Some people actually say they hear church bells right before they die, which means it could be God letting them know their time is due. Plus, some people suspect L is a Christian (I mean his grave was in the shape of a cross, indicating he might be a Christian)
Huh ur good spoken like a true Christian believer my friend
@@zephaniahgaming5193 thank you for the compliment, may Christ bless you.
The weird thing is that the creator said that there was never heaven or hell in the final episode it said everyone will go to nothingness i think the show should have had a hell and heaven tho it worked rather well in my opinion also it fits the godly feeling and music
There's a lot of parallels between L and Light with Jesus and Judas.
L/Jesus gave Judas a chance to repent and come clean.
Light is a member of the task force led by L, just as Judas is a follower of Jesus.
The most blatant of all is L washing Lights feet.
Even before L showed himself in the flesh, there was a certain omnipotence to his presence. A mystery. Like how God sent Jesus.
When L dies, his presence is still manifest with mello and near (this part of stretching, but let's be honest the plot dropped after L died)
@@knightstormbringer that’s also what I think makes the series a whole lot better.
you’re well educated and smart
That silence was loud.
He really said “should I tell the truth this time? 🤔🤔🤔”
Death note quiz is live on play store? 😮
L Touched light's soul like David goggins be saying. He could have just said of course but light probably knows he would ask another question
Light wanted attention? So he made mistakes so that he could get attention? Light did not know what to do with the attention? So he made up the plan to be God? Also maybe Light made mistakes because he wanted someone to stop him?
L was always about 90% + sure Light was kira , he simply could not get the evidence he needed.
He would have had the evidence, cept a death god took him out. Boss status.
That fact that it took a shinigami, gods of death, to stop L is crazy
@@Sengoku_1in a way not really he never would have gotten L’s name because miss wasn’t allowed near L after they got their memories back
@@Sengoku_1and L gave nobody his name he’s probably not even a citizen in Japan he would have never found out his name but this also could have been true for the other wammi’s house kids unless there is a mikami scenario
It's not about what you know it's about what you can prove in court
Imagine L just fakes a heart attack just to see the reaction of Light 💀
lol
that would be a giga brain moment
It's wouldn't change anything because still there's wasn't any evidence
He actually does this in the movie timeline and ends up winning against light
Have you seen the 2006 movie “Death Note the last name”?
L wiping Light Yagami’s feet is a reference to Lord Jesus Christ wiping Judas’s feet knowing Judas is going to betray him.L knew all along .
Judas has one of the saddest stories in the mythology. Forced to betray his most beloved master, for the sake of the prophecy.
@@eduardosantana8300 He wasn't forced though? From the Bible, Judas didn't know anything, he only knew of what is in the present at that time, there's also no prophecy.
@@shinzososaku11 the Bible is a compilation curated by the Catholic Church. They decided, which gospels would make the cannon. There were others that were left out even though they were older, or just as authentic as the rest of the gospels. Most things that threatened the authority of the Catholic Church and the pope as the vessel of the Holy Spirit on earth, was labeled as heresy. The gnostic texts are just as relevant as the Bible to any sect that isn’t Catholic. Why should the Christian be limited to the selection made by the Roman Catholic Church?
@@shinzososaku11 If you are interested, the gospel of Judas has been partially translated. You can probably find a video here that tells you more or less what’s on it. Many of the gnostic texts are widely available to read fully translated.
@@eduardosantana8300Very unlikely Judas wrote that gospel since he killed himself shortly after betraying Jesus and he wasn't forced to do anything, he betrayed him because he wanted to.
I wonder if L purposely choose the rain to speak because the building microphones wouldn't be able to pick up what they were saying. In a way, this was L giving Light a chance to really say what he wanted to another human being for the first time in his life.
He also wanted to try and save his life , If Light had some paper sheet from the note somewhere hiding under his clothes , they would have been all wet and impossible to use.
I suspect him to give a massage to try and see inside in shoes or somewhere if there was some pieces of paper hidden.
Damnnn that's deep! I never realized that and always found this scene unusual! Thanks for sharing!
Wow that’s a pretty awesome observation. I wouldn’t put it past the writers
@@Shinichi-Kudo911 the massage and wiping of the feet were a callout to jesus washing juda's feet knowing judas will betray him

I love death note and I must admit when I saw L's death i cried😢😢😢😢
That first time seeing it was tough I agree
Well deserved
i was depressed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i legit thought he would get revived by the life note because i saw the smosh death note video when i was a kid i thought it was a real thing
Bro I’m gay for L
He also waits to address it until they are apart from everyone else with the guise of rain to hide what they said in any scenario. The only opportunity they had to talk real. One on one.
And light refused to give up his act kind of wish we could have seen them actually talk
This is when L found out Kira in fact is actually Light Yagami. He expected that answer because that’s what a psychopath will choose to say.
@@YMLxRuSHHow is Light a psychopath
@amadbhutta449
What?? What answer? I think his answer was normal?? L said himself that his answer was a logical/basic answer What are you talking about
@@b.u.8615yeah it is indeed a normal response. Even the silence before that is also normal. I mean someone just asked you that out of nowhere? Anyone could definitely get taken aback with that.
There's also a bit of mind games here. Taking the question literally, there's no way Light absolutely never told a truth. (I mean, "what's your name?" "Light Yagami"). L pretty much says Light is full of Lies, and I could see a "normal" Light (or anyone) defending Lying in this situation instead of denying it.
I cant help but find it kinda funny that both L and Light know whats about to happen and i think they know that the other knows as well. Light just cant really say it. Seeing as L said that he was childish and hated losing it also really fits L to essentially say "I know I'm going to lose, but I've always known what you are. It's just that these idiots didn't believe me."
I mean the real confirmation was Light's sudden shift in personality. When his memories were wiped anytime L would suggest Light was Kira it would make Light get super offended and angry. But this time Light gives some vaugue political response. This basically proved to L that Light got his memories back and his death was imminent
He predicts his death, how he predicts his death in live action 2006.
Live action ? 😅
We do not speak of the live action
@@dameiondarthard3878 the japanese live action is actually good
@@dameiondarthard3878fr it was terrible
The Japanese two part live action movie, along with the follow up "L Saves The World", were actually pretty good.
The most interesting fact about this anime is that we felt the same sadness and sorrow on both L's and Light's death we admired them both equally they were the epitome of intelligence in fiction honestly imagine if they worked together
You ADMIRED light? Bro, you need help. The dude is a mass murderer. God knows what he would do if he succeeded in controling the world. Odds are that he would kill anyone that would not worship him as a true god. That was how big his God complex was
I had zero sadness for that scumbag Light… im still hurting for L though…
When Light died I was so angry. People can hate him all he they want it doesn't change the fact that Light is one of the greatest anime characters of all time.4
Nope, screw Light 🪛🕯️
Manipulative, narcissistic, psychopathic piece of trash
nah light can rot
Well no, L wasn't just figuring out for a fact that Light was Kira here, it'd be better fitted to say he was finally dropping the cat and mouse game and admitting defeat.
Guy doesn't like to lose, so it makes complete sense to tell his murderer before his own death that even though he knows the jig is up he was never fooled for even a second as to who was really pulling the strings and calling the shots.
A last laugh in a way, no more perfect a way for L to go.
Yeah, you can also put it that way
This is actually a pretty good way to put it, I totally agree 👍
Cept Light wasn't his murderer.
The way you described it make it so sad for me 😢
@@arcguardianhe was xD he forced Rem to a situation where she had to kill him.
Its like saying hitler never killed someome, his soldiers did xD light killed him.
Ls death was actually the saddest in the entire death note. Though I have to make a correction in this Video, L already knew light was Kira even before this scene but he just couldn't proof.
That was what made the rest of the anime not as exciting. Cos all Near and Mello had to do was proof that Light was Kira.
Yeah, and a bunch of the stuff they deduce just comes out of nowhere. Unlike with L we actually see the gears moving in his head and slowly put the pieces together.
Saddest in the death note? No bro saddest in the anime history. That's why the part after that felt not so exciting.
For me rems death was the saddest one, she just wanted the best for misa...
@@dexterfromlabs nah its not even close to the saddest
Looking back at it, Light was playing the game exactly as it’s supposed to be played and played it divine level, L knows this deep down.
bro really meatriding light
Well, Light had a pretty unfair advantage too, knowing how the death note worked and all. L had to learn the rules as he played and still had Light cornered.
It’s because this is the last chance L is giving light to find someone that understands him and he ultimately ends up being selfish and choosing to become this god type figure
It took an intangible, practically immortal being to kill L. It’s annoying that he died and annoying that N was the one to take Ls work and catch Light, but still. Amazing respect for L
The only annoying thing is that Japan has death penalty and the task force was writen with that weird moral code against testing the note on a guy scheduled to die. L hinted that the case would be close, you don't need to be a genius to figure It out that the 13 day rule would only benefit Light and Misa. It's even worse because they realized that instantly once Near suggested that a rule was fake, 6 years later. Why couldn't they 6 years before when L said It?
Plus probably one of the most ridiculous amount of plot armour in all of Animanga.
I just wish the special force wasnt that fucking stupid. I'm sure they knew what L's plan was. Once L and Watari died they should have locked Light up, confiscate all his belongings and do the exact thing L was about to do. But instead they just I don't know forget that L was about to expose Light when he very conveniently died.
@@torakka2ow640 Well the whole series was showing incompetent police who are in awe of L. With maybe a couple exceptions, but none that really matter
@@yozarian86 That's what pissed me off. L did all the heavy lifting. All they had to do was to put the pieces together. You really didn't need two weird looking genius kids to end it when literally any idiot off the street could put the evidence together and have Light in chains. There is absolutely nothing Light could have done if they detained him and retried the test L was going to perform.
After chewing through the information, L was so obsessed with Light being Kira, that he could not take it out of his mind. Light also made too many mistakes making it personal.
light "breaths"
L "my suspection of you being kira has increased to 97%"

Its said to me that he always said that light was kira and no one believed him, but when near (a kid) says it than they believe it
That's not what happened. Years past between in the show and after light took over the investigation he got sloppy a few times, like with the reporter and the notes in the hotel room. The investigation team slowly started to suspect light as well, since the best detectives in the world (L, Mello and near) all were completely convinced that light is Kira. And by the end they had finally obtained all the evidence they needed with light having a psychotic episode and bragging about it on top of it. Only after all that were they completely convinced.
He already knew he was Kira, it's just the evidence is not enough, and Light makes Lawliet consider him as his friend. What makes this all things work is when light plotted things before he erases his memories.
Did Light want to get caught thus making mistakes or was light incompetent at what he was doing?
If Light did not want to get caught he probably would not have gotten caught.
L knew from the beginning that Light was Kira he just couldnt prove it
L always knew light was kira he just didnt have the evidence to prove it to the ppl
L always knew that Light was Kira, its just eventually he started to think of light as a friend, so it was too painful to accuse him. Also he did'nt have sufficent evidence
L was like a crewmate that always knew who the imposter was, but just couldn’t find enough evidence to prove it..
At least L outsmarted light in the 2006 live action
Xd
That movie was AWFUL!
Let's pretend it doesn't exist
@@Forrest1989you mean the American version, the Japanese live action versions was good.
@@Forrest1989the 2017 film was awful, the 2006 ones were really good
I literally cried so hard when he died. Ngl I was praying that L should be an angel or something so that he cant die 😂. But its a nightmare for me, my hatred for Light got increased by 10x after L's death. L was my fav character and he didn't deserve that.
L was a way smarter then Light, yet he just gave up. Light litterally had two gods and two notes with Misa, definately cheating. Since 25th episode i hate Light the most. Aaaa i miss Ryuzaki sm
@@ol_ogg1606 Ikr. I guess L just gave up because he didn't have any evidence and time was running out, he knew that Light would kill him anyday so he just made sure he collected enough points so that the next person who investigates can start from where he left. And yeah, count me in for the Light Hating gang. That man totally deserved that ending and I am not a bit sad for him.
Ngl I hated Light since the day he killed Naomi (the detective's wife)
L is emotionally weak, he never had a normal teenage life. Light is his first ever buddy.
This hit Light extra hard because he probably just calculated the best thing to say in that moment. There were seldom times where Light doesn’t think before speaking to L. The kindest way to say, “I know this is BS so please be honest with me. You’ve won anyway.”
And light being light he didnt care and kept up the facade
And this is where the anime basically when to shit is after Ls death
L knew light was Kira the moment he put those cameras up in Lights house and Light made that slick comment about the 1500 investigators
It is funny that light is like "I won i am better than you L" all with the help of misa and 2 shinigami the 2nd of which sacraficed herself to save misa by killing L meaning light didnt really beat L a shinigami did.
I always consider that L didn't think of dying as a loss. His death assisted Near and Mellow in catching Kira. That was always his goal, no matter the cost, even at the expense of his own life.
Light planned it that way tho
That's a Cop out that man got spanked light took was more risk than L did
That's something that occurred to me when I came back to the series recently. L was essentially playing the game without knowing any of the rules. He was at a major disadvantage and still nearly won. I can see now that L was by far the superior mind, just not by enough.
Light has every advantage at the start. He was an anonymous nobody in a population of billions, a guy with a secret magic notebook that nobody knew about which could remotely kill targets anywhere in the world with zero physical evidence. They didn't even know what country he lived in. And yet L just kept closing in on him the whole time.
The sad fact that L was going to prove that light is kira but haven’t got time since rem killed him
L figured it out that light is kira and misa is the second kira
But his problem was with that “Fake” rule so he was going to test it and after that he would pretty much prove that light was kira

L couldn't get the evidence and knew he had already been outplayed. He went in to his last gambit already knowing it wouldn't work and he had lost.

that rain part doesnt exist on manga btw
Sad cuz its epic
@@LiillyMiilly The anime made an improvement here
@@Sai4651 yessiirr indeed
yes and there was no scene with a church or talking to watari at that time. in the mange L didnt predict what would come to him but he knew Light would be Kira. Thats why he wanted to find out if the book is real including the 13 days rule.
We all knew L would eventually figure out that Light was Kira because of how skilled he was. Ever since L pulled the trick the day of the broadcast and found out that he was in Japan. He couldn’t figure out how Light was doing it and knew there was a chance that whatever it was he was using had the chance of killing him. He was revealing the advantage, that Light had over him. Therefore, he knew that he may be doomed. It was an “Okay you got me” kind of moment.
That scene was powerful for many reasons. L knew for a good chunk of the show that Light was kira, but PROVING it was the struggle. This scene was basically him admitting defeat to Light and saying he'd won, but also letting it out that L KNEW it was Light, but couldnt do anything about it.
I cried for DAYS after L died... One of my fav anime characters ever ngl 😔
In the Japanese live-action series when L figures out he is dying he writes his own name in the death note and actually beats Light.
live action is dumb
@noahpancakes6507 it's not the live action you are thinking off
Wait which one I’ve only seen the 2017 live version
@@Jarvisdvgnj I saw other comments mentioning a Japanese live action version from 2006, but haven't seen it myself. Just passing on smtg to help you find it
Also a few minutes after the rain scene when L is washing lights feet L says they will be parting ways soon further showing L knew he was going to die
In the manga the rain scene doesn't happen. And L last thoughts were "Light yagami I knew it, i wasn't wrong but I" indicating that L didn't fully believed he was kira.
Source: chapter 58
Feels like a good place to put my opinion on this show: L won, totally. To explain, I'll cover each character's goals. L believes thet he is justice. That murderers most be caught and eliminated, regardless of the means needed. Remember, he illegally detained Misa with no more evidence than his initial arrest. And in Japan, if you arrest someone and can't get any more evidence after a certain period, they have to let you go. L ignored that. L doesn't care about the means as long as he wins. In the battle against Kira, L's win condition is PROVING Light is Kira. Not just getting him arrested. L wants proof because it's not fair if he can't. Sure, most of the world would believe him if he said it was Light due to his reputation, but that's not enough. Light's goal is to avoid detection. To rule the world as Kira until he dies of natural causes. He denies the eyes for this very reason, saying he wants to live a long life. So how did L win? Because his win condition doesn't require him to be alive. L knew Whammy's House existed, so why would he name Light his successor if he was aware of a whole orphanage of L successors in the wings? The answer is that, in naming Light the next L, he forced Light into a position where Light would either need to refuse and look very suspicious, as the Light others see would absolutely want Kira dead for killing L, or accept and join the investigation. Since Light did accept, this means he's forced to interact with L's TRUE successor, and becomes suspect #1 despite all the evidence being erased. Light is forced to deal with a new opponent who doesn't play like L does. Two, actually. And since Light idolized his rivalry with L, he totally underestimates Near and Mello, and they end up bringing about his downfall by proving Light is Kira. L surviving was not necessary. Think of it like sacrificing the queen in chess. L, the queen, is the strongest piece on the board. But played smartly enough, you can make that loss into a trap that screws the opponent.
Light is such a prick. I'm glad Near got him
When L saw Light pick the note up, his expression gives it all up.
Also, when Misa meets Remu again, and gets told light is Kira, she begins to obey him, and L also makes weird expressions when it happens
He was a living legend
i could still remember the ultimate shock we felt when L dropped from that chair. We cannot move on
He knew him time was coming, and when watching his death scene in 2010 my entire living (filled with at least 15+ people) was silent.
This anime is a masterpiece.
Less of a prediction more of an intuitive guess
Light always seemed sus from side, with the pauses in answering and all that.
Guys was i worng the whole time when i sided with Light from the beginning like i CRIED when Light died but obviously i still was sad When L died they're the best 2 in the Movie
I don't think its necessarily "wrong" to side with Light. Plenty of people think Light was right and Light did indeed have a positive impact on the planet, there is no mistaking that. But at the same time, the dude was crazy and his personality really made him horrible. I mean, if he truly only cared about this ideal world that he envisioned and wanted to make the world a better place, he never would have fought L in the first place but he did because he cares more about winning than making the world a better place. So he had good intentions but his personality and crazy nature made him unlikable.
he was not going to mention a funeral, he was going to mention the orphanage he grew up in
Death note is the most underrated anime of all time
Underrated? It was extremely popular, and everyone still knows about it.
Nah, I was in school when it was airing. In no way was it underrated, it was everywhere.
If anything, it was properlyrated XD
Overrated af. Writer would just make the characters react in a certain way to make it seem like theyre geniuses but really they were stupid af. Sooo many plot contrivances
Are you watch death note yesterday
It took me literally 5 years to resume the show after he died…
I never want to hear church bells ringing ever again 😂
The bells were indeed unusually loud
the saddest was mikami and lights in my opinion😭😭
After L read and knew all the DN rules all, he realized all Light's BS, the forgotten memories and how to kill a shinigami, etc.
That question was spot on. I love it ❤😊
L has always known it, but Light was just too good at not leaving any evidence behind. That’s why this battle between them was so intense, one slip up and it’s done
It's his emotions clouded his decisions, the one who killed him is the first person who he considered as his very first friend.
L in thus scene is emotional in their wording. Light on the other hand even though talking in the rain still answers methodically which would profile how kira has a god complex. Of course L cannot based on these emotion of words in a court without evidence.
Katta rahmat video jusa foydali bopti ChatGPT dan so'rash yaxshi idea ekan perfect 👍
L mad because he couldn’t fully prove it was him so L put himself in a position to die 🤣🤣🤣
L's instuition is unbelievable to the point even if Light just breathes he already knows Light is Kira
Just finished Death Note yesterday, it's was a masterpiece
Personally I haven’t fully watched it yet but I feel like L knew the only way to get the evidence he needed would involve his own death. Just a hunch but I think he knew he did 90% of the work but the only way to finish it required a different perspective. You can’t change your perspective.
After listening to this, i suddenly want to draw.
L - (legend) playing game without knowing his rules 😢
Also forgot the part when L admits defeat by revealing himself and said “I’ve lost the battle, but not the war”
The death of L gave me chills. How that mf Light was holding him while giving him the evil smile and saying through his eyes "Yeah mf that Kira was me the whole time"
My favourite part of the anime was when L ask light thag question, shit gave me goosebumps
I’m still crying I haven’t watched death note since
L knew from the start he was Kira. The author said in chapter 13 that any time L gave a % on Light being Kira he was lying its always been 100%
tatsumi from akame ga kills death was one of the saddest deaths in anime history too
Keep in mind L grew up in an orphanage and some orphanages have ministries or churches in there. There was a flash back with L as a kid in what seems like a church. Also when L was washing Light Yagami feet it was symbolism when Judas was getting his feet washed by Jesus before Judas sold out Jesus for 30 silver coins
L knew from the start that light is Kira
L basically knew it from the start he just couldn't prove it
RIP L
Biggest mistake of light is to kill L by takin help of Shinigami if he use misa eyes to kill L the shinigami of misa would be alive and by misa shinigami he can later use him to kill Near
If light make the eye deals it would've seen over a long time ago 💀
Its a pieta,cleaning L's feet
Guys I love L sm and then he died ❤😭
That's not saddest but relieved death
I always thought l knew for a good while but couldn’t prove it bc lights a tricky little dude
Do not forget this is a Filler episode
Omg this scene! I am rolling because the memes for this scene!
It was a Taco Bell meme back in 2009 or 2010. When L says I hear the bell and then someone made the Bell noise from Taco Bell as an edit. And then we had some epic animations of Ryuzaki and Light getting Taco Bell together!
A few other iterations of this meme also had me dying. I miss those ridiculous days! 😂
Didn’t knew L was the Bay Harbour Butcher😱
L been knew light was Kira and when light confused L and L thought he was wrong about Light he knew something was felt weird about it
I still get mindboggled by the fact that the greatest detective in the world was defeated by a mere high schooler not putting down L but Light was on another level .
When i was watching this series for first time i really thought L will comeback
Dude knew waaayy before that he just kept tip toeing around it which low key made me mad.😤🤣
L did not know Light was Kira. But He did know that no one else could be Kira… 👀
L is someone who looks at the minute delay before killing according to the usual schedule as evidence against Light after contacting him so from this you can know why .
it takes a bit of the impact this scene has once you get to know this scene wasn't originally in the manga but still they're great theories
Light was always going to get rid of L, this just sped it up.
Saddest? More like most satisfying. For the first time Villian won.🥶 they always lose bc of stupid plot armor.

LAWLIET WON. IT'S HIS VICTORY AND HE WON MY HEART TOO❤
Lmao, L already knew about Light a long time ago. If there was anything L wanted to say, it would be "You ain't shit without that magic book."
