DUDE I live in the town right where that Aldi's is, and I go past that place frequiently. I remember when that store was open before it got moved in town! I saw the thumbnail and was like "Why the hell does that look so familiar?" then I realized!!! I've been wanting to go in there since it closed, so it's cool to finally see what it looks like! Hope you had fun visiting our little nowhere town, too! YOU WOULD NEVER UNDERSTAND THE ABSOLUTE FEAR OF BEING TINY AND HAVING TO VENTURE DOWN THAT HALLWAY TO THE BATHROOMS----It was like being in a horror movie, and I'm pretty sure I'm the reason why those signs above the baggage counter say "Do not sit" are there...I was a chaotic child

I don’t know if you could get in, but it’s a giant abandoned brown building next to Poplar Street-rumor has it that a boy got murdered or died there or something-another good one is the abandoned warehouse building next to the Library, it has some vile graffiti on it-but that place would be cool to explore too I think!
Reading all the labels it sounds like you're shopping! There's an Aldi in my town still open (east of Dallas). I like that you can put a quarter in and take a cart then if you return it you get your quarter back. I remember your wedding video - loved it!!! Happy Anniversary

You are spot on w/ the safe tho. The smaller drawers were for cash drawers and the cashier would just look for their name. Visiting anywhere else or just going w/ the flow? Aldi’s definitely has better prices without a doubt. When they first opened in this area, it was a dump. But now it’s come a long way. The stores are clean now so I will shop there. I hope you guys had a great time here. I would say welcome to NY, but I assume you’re back home by now. I also hope you went somewhere good for wings. Hi Riddim I live on Long Island in New York State and I live a quarter of a mile from an Aldi. I don’t shop there because I am a cashier in another major supermarket and I shop there. First of all Aldi doesn’t sell brand name items and I pretty much like the brand name products and also it is a smaller grocery store. I could never do a weeks worth of shopping there. As I said it’s a smaller store so they have enough room for what they are selling. You did a nice job showing us around. Thank you for sharing this exploration with us. Stay safe and well.👍🆒😊
This Aldi by comparison to ones near me has a LOT more European characteristics but it sure has an obviously older look. I love it. By Comparison it looks like one I could have visited myself when I was in Germany. Netto and Lidl were in my area but I know what it all looks like. All the store equipment seems to come directly from Europe as well like the Bosch and Siemens alarm and camera stuff. I couldn't imagine why this was closed down, it seems like such a perfect store. l remember an EDEKA Grocery store outside of my base in Germany that closed because there was a new Edeka that was built right down the road (You could see it from the new store) The new one compared to the old was not a good upgrade. It lacked character and color and the aisles were smaller. What were they thinking?

Happy anniversary! I wish we had Aldi's in Canada. Evidently there are many reasons why they haven't opened business here. There's another grocery Lidl that would also be welcome here. Both stores are discount grocers and they are both based in Germany.
This store is laid out Exactly like our Aldi's in Florida. Some things are on shelves while others are in Open Boxes. Cashiers don't bag items you must pull your cart over to the counter across from the registers and bag them your self With the Bags you brought with you😊
Just an FYI…Aldi is the company brand name of two German multinational family-owned discount supermarket chains operating over 12,000 stores in 19 countries. The mainly sell their store brand of groceries at deep discounts. They also own the store brand Trader Joe’s grocery stores. I can’t believe an Aldi store that seemed profitable pre pandemic would be abandoned. I am in SC and not local so I don’t know why it closed. Maybe they needed more space?

@@RiddimRyder btw be careful entering abandoned grocery stores because rats and toxic gas can be inside them depending on the neglegence of the owners. There was a disaster called the mexia supermarket disaster i think where everything was left in the store and the rotten potatoes had produced such an intense amount of toxic gas they had to send in people in hasmat suits with oxygen tanks to clean up the place.
I work as a cashier at a Kroger brand store in America and I gotta say, yeah $1.99 per pound of chicken wings is extremely cheap, at my store the cheapest is usually $3.00 (with deals) a pound $5.00 without deals, so no wonder that Aldi went out of business, especially that it seems it's last date was 2018, so it might have been suffering some and then with the hit of COVID, the small store just went bankrupt.
It is sad to see an Aldi store shut down it is our go to place here in the UK the food is reasonably cheap and a lot of it is good quality a very large one has been opened recently close to our home town.
