    This is a very helpful video, especially involving the issues with continuity and creating complex patches. My current project involves a mix of organic and mechanical modeling (Making a helmet camera) and the seams will bug me. My trial expired so I'll be getting my licence.

      Glad it helped. Mind you, you won't get access to the version I was using until 1.2 is released unless you get studio version. Functionally 1.1 still works the same except for UI on the patches will be colored dots instead of G0 G1 G2 black dots.

      @@Glenn3D1993 i discovered that last night and I'm glad it's there. I'll resurface my model to ensure full smoothness

    If you bevel the corners of your polygon sketch before you cut the surface you will get better results. It's the sharp corners causing the issue.

      Very true, starting with Cleaner cuts will give better results. I was a total noob on surfacing when I did this video, but even now I still struggle with some surfacing situations.

    This was very cool, please do more on this topic, as someone coming from usually doing a subdiv workflow this is really enlightening. I usually would have just stopped at that bevel and wouldn't have though about doing patch for that gun handle.

      I was in your spot a few months ago, coming from Poly modeling in Zbrush for a couple decades. Surfacing techniques are fascinating to me, I was playing with that Gun Handle few weeks ago and decided to do a patch on it, along with the update to the UI and it finally clicked in my brain on what was going on. Think I'll start doing some lofting and patch exercises to help folks out.

      @@Glenn3D1993 Yep, I need to start playing with lofts and patches more as well. I'm finishing up a project so my next goal is to try and make some soft surface looking designs with that system.

    continue the Plasticity theme. Many people have not yet realized that this program is the future. But the trend is set and there is no turning back.

    • @Glenn3D1993

      That's the Plan. Got a Few Videos lined up in the next week. I knew this program would go Big within a year of release, I've been messing with it since late last year.

    • @TheALEXMOTO

      @@Glenn3D1993 I like your plan. I would like to see some modeling of a subject from start to finish not in an accelerated video with explanations for beginners. I just don't know what you like more guns, cars, trains or just radios :)
      Thank you!

      Thanks for your Support. Next month or two I'll get to a full tutorial, trying to keep em short and sweet right now. People's attention span these days is extremely short due to tick toc, trying to make TH-cam Algorithms like me again lol.

      Kinda Cool ain't it, but can be a headache adding additional guides. Not a Perfect Science

    is there a way to see through object, like Wireframe mode in blender to checkout my imported reference

    • @Glenn3D1993
      @Glenn3D1993  ปีที่แล้ว

      You should be able to adjust the opacity of reference meshes through by adjusting material by typing m on keyboard, though I think you need to be in different render mode for it to take effect. I'll have to test it out this evening.

    Hi nice tutor! im a new in Plasticity, sohave many many questions:D first of all, i have the indie version, 1,1, but i dont know how to update it to 1,1,17. can you help?

    • @sebastienmorere6925
      @sebastienmorere6925 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      HI , 1.1.17 it's beta version , this is only accessible with the studio version

    • @Glenn3D1993
      @Glenn3D1993  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately, I believe indie versions will have to wait for 1.2 release. I'm on Studio license, so I get access to unstable Beta.

    • @Glenn3D1993
      @Glenn3D1993  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes, once 1.2 is out then newer Patch UI will be out. Hopefully in the next week or so, no guarantee though, depends on bugs Nick runs into. Though everything in the Video can be done, just the UI is different with little colored dots representing G1 G2.

    I hope this doesn't go to auto desk or be come a subscription program.not sure this will run on a laptop with rtx 3070 8gb and 32gb of ram

    • @Glenn3D1993
      @Glenn3D1993  ปีที่แล้ว

      Don't think there will be a sell out right away. Think you'll be okay with that laptop, my desktop is 3080 and 32gb RAM and it's butter smooth, accidentally had it on high quality for a day and didn't notice a difference. You can try for free for 30 days to test it out, but wait till July 15th when 1.2 comes out to play with newer enhancements
