Well most of the extremely rich people who get the gold card are usually philanthropist/people who have given an insane amount to charity. And the non- rich people are usually heros like Charles Ramsey
Matthew Hajec Even if the extremely rich were as useful to society as you believe (and plenty of them aren't), how does that pertain to constantly giving them valuable things they have no need for?

Matthew Hajec Oh so it you're not particularly rich you won't be able to create employment and certainly without money you won't possess the ability to innovate? Christ fella, have a word with yourself.
Pretty much true of everything in America - only the people who don't need help get it. The people who do need help? Well, they can die in the street, who cares?
You need a lower class to boost the high class. Why do you think they are trying to dissipate the middle class in the US? So more people can hold up the the high class.
Don't be so sure on any of those fronts. Trump eats at McD's. Also, this month, McDonald's is running a sweepstakes where if you win, you get a Gold Card entitling you to eat free for life.
Sort of how rich celebrities get given tons of free shit when they're the people who can actually afford to buy things... lol. Sometimes the world is backwards.
I have a somewhat similar one for Wendy's, 15% off all purchases for life. I was working as a machinist, and made some parts for the local Wendy's when their Frosty machine broke, and there was going to be a long delay in getting a replacement part. I saved the local franchise a considerable amount of money in the lost sales that were prevented. The franchise owner arranged for it and gave it to me a couple days after the parts were finished up, as well as one for my boss, for fast-tracking the order for him. I don't know about the MacDonald's or BK cards, but I have found that even though it is a corporate-wide card, some Wendy's refuse to honor it.
That's not that great. I used to work at Wendy's and we had a "senior discount" button, automatically takes 10% off the entire order. No manager needed. We had regulars that came in several times a day after church that would get it religiously, so by that account they got it "for life". And otherwise I'd hit it for friends, family, or just anyone that was extremely nice to me. I was very liberal with it. As much as I enjoyed my years there in high school, fast food plain out sucks, so I'm glad to know I helped a lot of regular people by screwing a company over thousands of dollars.
Yeah, I would usually just take the senior discount instead, since they freak out and don't know how to even do the discount card at the register. But hey getting the senior, or any discount, at a young age and making just enough money to get by, helps. It was interesting at times to see the reaction of the cashier or manager of a particular Wendy's here and there. Most don't even know this card exists. One manager even tried to confiscate the card and threatened to call the cops! I can only imagine what happens with a free food for life card at some places. I still keep the card in my wallet, but rarely use it or eat fast food anymore. The local Wendy's here doesn't even give a 10% senior discount, you get a free child sized paper cup for water. (The owner is a serious jerk, too, I won't go into all the things he does and "policies" he has, I don't know how he even stays in business) I am old enough now to start getting the senior discount in a lot of places anyway. :)

I work at McDonald's. It isnt broken usually and we will give you ice cream and stuff. The only thing that sucks is the dispenser for Oreo crumbs/m&ms throws it everywhere which is a pain to clean up
Only the ones you hear about. Back in the mid 80s, my McD's franchiser gave a pass (in that store only) to a guy who was caught rummaging around in our dumpster for food. Anything he wanted, for life. He didn't actually use it that often, at least while I was still working there. But it's a minimal cost "good will" thing, and there are a lot more of them out there than this vid implies.
Those who done heroic deeds while holding or having a McDonalds or Burger King sandwich in their mouth should indeed be given a reward from their respective company.
Yeah, but being heroic earns you a year of free McDonald's while being rich and/or famous will earn a lifetime of fast food free. Lovely life in America.
Simple. Give these cards to people who dont need it. So there is no damage but rumors about these cards. which again is good publicity. But never give them to people who will use it since that are lost sales.
Kappakappa duk I know that using sarcasm in comments may not be the smartest thing but any idiot should be able to tell my original comment was meant as sarcasm.
I remember the free bumper stickers in the 70's - Merimac Caverns (MO), Reptile Gardens (SD), and Ruby Falls (TN) also gave out free bumper stickers to everybody. In fact, Merimac Caverns would stick them on your car when you weren't looking.
They don't give them to you because you would actually eat there everyday and show millions of people how unhealthy their food is. They only give them to rich people for a reason...
Oh definitely. A member of the bovine masses like me would never have enough self control to avoid eating myself to death. If only had the same level of discipline as a perfect specimen of humanity such as yourself.
I was kind of joking but I feel like its just inherently obvious that they would never give them to people that could actually use them. And I bet that they would take it away from someone if they found out they misused it which they don't want to have to deal with by giving it to the average person so they don't. And Im doubtful that this card actually exists... so yeah
My bad, I'm not sure why I took that as an attack. Sometimes without tone of voice to rely on it's hard to notice when something is supposed to be a joke. Sorry
McDonald's had a promotion back in the early 2000's you could get a gold card that would give you special promotions. They screwed up and did not print a closing date on these cards, so if you had one they had to honor it. I lost mine and it breaks my heart lol.
Shan Sohi wow you called me an idiot I'm so hurt. You can't even understand the context of my comment. I bet you're so tough on a keyboard but in reality your probably just a little shit. Don't start shit you can't finish cause one day someone will kick your ass
Well they don't pay for anything else. Why would they pay for food? It's always bern on of my pet peeves that the richer or more famous you are the more people seem to be willing to give you shit for free.
A member of our scout troop years ago did a project where he essentially rebuilt half of a local churches daycare after it was taken out by hurricane Sandy knocking a oak onto it. Well apparently the pastor of the church kept pushing several of the wealthier families at the church to do a good deed for his good deed. Finally he was granted a card for free food for life at 3 Wendy's restaurants that were owned by a member of the church. The guy sold his franchise within a year and when corporate bought it out they refused to honor the card
Not ironic at all. Irony is predicated on the result being unexpected. There's NOTHING unexpected about rich leeches in this country getting help they don't need.
Do they give one to the people who have worked at these places and have been robbed at gun point, or would such a policy financially harm the companies?
I guess there would be the potential for a few not to bright to attempt it, but the risk would be kind of high for a fast food card. Imagine getting caught and being asked: So, what are you in for? Well...
@Steven Zurk - Yeah, everyone gets it, but most will seldom if ever use it or mention they have it. Then again, the corps can't lose because they might get in the news for it and will rarely have to accommodate the card holders. With the exception of Buffet, who is said to eat at McDonald's quite a lot.
That Robert Downey Jr. anecdote at 6:29 was the best, especially after learning Burger King only gives these cards to those they deem "friends of the brand". :D
Yup! Bill Gates and Warren Buffett both could individually buy from their personal wealth either of the chains that offer them and get free food..hmmm!
It for advertising. They'd never give anyone who would be willing to eat their food a card for free food for life. Business 101, nothing should be for free.
I mean, if you only eat McDonald's or BK for free, your life isn't going to be that long anyway. So that's good publicity for McDonald's and Burger King
Over here in Canada, when I was cycling across the country to raise funds and awareness for the MS Society, I met and spoke with a lot of companies through different events. I was going after larger corporate donations and to have employees at the branches pitch in as a team effort. When Boston Pizza head quarters heard about me about 2/3rds of the way through the country, they issued me a letter for free meals at any location for the duration of my trip. It filled me with joy to be recognized and have the support of such a massive franchise. It certainly gave me another reason to push on during the worst days of the journey. I didn't make it across this country alone; as a team of strangers with the common goal of finding a cure to end MS, we got my bicycle across the country. And together, we can keep fighting towards that cure. And that is where these special "free meal deals" truly belongs.
Cortanasboyfriend It actually makes sense if you have some common sense, if you’re rich you’re probably not going to eat at McDonald’s everyday, this means local franchises won’t go bankrupt from broke bitches using it everyday.
If I recall correctly, my oldest half brother (who is 20 years older than me) was given a card when he graduated high school which entitled him to unlimited free food at any McDonald's for 5 years. This made him rather popular during college.
atenahena that's exactly why. These people will rarely eat there so it costs them little. They are also extremely famous so it is tons of free publicity. It draws in customers while costing them next to nothing. How many people after watching this video will decide to stop at a mcdonalds or BK at some point in the next few days because of this very video? Probably a fair few. Likely enough to pay for one of these seldom used lifetime cards, possibly multiple times over. That's the power of advertising.
One time at Mc Donalds: Guys, guys, I have a brilliant idea: let's give our low-quality, tasteless fastfood to the people who need it the most: the billionaires!
vealck If they were to hand these out to the poor, the ones who needs it, then those people would constantly get food for themselves and people that they know, which would cause the company to go bankrupt, as opposed to the rich who don't really use it anyways. Furthermore, handing them out to famous people will get the brand more publicity and potentially encourage some to get out of their way and do something beneficial to the company so they can get these cards.
If you've seen the recent outrage on Star Wars Battlefront 2 and EA, you would know that companies like EA are SO not charities. They are big corporations trying to make profit and keep things going. EA might have pushed it a bit too far though.
+ A perfectly normal Internet user To be fair, the situation with Battlefront EA 2 is pretty fucked. If you want full details on its fuckedness, just ask.
It doesn't matter who we are, what matters is our plan. Yes because then they won’t use it, if you have free food for life to poor people that’s all they would eat and they would loose a ton of money
"They only gave them to rich people who don't need them, why not give them to the poor?!" Precisely because they know that wealthy people won't use them much. Give one to a homeless person, he'll be eating for free all day every day, and probably sharing with his friends, potentially bankrupting the local franchise.
Oh, there'd be plenty of publicity if they gave one to a wretch. Every Time He'd use it, everyone else in the store would be asking for one, word would spread and restaurants would be flooded with "poor" people (probably mostly people pretending to be poor) wanting one for themselves. If you don't believe me, you should come meet my in-laws.
You couldn't pay Bill Gates $5,000,000 to do a McDonald's commercial, but you could give him a lifetime pass which would have him both talking about the McDonald's brand from time to time, as well as actually appearing at McDonald's restaurants. What's that worth?
They are actually making money by associating the brand with any of the famous people. What people don't get is that this isn't charity work. It's marketing.
In high school my basketball team sold discount cards that worked at local businesses. One discount was for Subway, buy a 12" and a drink and get a 12" and a drink free! The card only cost $10. It was a very good year, my friend and I for $3 ate Subway almost everyday! Best lunch ever.
The last 2 times I ate a McD it treated my stomach as a trampoline. The first time might have been a bad stomach but the second was a hint. That was over a decade ago.
The problem is everyone says "I'm gonna get rich and help out the poor," then people get rich, and then realize that they didn't become rich by handing out money
janet lavergne it's not like them not paying for the meal is means food doesn't go to someone starving that otherwise would. The one thing g has nothing to do with the other.
so they "thoughtfuly" hand out free food to people that have enough money to get anything they want and more.... Looks like I'm continuing to never give either company any of my money
GrandaddyKush bill Gates and Warren buffet have both stated they couldn't spend all thier money if they tried, both of them have given away 90 percent of thier worth and are still top 5 richest...
But did McDonalds/BK give them the cards for their generosity to charity? I think they gave them the cards solely based on the fact that they are celebrities, with no regard whatsoever to how rich they are.
If you have a few million dollars to contribute to or are famous enough influence people by being associated to the brand, i'm sure they would gladly give you a card.
If I'm understanding this video correctly: Only the Wealthiest of people have these cards that give free food from restaurants that mostly people with little money eat at. I guess that's one way to make sure those cards don't get used.
Closest I ever saw to a "Free for Life" type card was the few times the wife of the Stores owner/operator came in. Yes being related to the owner got you free food.
I like how only rich famous people have these cards, even though they really don't need it at all. Whereas some of the more poorer people who need it are kicked out of the shops for just sitting inside while it rains
instead of the filthy rich why do they not give cards like this to charitable groups? especially groups who would use to feed underprivileged children, I guess that would be the logical thing and no kickback for the card giver.
Yep, why encourage the filthy rich to eat fast food and die early when they create jobs that support families? We should give fast food the underprivileged children.
Ya because we want underprivileged children addicted to eating at McDonalds. That will solve the obesity issue in America. Almost no children die of starvation in the US.
My dad has a card for lifetime free McD coffee with any other purchase that he found on the side of the road. Not quite unlimited free food, but still pretty neat. No-one has ever seen it before but it still seems to be accepted everywhere.
I love that that's another anecdote about how Romney's basically a different species of human because of his wealth. "Yeah, my dad was assigned free nourishment for life. Nbd."
DDS029 oh, do you mean that the McDonald's gift was a gift to a Statesman? The gift could have had nothing to do with that, but thank you for the clarification
The gates foundation gave out 10 dollar mcdonalds gift cards to my entire school for taking part in some kinda survey or something. He’s probably given mcdonalds 1000000 times more buisness with incentives like that than he could ever cost them eating for free.
Philip Nessi he probably got those free too, give some kids 10$ and they'll probably take their parents who will have to pay since 10$ only buys about one meal, they make money no matter what they do.
Technically that guy didn't do shit. But he was happy to take credit for it. The woman freed herself from years of sex slavery. He just happened to be doing nothing with his life nearby and watched it happen. lol.
The fact that only the very rich get these cards when they could perfectly buy tonnes of food by themselves, makes me sick. Just... why? They don't need that!
How is it good marketing when the majority of their client base is the average Joe. You think wealthy, important people are waiting in line for a soggy $2 burger when they can have a good one? lol
Exactly. How often is Warren Buffett likely to actually eat at McDonald's? If I had as much money as Scrooge McDuck (like, say, Warren Buffett does), I'd never even drive past one of their restaurants if I could help it, much less eat there.
Kahmoj: If that's true, it's like finding out that he drives a 35 year-old Yugo. Either he's A: a miserably cheap bastard, or B: he thinks it gives him "the common touch", or C: his taste in food is worse than that of the average stray dog.
This video was interesting, but how about Wendy's? It could be called the chanclub because of Wendy's Chan meme. That was one of the funniest publicity stunt ever.
This is an example of a brilliant marketing strategy. Who better to show appreciation to than people who have done something heroic or outstanding for their community. They have earned this reward many times over.
That Nando's photo is REALLY REALLY close to where I live, it's on Lonsdale/13th in North Vancouver, BC... Unfortunately that block was torn down for rebuild not too long ago...
I think anyone who recieves a very high millitary honour should get a card. If soldiers get a free cheeseburger then war heroes should get free everything.
Theme parks such as Busch Gardens Williamsburg also hands out Gold passes to certain people that are good for life. People are or were in the past given these if they were unlucky enough to get stuck on a ride that broke down.
At 2:18 if you pause and look at the gold card, it says valid only at Santa Barbara and goleta locations, this is where I live and this is also where the egg mcmuffin was invented
I love how these companies love donating free food and gear to people who could otherwise afford a lifetime supply for themselves and won't even let the homeless people take a piss in the bathroom.
When I was in highschool our McDonald's had closed down for renovations for almost a year. Our town being relatively small and rural, McDonald's was one the main places for people to hangout and get food. The day of its grand reopening tons of people camped outside to be the first in line, kids I knew even skipped school. Turns out the first 100 people got a card for 1 free value meal a day for a whole year. Some kid I knew who was the first in line got his picture taken and made the front of the newspaper.
I had a friend that was a BK worker and was hit with a ricochet from a robber's hold up. He got a card that allowed him three free meals a day forever. Also got paid 6 weeks recovery time at full time rate. To add the card was embossed to him, but no one ever asked for ID when we'd get food.
Well that is sorda how you make billions. You don't waste or throw away any money period. As my grandfather always said "you don't get rich by giving money away"
When you watch so much of a channel on youtube you think you're subscribed but then you realize after 3 days you aren't so you just press that little button.
How about YOU give the keys to your house and car to poor people who can't do anything for you? You know who works at McDonald's and Burger King? Poor people who ARE doing something. And as stated in the video, the BK card primarily goes to people like them. But I guess you haven't spent much time around lazy homeless people. If they had a free food card they would make the life of local employees a nightmare and possibly run the business into the ground.
When a celebrity goes to a fast food place, I think it can really help the business overall. I remember seeing a picture of Princess Diana in line at a McDonalds (that was really busy) in 80's or 90's. I like McDonalds and Burger King for their pretty good food and reasonable prices.
at this time 133 people have disliked this video and it makes me wonder if its only trolls trying to ruin small business owners channels, or if someone actually doesn't realize how accurate and entertaining this channel is
This doesn't sound crazy at all. Say you spend use it for $10 worth of food per day for sixty years, thats around $220,000. If you say donate to the Ronald McDonald fund $5,000,000.... That with knowing that you won't eat there everyday makes it a financally moot point. It's all symbolic and Bill Gates... Give him two, one for the wife.
When I was a teenager, I got free food from a Burger King when the owner (or manager) saw me digging through the cardboard behind the dumpster. I told him I was hungry and homeless and he said I could get free breakfast as long as he was there and I was "clean". I only took the guy up on it a few times as I eventually got a job and found a place to stay. I wondered why he wouldn't offer me a job instead but in looking back I guess it was due to my appearance; free food would allow him to do something good but be no long term risk to him, while hiring some dirty dumpster diving kid might see his registered emptied or something.
the reason they give the rich people free food is because others will see rich people eating in there, and want to eat in there just because the rich person is. simple human psychology, somebody of their status would never eat in a cheap place like McDonalds without some kind of reason to aka free food
Ya they should give them to the poor because the poor really need more McDonalds food. That will solve the obesity problem in this country. The card is ceremonial in nature and probably almost never gets actually used. (except for Warren Buffett)
IIRC I know someone who got one after getting the entire staff fired because they got her order wrong, spit in her food, and didn't follow protocol when she asked for a refund or another burger.
TigerShark if you look into warren buffett he eats mcdonalds every day and his meal depends on the market. It's more of an acknowledgement as a loyal customer/thanks for the free publicity
The cards don't exist for charity pal Its easier to give a guy who would spend only $3,000 on fast food in his life time a chance to advertise you than pay millions in ads and thousands gift cards for your average joe, ever think about that Communist Jack?
In Australia senior card holders get free tea/coffee forever anywhere in the country & there use to be a card that if you purchased a certain item or meal you’d receive a free sundae or apple pie for example and it’d be valid at a certain McDonald’s for a year

@Zach Michaelis Are you okay?
So why do people that clearly have so much money they would likely never not be able to pay for a meal always have a card like this
Why the fuck would i want ncd all the time
@@john_turner Free pr I imagine. Makes it more likely for a celebrity to visit the restaurant.
I love how extremely rich people always get stuff for free.
Actually it's usually governments that do that, sorry...

Yes. Give the cards to people that have no need for such things.
it is not the first time i see such injustice, maybe you and I just have to reconsider the way that this world work. srybdnglish
That's kinda the point. It's more a symbolic thing rather than actually meant to be a gift of food.
Sort of how rich celebrities get given tons of free shit when they're the people who can actually afford to buy things... lol. Sometimes the world is backwards.
Deathbrewer The publicity more than offsets the cost. So, they just hope they return later
nobody has a need for poison count yourself lucky
The real question is:
Do they still screw up the order of McGold card owners?
Of course they do.
I worked there once. Wanted a burger for lunch, made it myself, and STILL fucked it up. /s
They probably spit in their food...

I think that’s awesome! Thanks for sharing a real-world fact! Very cool

Yup its win win. The rich people are tightly associated with the brand, and the brand doesn't actually have to lose food
If you eat at McDonalds and Burger King all the time, your life won't be that long anyway.
So true. Once a week is ample. Anymore than that will compromise your health.
Gavin R You can just get the food for someone else.
Get the food and sell it at lower prices or something
Warren Buffet is quite old and says he eats junk food all the time
Do you know buffets age?
Those who done heroic deeds while holding or having a McDonalds or Burger King sandwich in their mouth should indeed be given a reward from their respective company.
kirby march Barcena people would prob fake situations so they could get the card
Chris Landry XD
Yeah, but being heroic earns you a year of free McDonald's while being rich and/or famous will earn a lifetime of fast food free. Lovely life in America.
HEY - what about Harry Callahan eating his hot dog just before/during the bank robbery scene in Dirty Harry? Any freebies there then?
My parents still have a Mc Donald's cup that grants the bearer free coffee for life. It was a promotion back in the 80's I believe :)
That's the coolest thing I've heard from this video and the comments! I love it. Thanks for sharing :)
I remember seeing something similar for Hardee's. An older gentleman had it in the mid-90s.
Have you ever tried to take it to a McDonald's and see if they'll still honor it?
Yeah I know it’s been three years but I wanna know if it works too
Did you notice that all the people who have the cards seem to be people who have no need of free food?
and now you see why society is so fucked up...
Jim Fortune especially free fast food I wouldn't think someone like bill Gates would want to eat there.
Wow it’s almost like that’s the point and they aren’t trying to lose thousands of dollars by giving one to somebody who will eat there every day 🤔🤔🤔
Andrewthegreat Then they screwed up with Warren Buffet.
Umm no pretty sure the guy who rescued the kidnap victims could probably benefit from free food every now and then.
so....be rich or know a rich person. otherwise good luck becoming a hero in a mcdonalds when some shit goes down.
ash G.
Yup, let's give the cards for free food to the richest people there are because they will have such a hard time paying for it otherwise.
yes thats the becoming a hero part of my comment...

Free food for a shorter life.
Stormprobe yepp
jezus gettin one of those is a death sentance
Amen brother
So in other words, (barring very rare and extreme circumstances) they only give them to the people who need them the least.
to be fair, being a billionaire is itself a very rare and extreme circumstance.
Sorry
Followup / Sequel: In-N-Out has its "Preferred Customer" coin which gets the bearer a free burger anywhere...
The coin is single use though. Plus if you don't work there it would be pretty hard to get one aside from ebay
I love how being heroic earns free food for one year and being rich enough to fly to Paris for lunch everyday earns you a lifetime of free food.
The rich eat for free. Yay.
namefinder while the broke have to pay
That's how they stay rich. Not even the rich can afford the price of resturant food.
Uhhh. Yes they can. They can afford private jets and yachts and mansions but can't afford to eat at a restaurant? Alrighty.
Bob Even that is not free lol that's actually 3x as expensive...
What, you just now noticed this?
McDonald's had a promotion back in the early 2000's you could get a gold card that would give you special promotions. They screwed up and did not print a closing date on these cards, so if you had one they had to honor it. I lost mine and it breaks my heart lol.
We are IF your life sucks
Million and Billionaires getting free food and here I thought the world was corrupt
Sell ur herbs mang u could be swimmin in green 2 altho dutch money isnt green exept the 100euro bill
That's called being successful idiot. They aren't going to hand you one if you're homeless and/or a junkie...
Shan Sohi wow you called me an idiot I'm so hurt. You can't even understand the context of my comment. I bet you're so tough on a keyboard but in reality your probably just a little shit. Don't start shit you can't finish cause one day someone will kick your ass
Shan Sohi bahahahaha keep up the comments they are super entertaining. What a loser
How ironic is it that a couple of the richest men in the world can get free food from McDonald's?
the rich get richer and the poor get poorer :(
They are given to those that don't need them and exist for publicity.
Not ironic at all. Irony is predicated on the result being unexpected. There's NOTHING unexpected about rich leeches in this country getting help they don't need.
LaserTrentGaming too bad
@@garyenwards1608 Here we go again...
Billionaires get free McDonalds, yeah they need the charity during these hard times.
Dale C sure you did.. proof?
Beavis So how is Butthead these days? You guys finally score or what!?
If you didn’t get at least one of those cards after making that video I’ll be very disappointed.
I've never been at such a low point in my life that I can't even enjoy a burger. That's actually fairly comforting.
Do they give one to the people who have worked at these places and have been robbed at gun point, or would such a policy financially harm the companies?
Sounds like an open invitation to faux robberies, just to get the cards.
I guess there would be the potential for a few not to bright to attempt it, but the risk would be kind of high for a fast food card. Imagine getting caught and being asked:
So, what are you in for?
Well...
That would be quite a financial hit! That could total in the hundreds of thousands!! I think their usual MO is to fire whoever gets robbed!
Giving insanely rich people these cards is like giving Eskimos free bikinis. Makes no sense
It's more symbolic than charitable.
We wouldn't even use it, we'd still wear a t-shirt and basketball trunks
@Steven Zurk - Yeah, everyone gets it, but most will seldom if ever use it or mention they have it. Then again, the corps can't lose because they might get in the news for it and will rarely have to accommodate the card holders. With the exception of Buffet, who is said to eat at McDonald's quite a lot.
That Robert Downey Jr. anecdote at 6:29 was the best, especially after learning Burger King only gives these cards to those they deem "friends of the brand". :D
so they are only given to people who have no actual use for them at all because they are already beyond rich
So basically to get free food for life u need to have so much money u don't need free anything
Good marketing gimmick. They know the free publicity will always outpay the actual food costs.
So that's good publicity for McDonald's and Burger King
radspeed team 113 that’s what I was thinking the whole time I was watching this.
Nobody says you only have to eat the free food.
And that is where these special "free meal deals" truly belongs.
have you noticed that the more money you have the more free stuff is presented to you
calder bennetts that's economics for you...no logic involved whatsoever
like most things in life counter-intuitive
Cortanasboyfriend It actually makes sense if you have some common sense, if you’re rich you’re probably not going to eat at McDonald’s everyday, this means local franchises won’t go bankrupt from broke bitches using it everyday.
s gfe it's a different kind of logic is what I mean, were it doesn't follow common sense it follows business sense.
It’s just fucking advertising why is is this comments section just idiots whining
I had free McDonalds coupons for lunch 20 years ago in Moscow, Russia.
Москва, Россия, это интересно, я хотел бы посетить. Я изучаю русский язык! Xорошего дня!
Arina and you're still alive?!? May wonders never cease!!
What a great story!
Given the choice between their burgers and their coupons I probably would have opted for the latter as well.
Bowie Addict He said McDonald's in Russia, not America
If I recall correctly, my oldest half brother (who is 20 years older than me) was given a card when he graduated high school which entitled him to unlimited free food at any McDonald's for 5 years. This made him rather popular during college.
Where was this since you spell the name with “Mac” instead of “Mc”?
magister343 Thats great! At least somebody that needs it got it! 👍☺
My uncle who built a mcdonalds gave us free chicken nuggets, fries, and medium soft drimks for a year.
lit
Why all these rich people? It’s not like they can’t afford it..
atenahena that's exactly why.
That's the power of advertising.
ohh ok
One time at Mc Donalds:
Guys, guys, I have a brilliant idea: let's give our low-quality, tasteless fastfood to the people who need it the most: the billionaires!
vealck If they were to hand these out to the poor, the ones who needs it, then those people would constantly get food for themselves and people that they know, which would cause the company to go bankrupt, as opposed to the rich who don't really use it anyways. Furthermore, handing them out to famous people will get the brand more publicity and potentially encourage some to get out of their way and do something beneficial to the company so they can get these cards.
Well, shit, that's an eye opener... right up to this point I honestly thought that big companies were actually charities.
If you've seen the recent outrage on Star Wars Battlefront 2 and EA, you would know that companies like EA are SO not charities. They are big corporations trying to make profit and keep things going. EA might have pushed it a bit too far though.
It seems that I somewhat overestimated your ability to detect sarcasm.
+ A perfectly normal Internet user To be fair, the situation with Battlefront EA 2 is pretty fucked. If you want full details on its fuckedness, just ask.
so, mostly free food for billionaires cards...
Giving all this free food to people who will never need free food.
It doesn't matter who we are, what matters is our plan. Yes because then they won’t use it, if you have free food for life to poor people that’s all they would eat and they would loose a ton of money
it would be a pretty short life if you made full use of one of these cards
PLEASE can we get one for Donald Trump?
Lilac Lizard we want trump to live... pence is much worse
Why? He's a great president, should get one for that idiot Obama.
TL;DW
They only give them to people who wouldn't have any problem affording fast food anyway. So, if you want one, you probably will never get one.
"They only gave them to rich people who don't need them, why not give them to the poor?!"
Precisely because they know that wealthy people won't use them much. Give one to a homeless person, he'll be eating for free all day every day, and probably sharing with his friends, potentially bankrupting the local franchise.
Holy shit, a person with his head on right.
Call the press
its not about how much they use it its about the publicity which cant really be done with people who aren't famous
"Food" is a dubious definition in both cases ;)
Nandos is good though ;)
If it actively shortens your life, I believe the proper word is :poison. Tasty though.
McDonalds fries are just *to die* for!
GBatT
Most stuff fall under that category then.
The last 2 times I ate a McD it treated my stomach as a trampoline. The first time might have been a bad stomach but the second was a hint. That was over a decade ago.
So the only people that have them are the ones that really don’t need them.
Eezee True. Lol! 😃
Eezee It makes sense. You give it to the people you know won't abuse it because they have no need to do such things.
Kenan Šabić thats why you gotta get rich as hell go to mcdonalds and get free food for all the homless people there
The problem is everyone says "I'm gonna get rich and help out the poor," then people get rich, and then realize that they didn't become rich by handing out money
Yes, by all means, give billionaires free food. There aren't enough starving people in the world who could use a bite or 2.
janet lavergne it's not like them not paying for the meal is means food doesn't go to someone starving that otherwise would. The one thing g has nothing to do with the other.
They benefit from having the billionaires over from publicity, it’s cheaper giving them free food than to pay them to show up
so they "thoughtfuly" hand out free food to people that have enough money to get anything they want and more....
Have you spent your working life at one of these chains? Have you promoted these chains in any way that have provided millions of sales? Fuck off
If I'm understanding this video correctly: Only the Wealthiest of people have these cards that give free food from restaurants that mostly people with little money eat at. I guess that's one way to make sure those cards don't get used.
Chedarmentos Brown truee
Closest I ever saw to a "Free for Life" type card was the few times the wife of the Stores owner/operator came in. Yes being related to the owner got you free food.
It's sad how these rich people who definitely do not need a free meal get these cards. Fascinating topic!
thats why the companies only give the cards to those people. so that they dont actually get used and the company doesnt lose money.
Exactly. And it's a publicity win if they do.
Let the rich folk have the free heart-attack-burgers. They can afford the hospital bills.
Woe unto me, fuck off!
NoThisIsPratickStar someone is mad go fuck yourself you 12 year old.
*feel underprivileged children*
big thumbs, small screen.
Yep, why encourage the filthy rich to eat fast food and die early when they create jobs that support families? We should give fast food the underprivileged children.
do explain how giving the rich free food creates jobs?
the people giving out the free food are doing so for the kickbacks whatever they maybe.
Nbd."
Mitt Romney's dad was governor of the State of Michigan.
DDS029 oh, do you mean that the McDonald's gift was a gift to a Statesman?
The gift could have had nothing to do with that, but thank you for the clarification
what about happy gilmore with the card granting him free subway for life??
Thank you, British VSauce. You truly are my greatest friend.
Wait, so I'm not the only one who knows how to spell Vsauce? Everyone else spells it "vsause".
He looks like Jackson Galaxy, too, a little
The gates foundation gave out 10 dollar mcdonalds gift cards to my entire school for taking part in some kinda survey or something.
So its more like affiliate marketing xd it is true famous have alot of audience and would be an good strategy
Ten dollars does not buy one meal from McDonald's. You can buy seven cheeseburgers and three large drinks for ten dollars.
Don't waste your time watching 10 minutes of this video. I'll tell you what happens. billionaires get the cards for free food.
Dylan Tomasi The McDonalds Monopoly campaign in Germany once had a card like this as one of the prices.
Dylan Tomasi then you didn't watch it. Charles Ramsey was no where near a rich guy.
1. I never read the comments before watching the video so yours went unheeded.
2. Comments do not come with a British accent.
Dylan Tomasi thank you sir this video is absolutely bullshit and waste of time!
Dylan Tomasi thank u 😂
The rescue of the girls is really cool. Mr Ramsey should get free food! Lol really cool.
The Universe has a twisted sense of humor
Well these food franchises aren't in the business of charity, handing out cards to important people is good marketing, plain and simple .
How is it good marketing when the majority of their client base is the average Joe. You think wealthy, important people are waiting in line for a soggy $2 burger when they can have a good one? lol
card of death
Mhm
its a licence to poop
Card of death? Perhaps, but at least I would die happy.
Again, why give these cards to people with no use for them? Give at least the yearly one to the homeless! Come on now!
Massey Forbusiness so they don’t loose money. It’s a publicity stunt not for people benefit only McDonald’s
Exactly. How often is Warren Buffett likely to actually eat at McDonald's? If I had as much money as Scrooge McDuck (like, say, Warren Buffett does), I'd never even drive past one of their restaurants if I could help it, much less eat there.
Ixion28 He eats there every day.
Kahmoj: If that's true, it's like finding out that he drives a 35 year-old Yugo. Either he's A: a miserably cheap bastard, or B: he thinks it gives him "the common touch", or C: his taste in food is worse than that of the average stray dog.
Ixion28 Or, he knows the value of the dollar.
I'm glad I was already eating greasy fast food when I watched this - otherwise it would have made me hangry.
yep!! its got me on the phone ordering a sausage MC muffin!! 🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔
So it's just one huge publicity stunt. Most people that have these cards are famous millionaires that don't use it anyway.
What did the world do to deserve such a wholesome TH-cam channel?
"... and in the video today we look at whether Simon ever sleeps...... " :D
Funny how its the richest people that get free stuff...
yeah cann you feel it cann you feeel itt uhhhn yeahhh
At 2:18 if you pause and look at the gold card, it says valid only at Santa Barbara and goleta locations, this is where I live and this is also where the egg mcmuffin was invented
Figures only people who would already have no problem paying for their food would get one. Though if you that rich why are you eating at McDonald's?
Savannah Simpson that's the point they never go to McDonald's so it's kinda like a novelty.
actually warren buffet has mcdonalds for breakfast every day
Because the cheapest skinflints in America are the rich.
It’s advertising of someone sees a celebrity at McDonald’s, or if the celebrity mentions the card, it’s marketing
I love how these companies love donating free food and gear to people who could otherwise afford a lifetime supply for themselves and won't even let the homeless people take a piss in the bathroom.
A lifetime of Burger King food sounds like a terrible obligation.
A heart attack in the making.
I think it'd be easier to just buy a McDonald's franchise
I had a friend that was a BK worker and was hit with a ricochet from a robber's hold up. He got a card that allowed him three free meals a day forever. Also got paid 6 weeks recovery time at full time rate. To add the card was embossed to him, but no one ever asked for ID when we'd get food.
They know you'll die within a year anyway if you eat there all the time so the joke's on you!!
A British dude saying "soccer player" without flinching. I'm so proud of you Sam - that takes guts.
How sad if you have billions and are still to cheap to pay for a few hamburgers...
prob why they have billions
ameliorated exactly, you don't get rich spending money. Then once you are the more money you have the less you have to spend.
For them penny pinching is an adventure that they enjoy
to tell you Not wish no it’s how they keep their money... if you’re getting something for free, why would you pay for it?
Well that is sorda how you make billions. You don't waste or throw away any money period. As my grandfather always said "you don't get rich by giving money away"
When you watch so much of a channel on youtube you think you're subscribed but then you realize after 3 days you aren't so you just press that little button.
Give the cards to poor people who can't do anything for you... Then I'll be impressed.
Lose some weight to impress me
Amen to that!
There would be uproar around McDonald's trying to take advantage of the poor or something lol
That's called communism
When a celebrity goes to a fast food place, I think it can really help the business overall. I remember seeing a picture of Princess Diana in line at a McDonalds (that was really busy) in 80's or 90's. I like McDonalds and Burger King for their pretty good food and reasonable prices.
How funny that rich folks seem to get these cards...
at this time 133 people have disliked this video and it makes me wonder if its only trolls trying to ruin small business owners channels, or if someone actually doesn't realize how accurate and entertaining this channel is
They should pay us to eat that garbage.
The greatest part of being insanely wealthy is that everyone gives you everything for free. Clothes, watches, phones, $600 shades, shoes? No worries.
To get a "free food for life" coupon, you have to be someone who would never, ever need one.
Seems so unfair it's all million and billionaires!
but why would u want to eat at mcdonalds, do you want to die at 40?
yeah, kill the rich first
When I was a teenager, I got free food from a Burger King when the owner (or manager) saw me digging through the cardboard behind the dumpster.
Ah yes, because giving these cards to fucking millionaires, the people who would never actually need them. For fucks sake.
the reason they give the rich people free food is because others will see rich people eating in there, and want to eat in there just because the rich person is. simple human psychology, somebody of their status would never eat in a cheap place like McDonalds without some kind of reason to aka free food
Ya they should give them to the poor because the poor really need more McDonalds food. That will solve the obesity problem in this country. The card is ceremonial in nature and probably almost never gets actually used. (except for Warren Buffett)
*Billionaires
IIRC I know someone who got one after getting the entire staff fired because they got her order wrong, spit in her food, and didn't follow protocol when she asked for a refund or another burger.
so they give the free food to millionares and billionares.....hmmmmmmmmm
TigerShark if you look into warren buffett he eats mcdonalds every day and his meal depends on the market. It's more of an acknowledgement as a loyal customer/thanks for the free publicity
The cards don't exist for charity pal
Its easier to give a guy who would spend only $3,000 on fast food in his life time a chance to advertise you than pay millions in ads and thousands gift cards for your average joe, ever think about that Communist Jack?
chicken fuckers? So that means your dad cant go in
In Australia senior card holders get free tea/coffee forever anywhere in the country & there use to be a card that if you purchased a certain item or meal you’d receive a free sundae or apple pie for example and it’d be valid at a certain McDonald’s for a year
