He's played on a lot of Izzy's solo albums. He was also on 117 Degrees, Ride On, On Down the Road, Concrete, and Wave of Heat
A natural singer and guitar player . He doesn't fake sing by yelling. Asthetically west sounding.
I got the Ju Ju Hounds first album when I was 18 in 1992 and I have it memorized. That being said, I was bored on quarantine and looked to see if Izzy did anything after that, I'm glad I looked this up. It's a grower, needs to be heard many times to fully get into this stuff. I see some comments about his singing voice, I think he might be self conscious about his voice and he mixes it the same level as the music tracks. His voice is part of his sound now, if ya need a screamer on these songs, look up his former band, they have lots of that...
Yeah man, I got that record when it came out and I was 13, 41 now and I still love it. It is just too cool of an album. Izzy kicks so much ass!!!!

The heart of GnR.
Izzy has it good - independently wealthy - and producing solo work only for connoisseurs.
He's that missing secret ingredient that brings soul and blues to the music.
Well, to be fair, each of the five guys involved in recording AfD was a piece of the puzzle. Izzy's solo songs are cool, like he is, but they lack the anger and intensity that the other 4 guys brought. It's interesting to consider that had Izzy been the usurper of power in GnR, we'd be talking about how Slash or Axl or anyone else was the "secret ingredient" instead. My point is that GnR is one of the rare bands where every musician contributed a very important element to the band's sound. I do agree, though, that Izzy was the bluesy, organic element who happened to contribute the most songs and shape the philosophy of early GnR. As the late Malcolm Young once said "a lot of bands know how to rock, but not many know how to roll". Izzy is one of the few true rock and ROLL musicians still alive and kicking. It's a concept that not even Slash - as accomplished of a musician as he is - understands.
Izzy needs to go and play on a Live From Daryl's House session with Billy Gibbons, that would kill it....
This guy has a knowledge of Rn'R licks and songs, a sort of unsung Keith Richards!

I can't shut up about how much I love this man's music. His voice is so relaxing and the sounds he incorporates in his songs are so diverse, and they just work so well.

An uncharitable assessment - but not all that inaccurate. Izzy's doing it his way now - after having done it someone else's way long enough. And I'd call that a genuis' prerogative. ... : )

Other than everything else that's been said, part of Izzy's mystique for me is not always enunciating. Stones were pros at this in their heyday and Izz is too. I dig trying to figure out what is coming out of the dude's mouth.
