My fave James track and one of my all time tracks ever for sure. Strange thing happened to me a few months ago. Was in hospital in an induced coma. When they brought me back round a nurse was holding my hand, Sarah. They had the radio on, Sara Cox, Radio 2 show and the first track she played when i opened my eyes was Shes a Star. Never forget that moment.
Oh wow! Being in an induced coma is a wild experience! I haven't met that many other people who've gone through it. Mine was in 2007, for a month. How long did yours last? The best part was right before I woke up.
Keeley Hawes, she had appeared on "Saturday Night" by Suede music video at the same time, she was only 20. Now 47, she's still indescribably attractive lady.
Years ago, I first saw James at the Wickerman Festival. Listening to them perform live was like listening to recorded music. They were absolutely brilliant. There were so, so many tracks that I never knew were James songs. Since then, I have seen them perform at a number of festivals, and I have never been disappointed. In my humble opinion, they are a grossly underrated band, who deserved far more acclaim than they garnered.
This is one of James's best songs! It annoys me everyone bangs on about 'Sit Down' which I personally feel is overplayed and doesn't allow the attention to their other songs which are so much more dynamic and creative in their composition.
@@Shagyamum Laid is the one. It has got better with age, I think one of a handful of great compositions of the time. This one suffers just a little in comparison... Try not drumming when it plays.
I think there are crossover moments between great bands. I'm thinking James, Placebo, The Divine Comedy, Lana del Ray, Suede (here). They have a sense of grandeur of (fame) plus (glamour) plus (youth) that aches for a transient moment of sadness, high hope, passing passion. It's ok to be sad, but it's great to be young and beautiful, to be feeling what the audience feel. I know this great song from the opening of The Beggar Bride miniseries from the 90’s, Keeley starred in it too. Loved it and love it still. Such a precious song and video❤

a question that i have and i hope you guys can help me on this, i've watched this video many times but i can't figure out something, the blonde girl is suppose to represent Marylin Monroe? (or any other actress from that era? like Monica Vitti for example) it's what i get from the story
Yes. According to the director he wanted to portray the classical Felliniesque protagonists the blonde (Marilyn, Anita Ekberg, Vitti) VS the brunette (Anouk, Jane R, Sophia L) scenario.
"Whiplash" séptimo álbum de estilo inconfundible. 90´s "She's a Star" Ella es una estrella. Mucho más brillante. Sencillo uno, canta, 👉 Tim Booth. Es James. ☝💀 ++
I'm very sorry, but it's my only copy of the complete director's cut video. I do however also have the clean edit video version which has full stereo sound, although copyright issues is preventing me from uploading and I'm also still not sure if this will stay up either :-)
