Her husband Derrick Trucks in my opinion is one of the greatest slide guitar players.. he also played with the Allman Brothers

To show you hes a true prodigy, Derrick Trucks was only 20 years old when he became the official replacement for Duane Allman in the Allman brothers band. And that was after playing with them on the road on and off for almost 5 years... he's one of the few people who I have seen be on the same stage as Warren Haynes and cause a debate on who's better.
That song, Derek's guitar work and her voice just take me to heaven....listen to it almost every night right before I crash...makes for a relaxing beautiful way to close out the day!

I was blessed to see them on Sea Island, Saint Simon's Island, Georgia a few years ago right by the ocean. The concert was beyond incredible!

Derek Truck's uncle played drums for the Allman Brothers. Susan Tedeschi is his wife - she is a graduate of the prestigious Berklee School of Music in Boston. She has a great voice and he is an amzaing guitar player. You would love Make Someone Happy when they play with Santana.
TTB is one of those bands that should be a household name. When you know you know but far too many people haven't heard of them.
I'm usually not one to have a celebrity crush but, I have a mad crush on Susan Tedeschi. Here's the strange part. I love the look on her face when she looks at her husband Derek Trucks plays. Look at the video of them playing the Eric Clapton song Any Day at The Cross Roads Festival and you will see what I mean. She's in love.

Thanks for the info. Didn't know it was Mattison's song. I was a big fan of the old Derek trucks Band - before he met Susan. Mike Mattison did most of the heavy lifting on vocals for the band. Beautiful voice
Derrick Trucks guitar and Oteil Burbridge Bass are special players. Very Special. They were the heart and soul of the Allman Brothers for last 20 years.

Love this song and this band! Derek and Susan are the best band still touring today in my opinion. Derek is probably the finest slide player today. And he learned only from the best, Dickey Betts. His uncle, Butch Trucks, was the drummer for the Allman Bros and gave him his intro into music.
She is married to the guitar player, Derek Trucks who was in The Allman Brothers Band. He is an amazing slide guitarist. He is Butch Trucks nephew, the white drummer in The Allman Brothers Band. Side note, the black drummer in The Allman Brothers Band used to play for Otis Redding. The bass player in this video played in The Allman Brothers Band as well. He played with Derek in The Dereck Trucks Band.
Love both of them. The guitarist and the singer are married. Make wonderful music together.
They are one of those bands you MUST see live if ever given the chance! Susan sounds like an Angel, Derek sometimes just closes his eyes and jams, unbelievable. So glad the music gods put these two together❤

Anyway my kids took me to the Chicago Theater to see Tedeschi Trucks. Twelve people on stage, backup singers were award winners, musicianship out of this world. Great concert.

Derek Trucks has one of the sweetest most identifiable sounds with that guitar. I saw the Derek Trucks band back n the day before he was with Susan. Gotta see them live soon hopefully.
The guitar player (Derek Trucks) is the nephew of Butch Trucks (drummer) from the Allman Brothers Band. Grew up around Duane Allman and Dickie Betts as well as Warren Haynes. May Butch RIP. His legacy lives on in this wonderful family of musicians...

Never seen a video with Derek Trucks where he didn't out shine whoever else was on stage with him. She's incredible and he's played with a lot of legendary guitarists, but I've never heard anyone do it better than him.
Derek Trucks was a guitar protege. He was sitting in with the Allman Brothers Band at the age of 9. In 2011, Rolling Stone Magazine put him as 16th on the list of Greatest Guitarists of all time. At the time Derek was 32 years old.

If anyone don't like this music, then they don't like music at all. Susan has that raspy, bluesy, soulful sound and Derek is simply the best slide guitarist in today's world. The rest of the the band is also phenomenal
I saw Derek several times playing with the ABB and others in the early nineties. He really was just a kid. I hope he's happy and healthy.
The star of this band, and the unchallenged leader of The Tedeschi Trucks Band.....is Derek Trucks. The Phenom. He has the pedigree. His uncle Butch was a Allman Brothers drummer. Derek was in The Allman Brothers Band for 15 years. He is the soul of the TTB, and made The ABB relavent again as soon as he joined the band. The slide virtuoso. His style and tone are unmistakable and completely unique to any other guitar player alive. I think Derek Trucks with a slide on his finger, is the best guitar player on earth.
The “E-Town” Live Version is the best I’ve heard…and I’ve listened to as many as I could.
My wife and I saw them at Red Rocks on our Honeymoon and they are better than you can imagine. Derek is probably the greatest guitarist living today and the Burbank Brothers On Bass and keyboards man! Not to mention Mike on back up vocals! 😎

Derrick Trucks is Duane and Gregg Allmans nephew. His daddy was Butch Trucks the drummer of the Allman Brothers and a founding member. Love Susan’s voice! I wish that they would come to the Amphitheater by my house again but they may be too big for that now. Beautiful song.

I agree with Rick Baltimore. I saw Derrick at the Satellite Lounge in Houston TX when he was 16. He was with a 3pc band, barefooted and solo on guitar. AMAZING he was-eth!

I love this version of this song. This is one of those songs that can make the whole world feel good. This is what music is supposed to do and that is to touch the hearts of all listening. The guitar solo can make you cry all kinds of tears. One of the greatest musical performances I have ever heard...and I have heard billions!!!
There’s a video of Derek Trucks with BB King where BB tells him to play a solo. After the solo BB tells him it’s one of the best solos he’s heard. You can see the jealousy in John Mayer’s face. Lol.
Was going to bring this one up. For BB King to give that kind of praise to you, you know you’re good, but Derek is very humble.

Them doing Angel from Montgomery/Sugaree... that's another that just goes. Features a great flute and great percussion and of course a Derek solo. Great live performance.

Tedeschi Trucks Band is the best modern blues ensemble out there today! Derreck is the second coming of Duane Allman plus he has his roots in The Allman Brothers band. His uncle was Butch Trucks of The Allman Brothers Band and plus he was a member of The Allman Brother's band at one time. He was a prodigy at a very young age. Keep this band on your radar! Everything they do is just awesome!

This concert was the Crossroads Guitar Festival in Chicago in 2010 at the Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Illinois on June 26, 2010 before at least 28,000 fans. The Festival put on by legendary blues guitarist Eric Clapton, goes to support the Crossroads Rehab Center in Antigua.

Jamel - The bassist in this band (Oteil Burbridge) was the last and final bassist in the Allman Brothers Band before they called it quits in 2014. He's played in quite a few other big bands.
Also, Trucks (slide guitarist) -- his uncle was Butch Trucks, one of the two original drummers for the Allman Brothers. Derek joined when he was very young.

Derek Trucks (blond ponytail on the red Gibson SG) is one of the most compelling players around these days. His uncle (Butch) was the long time drummer for The Allman Brothers - Duane Allman played on Eric Clapton's band Derek And The Domino's 'Layla' LP, one of the single greatest Rock albums ever made - Trucks was named after Eric's fictitious band leader name, Derek. Derek toured with The Allman Brothers for years and then toured with Clapton himself. After he and Susan Tedeschi jammed, they eventually got married and today record and tour as The Tedeschi Trucks Band.
What you need to listen to is their rendition of Clapton's (Derek And The Domino's) 'Anyday' that they perform at Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival . . . beautiful ~

She & her husband, the guitarist Derek Trucks, had their own bands touring & they got tired of being apart so they merged together. Great idea. Beautiful music. His uncle was the drummer for the great Allman Bros band. I've seen videos of him playing on stage with them at 12 years old & he could blow you away. All the greats have played music with him. Bo Diddly & BB King to Eric Clapton. He's considered one of the very best anywhere.
My favorite song of theirs - the guy in the black t-shirt in the back wrote it. Kofi, the artist playing the organ has passed away from heart problems RIP.

Kofi Burbridge on the organ passed away in 2019 (Hear attack from a previous heart surgery), the bass player Oteil Burbridge is now with Dead and company (A resurrected Greatful Dead band with John Mayer filling the void left by the passing of Jerry Garcia in 1995). This is my favorite tune by the TTB band, it was written by backup vocalist Mike Madison. Got to see them live in Virginia Beach, 2017.The band began as a fusion between Susan Tedeschi's band and Derek Trucks in 2010. A large band with a horn section, 2 drummers, an organ player, a bass player, a lead guitar, a rhythm guitar and a few backup vocalists. Nice reaction, TY. I am not an expert in any musical instrument, but I love to watch Derek Trucks play slide and I love Susan's voice. The band is currently touring
