put guardians against the different groups?
what if in the spring bungie drops another dlc where lysander comes and fucks up the city killing almost everyone and also attacking the iron temple. leaving only people like cayde, zavala, ikora, saldin. factions are destroyed the tower is in ruins, the city is chaos with most of the population. And at the end of the story lysander holds you prisoner and forces you watch him destroy the traveler, then murders your guardian in cold blood. destiny 2 would then pick up after that and you would be a new guardian that has to carry on your old guardians legacy. (you would lose everything that you got in year 1 except for shaders and emblem, maybe ships and shaders to) and the destiny 2 story would go on from there. sorry for any grammatical errors i wrote this in a hurry.
Considering how colors come into play here regarding the different factions.... Does this mean that the Green and black ships may also have ties to Lysander? And what about the Shader UnquietSpirit??
The story about what happened to Lysander and The Concordat is some Shakespearean stuff: would love to see that explored in the future, maybe as a April Update content expansion to keep destiny alive. Or as a larger expansion would be nice. :D
Came back here after the latest happenings of the faction shenanigans at the end of Season of the Splicer. Cant wait for the next video that covers this for the current narrative.
I think it will end up being the basis for another "April update" which will begin the motions toward a war which will be fought and ended in Destiny 2...they did say that Destiny 2 is centered around Osiris
hey byf right when you spawn at the tower, if you look to the left, there's a little purple symbol on the bottom of the pillar. this is the first time i'd noticed it, it might be a well known fact in the community by now, but i was wondering if you knew what it is
Yeah man as soon as i watched myelins video on it i knew man that Lysander is gathering followers to form the concordat again and take control of the tower
Edward Ramirez Depending on his secret. Imaging his secret involves the Traveller or the Speaker. Something at least big enough to change our minds about Destiny would be amazing.
I'm sure(well not just being hopefull) that all our hard work and hours put onto our characters will go over to destiny 2, like event items, payment items(in a way but not really) also exotics. I would hate to see a lot of the good exotics go away and vanish really.
Does anyone else think that the Stranger is connected to all of this? here are my reasons: 1) She is part of a group outside the walls but has access to the tower. 2) The Grimoir card mentioned a weapon. The Stranger gave us a weapon (Stranger's Rifle), which later becomes No Time to Explain. While FWC leader gives us the weapon, the Grimoir card does mention inside agents for Lysander. Could the wait time on the quest have to with the possibility that No Time to Explain has to be transported to the tower? 3) Finding Ghosts is a common theme between No Time Explains Quest and the Lysander box. 4) The Stranger has had little to no presence lately despite being a memorable character in year one. Plus why take interest in guardians if not to recruit them for aomething.
What if Efrideet had ties to Lysander? The point of the Iron Banner is to strengthen a guardian's light and if Lysander is looking for guardians to join his ranks, the Iron Banner would be the perfect way to do so.
Lysander was a Spartan general who defeated the Athenians in 405BC. Lysander will likely defeat the city defenders and force the consensus to capitulate.
I hope that if this is gonna be in destiny 2, that you can choose to fight with or against Lysander. would help the RPG element with destiny a lot more.
I think that Lysander might raise an army to overthrow the tower. In one of the Destiny 2 images, the tower and the last city are on fire. So I think that Lysander might be the cause of that. It was just a random thought I had. What do you think? It just makes sense with what you said about Lysander.

This is good lore that backs up your reasoning and theory of the city falling because Lysander could a reason that causes it to fall
“I love all you little Guardians. You’re so forthright, so eager to please…. ‘That make you angry? Good. Use it.”
If we get a choose question that requires us to choose to join Lysander or side with the speaker I would choose lysander
Commenting for support, have a great Christmas.
on the Ghorn mission on banner fall read what ikora rey says on the discretion
I don't know that much about the lore not contained in game, but a weapon? The Stranger's Rifle, perhaps?
Weird, I was subscribed to your channel before. No wonder I had to seach for it this time.
Great vid again Byf!
Lysander is mentioned in the gajjlerhorn quest
Very nice video as always. Merry Christmas all.
I think it will end up being the basis for another "April update" which will begin the motions toward a war which will be fought and ended in Destiny 2...they did say that Destiny 2 is centered around Osiris
hey byf right when you spawn at the tower, if you look to the left, there's a little purple symbol on the bottom of the pillar. this is the first time i'd noticed it, it might be a well known fact in the community by now, but i was wondering if you knew what it is
The weapon or weapons Lysander might have gifted us could possibly be the Nova Mortis and the Abbadon
FINALLY!!! SOMBODY GETS IT!!!
Bungie can do something with this like an "April Update" but i don't think it will carry over to Destiny 2.
Yeah man as soon as i watched myelins video on it i knew man that Lysander is gathering followers to form the concordat again and take control of the tower
so I guess the really question is when will he strike and who out of us guardians follow him.
Your voice makes the even more interesting.
this would make sense why the speaker asked saint 14 to go find his brother Osiris and bring him back.
Does anyone else think that the Stranger is connected to all of this? here are my reasons:
1) She is part of a group outside the walls but has access to the tower.
I swear I just learnt more lore in one video than in all the bloody expansions.
What if Efrideet had ties to Lysander? The point of the Iron Banner is to strengthen a guardian's light and if Lysander is looking for guardians to join his ranks, the Iron Banner would be the perfect way to do so.
oooooo very interesting. Thank you Byf!
Lysander was a Spartan general who defeated the Athenians in 405BC. Lysander will likely defeat the city defenders and force the consensus to capitulate.
didn't know about the symbol. just saw it in the Banner fall map
It just makes sense with what you said about Lysander.
i agree with you bro
This is incredible, they need to make a library and put a warlock named Byferious in it, voiced by you, giving him the title: Grimoire quartermaster
Thorn Sounds amazing, and every time you would leave his library he would say his outro.
