Obi-Wan: These aren't the droids you're looking for. He may go about his business. Stormtrooper: You can go about your business. Obi-Wan: You want to go home and ponder the scale of the universe and meaning of life. *Stormtrooper walks off*
"Small does not mean unimportant" Every time i come back to this video, i shed some tears, it makes me revaluate my decisions. Most beautiful thing ever, thank you Greedo.
I come back to this video every few years when I'm having a down day/week/whatever just to remind myself that the universe is still full of joys and wonders and that our existence in it is still really goddamn cool. Still my favorite piece of yours and I'm glad you made it.
Honestly, the sheer amount of unexplored star systems and galaxies is really comforting. Kinda like the feeling you get when you realize that there's still more than half of your favorite TV show left to watch, or when you still have 7 out of 15 Hearthstone packs left to open. The feeling that "yes, that cool thing IS there. And I have all the chances in the universo to find it."
Although I admit that I clicked on this video expecting it to be a comedy sketch of some sort, I must say I was pleasantly surprised by the rather different content that you presented. It was certainly moving and thought provoking. And very interesting.
I almost cried at how beautiful this is. I know you drew a lot of inspiration from both incarnations of COSMOS, but I find this video to be one of the best I've ever seen on TH-cam. Thank you so much, HG, for making this.
I think this was one of your best videos yet. You've said before about how you would like to make an educational space video and I think you hit it out of the park. I don't think Vsauce could have done it better.
Damn, you've been busy! This was absolutely fantastic, best thing I've seen in weeks, perhaps even months. They way you speak, and the topic matter is so engrossing that I couldn't help but be intrigued by what you have to say. Your obvious love for the subject is also inspiring, it's lovely to hear someone talk about something that they really love talking about. I'm glad you shared this with us, thanks man.
@hellogreedo i’ve watched this video probably more times than i can count an after five years it still gives me chills im very passionate about space and i think this is one of the most important videos ever made i just want to say thank you seriously you put into words what i can never say thank you again
Man, what an incredible video this is. Keep coming back to this whenever I feel down ... do not know why. "Humbling" (as you states in the clip) may be the reason. Hope you have more of these kind of ideas for videos in the future, cause this is truly wonderful to watch. Thanks!
Awe-inspiring. I feel so lucky and privileged to be alive in a time where we as a species are able to contemplate our place in the cosmos and ask these questions. Great video!
this is my favorite youtube video hands down. so humbling, so touching, so inspirational. the deeply thoughtful tone of this video comes across as not only motivational, but as a philosophy that i think everyone should live by in terms of positive thoughts and ideas. the words you spoke in this mere 10 minutes have shaped my moral compass. thank you.
This video was awesome, educational, moving, puts things into proportion without it sounding scary (as a lot of scientists talkin about the same subject do) and really suits your voice (not kidding you have a great voice for talking) not just a great video for your channel but a great video for the entirety of youtube, thank you for sharing your knowledge with us!
Faced with the imponderable vastness of the universe, I don't feel small. Not at all. No Human can ever be 'small' in the way we're talking about if they have a goal and people they care for/care for them. I hope to be the brightest and warmest point of light within my own family and to the people I see every day. So long as I hold that hope and that goal, I can never be small. Great video, HelloGreedo, and I enjoyed all three you put out today. Thanks for your work on them.
SIMPLY FANTASTIC! You are surely one of TH-cam's best personalities. I could most definitely watch a whole hour of this. We need more Star Wars experts mixing things up a little more with science fact and space speculation. Bravo!
If i hadn't recently re-watched the Star Wars movies and noticed the edits they made, i wouldn't have found this totally hilarious and inspirational channel. Amazing work you're doing here, keep it up and may the force be with you - always.
you sir, are one eloquent storm trooper. they way you talk brings a level of passion and importance to... well, anything you want it to; whether its something silly, or this beautiful monologue on our place in the universe. when writing/practicing a speech for one of my college classes, i often find myself thinking about your videos. Thanks for being an inspiration. keep up the good work.
My feels, man, my feels... I'm so glad I'm subbed to your channel, because I finally see someone shares a similar opinion of what the importance of not only humans, but every living being in this planet is. You put a tear in my eye, and I thank you for that.
You say that the Hubble ultra deep field is one of the most important images ever captured. I think this video is one of the best and most important videos on TH-cam. Every time I watch this video I am both intrigued and amazed. Well done HG, and thank you!
This video....has changed me, I see the world so much differently now, everything in this is amazing, it's made me realise how small (not unimportant) but small we are and it's made me want to question everything I learn and take all the small things into more consideration because when we see ourselves in some of these pictures it's as if a grain of sand is trying to look at our solar system. I want to discover everything and know and learn everything and make links with some things that could mean something more in a larger scale and think how reality and fact could be completely different things and how our dreams could become reality and everything feels so delicate and precious now and thinking about all this lets me escape from all the issues our planet faces. Thank you HelloGreedo this video is extraterrestrial.
This was an amazing video to watch, just makes you wonder what other life can be out there in the universe, what would it be like, food, ideas, cultures, that's why I love star wars so much, the imagination is endless, maybe someday we can take an adventure in a galaxy far far away.
That was actually beautiful my friend, your open approach in all your videos (this one specially) shows that there's more to you than just a trooper head
WOW HG this is incredible, inspiring, and well exactly how I feel and wish everyone else could understand. Thank you for putting in to words what i can only feel in my heart!
Wow Greedo, fantastic work. Thanks very much for providing your insight. Definitely one of my favorite TH-cam videos I've ever watched. Keep up the good work and may the force be with you.
This was a brilliant video. I love your deconstructing and analysis of story telling but you hit it out of the park with this video. Keep on keeping on.
I personally think the most effective way of space travel would be "Sipspace" or worm holes. Worm holes on their own are unpredictable, so we would somehow need to figure out how to harness them. Slipspace is like a worm hole on a surface level, but is essentially the space between spaces. Essentially opening a hole where you are and where you want to be, similar to a portal. Just my thoughts. Great video by the way.
+Justin Dunn it would take longer to find a wormhole and make it large enough to fit through than it would to actually go to your destination with a regular spaceship
You have motivated me man, keep the videos coming please. I think I just learned more watching this video than going any school or any university can try to teach me
This is one of my favorite videos dude. I love all your videos but you should definitely through in a couple of episodes of this once in a while! Reminds me of the show Cosmos, with the star destroyer like the ship of the imagination. Keep up the good work!
+Ryan Baum That feeling is the devil trying to convince you to sin so god wont take you into his special place after death so you have all the things you always wanted as long as they are not sinful...or fun...or interesting after awhile. My Apologies TH-camrs...my inner troll wanted to play devils advocate and took over for a moment...i shall flog him repeatedly with nonsensical religious mysticism text till science proves some deity's idea of reality is more right than what we actually perceive and understand...for the record, agnostic
You managed to move me into tears... Nothing I wouldn't have heard or read before but with all this navel-gazing claptrap humanity seems preoccupied with, it's consoling to know that there are people thinking like this and with that rides our hopes for the future and making it a better place for us and the other species coexisting with us. Thank you.
Exceptional video denoting just how things should be. Unfortunately there are people on this planet who's short-sightedness and hate will denounce and or ignore your attempt at educating them. There are however some people who are listening to you and I am one of them. I hope that there are many more to come. The way forward is the think, not just bury your head in the sand and cling to the past.
You sir are amazing. The way you put something so unmeasurable into the grasp of are simple brains I salute you. You definitely took a page from yoda on how to describe are existence.
Thank You HelloGreedo! You're speech is an open mind. We're lucky, soo lucky. And the universe is so wide. Now, I hope, everiday we will look the sky with this thinking. :J
When you started to talk about how we could be the only life in the galaxy, my breathing started getting heavy and my heart started pumping rapidly... Just the thought of us being alone in this vast universe is terrible, to think how lonely we could be! Anyway amazing video :).
Perhaps the first time a Stormtrooper has hit the bullseye. Nice video.
The first time stormtrooper hit anything
This is some deep shit for a Stormtrooper...
True
Yeah I thought they were just bad shots who knew
Connor Chambers !
Jeffery Lebowski Are you still pissed off about your rug?
Yeah? Well, that's just like.. your opinion, man...
Obi-Wan: These aren't the droids you're looking for. He may go about his business.
Stormtrooper: You can go about your business.
Obi-Wan: You want to go home and ponder the scale of the universe and meaning of life.
*Stormtrooper walks off*
+superhamzah85 Maybe that guy who tried to sells drugs to Obi-Wan in Ep II did just that when Kenobi said "Go home and rethink your life" hahaha
+Darth Revan yah wanna buy some deathsticks?
+GlitteringToothpaste you don't wanna sell me deathsticks
Vivace I don't wanna sell you deathsticks
GlitteringToothpaste
you should go home and rethink your life

Every time i come back to this video, i shed some tears, it makes me revaluate my decisions.
Most beautiful thing ever, thank you Greedo.
holy shit, i wasn't ready for something this deep when i clicked on this
I actually sorta got choked up watching this
I come back to this video every few years when I'm having a down day/week/whatever just to remind myself that the universe is still full of joys and wonders and that our existence in it is still really goddamn cool.
Still my favorite piece of yours and I'm glad you made it.
Thanks, Chris. Still one of my favorites.

+Michelle Lehto Because Hearthstone, why not
Although I admit that I clicked on this video expecting it to be a comedy sketch of some sort, I must say I was pleasantly surprised by the rather different content that you presented. It was certainly moving and thought provoking. And very interesting.
That's deep for a storm trooper.
"Aren't you a little deep for a stormtrooper?" :P
All stormtroopers are still people.
They're better philosophers than they are marksmen.
2009Bandman They shall wipe out the Rebellion with one swift philosophy!
This channel is turning into the greatest thing ever.
Best thing I have ever seen on youtube.
I almost cried at how beautiful this is. I know you drew a lot of inspiration from both incarnations of COSMOS, but I find this video to be one of the best I've ever seen on TH-cam. Thank you so much, HG, for making this.
One of my favorite videos of all time. Thank you for this.
A great and inspiring video from my favorite stormtrooper. May the Force be with you, always.
I've always been a huge astrophysics nerd and a huuuuge Star Wars geek. The fact that the two were just brought together makes me so beyond happy :')
Was waiting whole video for you to say: "And as a storm trooper, it is our job capture it all."
This was fucking beautiful.
Well done, mate. Well done...
I think this was one of your best videos yet. You've said before about how you would like to make an educational space video and I think you hit it out of the park. I don't think Vsauce could have done it better.
This was a very calming and somewhat philosophical video. Nice work putting it together HelloGreedo!
Absolutely brilliant man. Your videos just keep getting better and better. Keep doing what you do.
Damn, you've been busy! This was absolutely fantastic, best thing I've seen in weeks, perhaps even months. same... very much the same.
Without a doubt, your best video to date. Well done, sir.
Great vid!
Man, what an incredible video this is. Keep coming back to this whenever I feel down ... do not know why. "Humbling" (as you states in the clip) may be the reason.

to me this is one of the most important videos ever made... it really shows how beautiful the universe truly is and how important we really are
This video was awesome, educational, moving, puts things into proportion without it sounding scary (as a lot of scientists talkin about the same subject do) and really suits your voice (not kidding you have a great voice for talking) not just a great video for your channel but a great video for the entirety of youtube, thank you for sharing your knowledge with us!
Wow.. That was way deeper than I expected a "Star Wars channel" to go. It was awe inspiring, comforting and uplifting. I loved it, thank you.
Almost 3 years later and this is still my favorite video on the internet.
Faced with the imponderable vastness of the universe, I don't feel small. Not at all. No Human can ever be 'small' in the way we're talking about if they have a goal and people they care for/care for them.

The Stormtrooper's Cosmos show. Beautiful. Touching. Humbling. Thank you Carl Sagan for inspiring the next generations!
My feels, man, my feels...

Man... This was a great video. Would love to see you do documentaries. I've seen a lot of documentaries but your video touched me so much. Thank you!
That was beautiful man. Came for the Star Wars, stayed for the stars :)
This was beautiful. Your appreciation for our universe is amazing and it inspires.
*Claps hands uncontrollably* fantastic.
That was some Vsauce shit right there...
This video was exactly what I needed. Thank you. Please never stop making videos. Thank you thank you thank you.
I already knew all this but you really breathed new life into the information. Well done.
It's cool that you got to do this. You said you wanted to in a Q&A once, and i was hoping it would happen eventually. This is really cool!
Without a doubt your most epic video EVER.
Loves every minute. Thanks Hello greedo
Thanks for making me spend the rest of my day watching astronomy videos
Is it Christmas three videos in one day.
I know right?
It's like Life Day all over again!
Wow this has to be one of my favorite things I have ever heard. seriously, no joke. U really put everything in perspective.
Wow. I was genuinely moved by this. Thank you.
You should do a ton more of these science videos. They are quite entertaining and educational!
Wow Greedo, fantastic work. Thanks very much for providing your insight. Definitely one of my favorite TH-cam videos I've ever watched. Keep up the good work and may the force be with you.

Great video by the way.
+Justin Dunn there is also warp drive. also you don't have to move through the universe if you had a way of moving the universe around you
+Justin Dunn What about an alcubierre drive, which would warp space-time around it to travel to distant objects relatively quickly?
+Justin Dunn it would take longer to find a wormhole and make it large enough to fit through than it would to actually go to your destination with a regular spaceship
+TX Treazon I think he is talking about the FTL in Halo which opens a wormhole and somehow takes you to the desired coordinates
May the force be with you.. Always
I learned WAY more facts from this than I would from school. Nice work on keeping things simple to follow and making it interesting, Greedo!
Oh my god HelloGreedo. . . One of the best videos I've seen on TH-cam in long time. I'm now going outside to look up for a bit.
A very nice surprise. Very beautiful. Actually made me tear up a bit.
Become a science channel. Star Wars and science, oh god that would be amazing.
+electrocat1 I have a few other videos in the science camp! Check them out!
+HelloGreedo I've watched them, but this one was just beyond amazing!
+electrocat1 Thanks, man! I really enjoyed doing this one :)
+HelloGreedo I agree with the other guy. I loved the video, and will share it with my friends. You nailed it, good job!
+HelloGreedo I love this video. It combines two things that I love, Star Wars, and science
You have motivated me man, keep the videos coming please. I think I just learned more watching this video than going any school or any university can try to teach me
Damn Stormtroopers are pretty wise
i never head it put so well in such a short amount of time. thanks you.
This video is beautiful. It has inspired me to change my perspective of my place in the Universe. Earned a sub. Amazing channel :)
I really really hope that as an old man I'll be able to go into space at least once, beautiful video man, your channel is so underrated
This is one of my favorite videos dude. I love all your videos but you should definitely through in a couple of episodes of this once in a while! Reminds me of the show Cosmos, with the star destroyer like the ship of the imagination. Keep up the good work!
Very moving. Thanks so much for posting!
Thanks for all the wonderful videos you uploaded today!
That was beatiful, touching and inspiring. Thank you
Why do I get the feeling that this vid could stop wars?
+Ryan Baum That feeling is the devil trying to convince you to sin so god wont take you into his special place after death so you have all the things you always wanted as long as they are not sinful...or fun...or interesting after awhile.

I tease. I really liked this video.
I've been looking for a video like this for a long I would never think I would have found it here
This is why i love this channel 😢
+HelloGreedo that was so beautiful and touching it made me really happy
You sir are amazing. The way you put something so unmeasurable into the grasp of are simple brains I salute you. You definitely took a page from yoda on how to describe are existence.
As a Star Wars fan who has always loved astronomy, this is gold.
Been following you for a while and never watched this video before. Fantastic, best video I've seen on you tube
It's the most amazing Video i've ever seen! Thanks HelloGreedo for being awesome.

The Universe...
A long time ago in a galaxy far far away...
The mind boggles...
Amazing video my friend! One of the best I've ever seen on TH-cam
U brought tears to my eyes
This video was very well put together. Excellent work Greedo!

this is my type of video. i like the real stuff along with the space opera stuff
I haven't cried this much in a long time. WELL DONE, SIR. +1 AWESOMENESS
Best video ive seen in a while. Much to learn,we have.
This is the best video I've ever watched. You are incredible
If there is an abundance in life in the universe, there has got to be at LEAST one galaxy that has a Star Wars like scenario.
At least we'll probably be advanced enough to take them on and know all the weaknesses that their super weapons have
Space and the stars may be my favourite natural phenomena. There’s a real beauty and a humbling factor to just staring up at night.
