SILDAJAZZ: Stjerneskuddet fra Os i Bergen snakker blant annet om sin kjærlighet for insekter, da vi møtte henne før torsdagens konsert.
20-åringen forteller om sin nervøsitet for rød løper.
- Det gjør meg veldig nervøs å gå mens jeg blir iakttatt, forteller Aurora.

I was startled to hear that her armpit hair was a subject for conversation. I thought we had collectively gotten past that silliness now. :p Anyhow, having just discovered Aurora a couple of months ago, I am reveling in all the interviews I find here on TH-cam, both past and present. Everything she says...and sings...resonates.
Armpit hair matters in society, like shaving your face, or getting haircuts, or tweezing eyebrows. What shouldn't be a surprise is that she is a hippie, and they intentionally go against society
@@micah0kilgallin Well, yes - any amount of superficial nonsense has always "mattered" in society. But that changes continually. I had thought that the ridiculous notion that women should make their armpits and legs hairless had shifted by now. Yes, I realize that some people, female and male, want everything expect their head to be hairless. :D
I agree that it shouldn’t be a topic of conversation in the respect that it “matters,” but society as a whole will always notice individuals who live life against the grain. To me, the hope is that even if these differences are noticed, it is seen as just another piece of someone’s expression of oneself and embraced, rather than seen as wrong or subversive. Aurora lives free and is and is an inspiration to so many others to follow in her path. I think it helps to have these things noticed (NOT criticized, just given acknowledgement and/or talked about) because it helps people who are similar that feel they don’t fit in. Those souls need representation and someone to connect with. Aurora gives this to those lucky enough to know of her.

I like her so much. At 0:30 when she´s saying her name, adorable. She´s still a bit like a girl and looks so cute and vulnerable but she is so strong and brave and fights her fears and faces the challenges. It is admirable. I hope she loses all her fears and moves on and becomes a very happy person. She has deserved it.

her name reads like A-hwul-a , doesn't it
R in bergensk (her dialect/language) is all the way back in the throat. It sounds kind of like trying not to swallow a fly that just flew down your throat. I like it, it sounds very soft and laid back.
Here's how I'd translate the weird Norwegian sounds of her name to English
A = like A in "bAd"
U = like OU in "yOU"
R = like swallowing a fly
O = like OO in "OOh"
R = like swallowing another fly
A = like A in "Ah"

I lived in Haugesund this time, and I was probably at the pub next door when she played. I had no idea who she was at the time. Im a death/thrash metal head, but after I discovered this angel some months back, im enthralled! Holy hell, she is something special and unique. Now I hate myself for now knowing when I lived there

it makes me a little sad when people say that those who don't shave their armpits or leg hair are just eager to disagree with society and it is dumb because of that, when it never was that really, it's a way to express yourself or a way to feel more free. I feel like peoples expectations control me, I feel like for the longest time i haven't actually lived freely out of fear.

I agree, and also in my case it's literally just because the hair doesn't really bother me, and I think it's just a normal thing. I only shave a bit when it gets too long in the summer because of hygiene, but I think it's funny that people think it's just "eagerness to disagree with society" when really, to some of us it's just like the most comfortable option and that's it, it isn't rocket science. The annoying thing is how society puts soooo much focus on something as small as some hairs when we have much bigger, more trascendental issues to deal with out there. People literally waist their time just to criticize others personal decisions on their appearance...I mean if you think of it, it's something so pathetic and speaks of how superficial and judgemental some human beings can be. And about feeling that you don't live freely, and that you're still scared of others expectations, I'm right there with ya...it isn't easy, Aurora has that magical thing to her which makes her be more natural and authentic to her true nature then everyone else, but for most of us, it's something that requires a larger amount of inner work, particularly about facing fears, traumas, and the amount of importance we give to what other people expect of us. Sometimes I really wish I could just wake up and be free like the wind, but I know it isn't that simple, and because of that I've been trying my hardest to work on facing myself with all my shadows and difficulties, step by step. I know who I want to be, or better to say: who I am, now I just have to get there. I know it'll be hard but I feel it will definitely be rewarding.
I don't mind people who have it but I usually shave it because I am outside almost all day everyday. I am less likely to have ticks at the end of the day because they have less to hold on to. They are also easier to find without hair. Otherwise I wouldn't take the time to shave it. But I find ticks more annoying than shaving.
Exactly. I've always felt exactly like Aurora about shaving, it's just boring and time-consuming and makes you to look yourself in the negative light. And indeed I feel the armpit hair is there for a purpose. It prevents your armpits from getting sensitive sking when you're sweating, and it also helps to absorb the sweat, instead of it running down your sides on a hot day. I'm also quite fond on how my armpit hair looks, makes me feel closer to my real self.
All this said, I can't express how much it irritates me when people will label you as an feminist activist or something solely because you have the armpit hair. My hair is not a statement, it's just how I am -_-

I wanted to keep Aurora to myself. I've known her and listened to her for a couple years now. Was honestly disappointed when her songs was put in tiktok as I'm one of the people who avoids the app as a whole since most of the bad influence are in there. Now I rarely listen to her and focus on other singers or bands that people aren't discovering yet. I'm happy she got recognition but ehh.. Idk why I'm sad at the same time.
Anyway, congratulations Aurora for the success. May you be blessed more in life. I've loved you for as long as I've known you. I will still listen to you of course but not as much anymore.
