This is beautiful and I am very excited to let you know that what your community is doing, the same things were done in my community even using what you have in the granary to buy meat we call it butter trade I loved it coz families used to plant a lot of food no body slept hungry, and what you're calling spinach is sagheti or saga you can Google it and you will see it is the same thing if am not wrong most of the bantu communities eat it and am one of them. Civilization comes and things change for better or worse.

For us Vambos that didn't grow up in the North, this is so educational. Often people just expect you to know everything but they don't take into account that you grew in a completely different environment.

Okuhelela Is cultivating basically removing unwanted weed that grows among the wanted crops
Thinning is okuvudha. Thinning is spacing crops. When you put too many seeds in one patch and it sprouts too cluttered together you uproot some with your hands so they have enough space to grow.
Eefukwa in English is called:
Bambara Beans
What we call beans are called black eyed peas in the West. I came across the on Pinterest the other day. Eefukwa are Bambara nuts.
