Yes, very true. Even more so on calm days which makes for enjoyable fishing but tangles are more likely. Prefer a bit of wind to help keep the lines straight.
They have definitely been hooked on electrics before with smaller size ones landed. We hooked one on the elecy a few weeks ago, it drove to the surface, saw it and then the hook broke through the mono. Longest fight I've known someone to have on a Shimano Forcemaster/Beastmaster is around 4.5hrs. I know in places like Florida they use big game deep sea electrics to catch them but we generally get a bigger average run of fish here. Although this season theres been about 30-260kg fish caught and things have only just heated up.

Thanks Mitchell. There will be plenty more coming! Sword fishing is a long game requiring patience and persistence but the reward is worth it!
Tangles suck! But as soon as you deep drop more than one line, it’s gonna happen!
