that is super creepy that they didn't tear that house down. they changed the name of the entire town, but left the main reminder of the horror standing? weird.
Horrible as it was and they want to erase the memory, but not the money that morbid people spent in that town to SEE the horror. I mean apparently they advertise the event with newspaper clippings somewhere there, I saw. Good for the social economy I'm sure .
@Binal Trogaci well they tore down Jeffrey Dahmer's apartment building. It's now a vacant lot. Typically, when there is a gruesome travesty, buildings are done away with. io9.gizmodo.com/what-happened-to-these-notorious-crime-scenes-1676536858
Thought you were going a bit macabre on us, but you mixed in some Disneyland and nice balance. Gonna miss your visits to Disneyland when you hit the road. But looking forward to the unknown!
I live about a mile from that house. I didn't know about it. After your vlog I watched the Changeling. Very creepy. I found a video with a person that lives there. She seemed clueless. That house should have been demolished.
I swear, Changeling was one of the most disturbing movies I’ve ever seen. I can’t explain it. It just left me with this awful feeling. Great movie though.
I read the book from the young boy that was forced to participate in these crimes by his uncle. Poor kid. It’s amazing he turned out to be a good and decent man.
the DIAMOND ---- that is for the DIAMOND JUBLIEE - 60 years - it would not be there before the 60th year and that is why you didn't notice it - love this mish mash vlog
Love you and your videos man. I am disabled with a slipped disc and my sciatica nerve is so bad I can’t walk much. But I’ve always wanted to travel. So I live thru you. God bless you for all you do brother.
The chicken coop murder house was talked about briefly in an episode of American Horror Story Hotel. The maids son was one of the kids kidnapped and killed.
I have an AP to DW. I live in the top of Florida so getting there is 7 hours with a time zone change. I absolutely love the idea of just being able to drop in for dinner, and a few rides. Your life is so interesting! Keep the videos coming!
A Naval Orange has what look like a human naval on the opposite end from the stem and they are seedless. Born and raised in Riverside Ca. and proud of it!
you didn't see the diamond because it was just put there for disneys 60 yr anniversary, diamond is anniversary gift for being married for 60 yrs......or celebrating 60 yrs ...like diamond jubilee celebration.....
one thing about it when the ride stops it gives people more time to actually look and take their time at seeing the intricate work and art of the pieces because sometimes the rides go too fast you can't see everything and take it in so when it stops or slows down you can take in more of the scenery
On February 8, 1929, an all-male jury convicted Northcott for the first-degree murders of the Winslow brothers and an anonymous victim. Judge George R. Freeman sentenced him to death. Although he was convicted and sentenced to death, the families of his victims didn’t have closure due to the inability to find intact bodies. Northcott was hanged on October 2, 1930. Shortly after his execution, the Wineville Chicken Coop murders were finally put to rest after the citizens decided to change the town’s name. They changed it to Mira Loma, which means “view from the hill” in Spanish. This name change helped the town to disassociate from the horrific acts on that poultry farm. The horrors of the Wineville Chicken Coop Murders were introduced again in 2008 when the Clint Eastwood film The Changeling was released. The story reflects Christine Collins’ attempts to recover her son, Walter. The Changeling showed Christine Collins’ perseverance to overcome the unjust law enforcement system and to learn the truth about her son.
Last time I was in LA I just had to drive by this place. I hope it will never be forgotten. I even filmed the house while doing it. There is something about this case that I can't let go of.
The chicken coop killer was discovered because one kid escaped from the coops. American Horror story references the chicken coop killer in Hotel. The maids son was killed by the chicken coop killer. 😊❤ I'm loving your vlogs so much!!!!!
The diamond under Mickey wouldn't have been there before the start of the 60th year festivities I would think, but not 100% sure of that. Another great and informative vlog :-)
My niece lives close by the Chicken Coop house. Have you seen the movie The Changeling? ( Directed by Clint Eastwood. With Angelina Jolie) Part of that movie was filmed in the old town part of San Dimas. I knew a guy that was working with Edison at the time of the filming and had to alter the street lighting to their liking during filming. The movie is based on the chicken coup murders. Did you deliver the couch? Lol!! Oh and just a thought but look into The Norconian located not far from Mira Loma in Norco Ca.. (Horse capital). Don't really know if you could even access it or not but do know that recently the city got a grant to pay for more clean-up and repair to aid in preventing any further damage from roof leaks etc... There is a military base deal near along with a small prison and the guards/military that I guess watch over the place. Allot of history along with allot of famous people way back in the day stayed there. There is a lake (Still exists) and there was an air strip way back in the day that celebrities used to visit The Norconian. It is as of (I think) two years ago marked as a historic. The place is different but very much like The Mission Inn. It had at one point been used to house injured military then later used as part of the prison for rehabilitation but shuttered it due to the structure no longer being safe.
OMYGOSH You're in my town!! I asked a while back but it probably got buried under a million comments if youve ever visited the catacombs under the Mission Inn?Not for from where you were standing
Hey Adam, invest in a water purifier bottle. It would save you money in the long run and also space. All that plastic from water bottles is horrible on the environment.
"A navel orange is a special type of orange which has a little surprise inside once it is peeled: a partially formed undeveloped fruit like a conjoined twin, located at the blossom end of the fruit. From the outside, the blossom end is reminiscent of a human navel, leading to the fruit's common name. Because the navel orange is seedless, it can only be propagated through cuttings. Technically, every one of these oranges comes from the same orange tree; the Brazilian orange which generated a spontaneous mutation hundreds of years ago." ** The more you know**
Wow! Crazy story! I finally remembered why watching you is so much fun--its like watching an old cable show from NJ called the "Uncle Floyd Show" with a little bit of Truman in it. Have a nice weekend!
I'm gonna miss the Disneyland bands that you so graciously let us listen to. How cool is it to run over to Disneyland for dinner? thanks again for all you do.
We used to visit Galleano Winery and never knew we were 5 minutes from the Chicken Coop Murder House. I did a quick stop over to check it out and was creeper out as well. Apparently some of the former owners had no idea of the history. Not sure how far back a realtor needs to disclose info on.
You're looking Well... Thanks for showing Us the original Navel tree. Didn't know that.. Navels are supposed to be seedless... When I was growing up in Garden Grove, O.C., there was a small Naval orange grove at the end of our block We use to play in. The owner/framer said that We could take as much as We wanted. That was the good ol' days. ; D
Ok, Adam, the thing that really stunned, creeped me out and generally blew my good mood was this: PEOPLE ARE **LIVING THERE** in that house of horror!! I mean, yes, maybe they were buried in the coops, but do we KNOW he didn’t kill them in that house?! Knowing what I know of people like that, it is highly likely he killed in the house and then dispose outside. BEYOND creepy!
Went to WDW once on July 4, 1985.... two things happened... first... we rode the Small World.... got stuck for an hour.... and the music looped the entire time....like this.... "'It's a Small Wor.... It's a Small Wor.... It's a Small Wor.... for the entire hour.... if I *EVER* hear that song again I will scream!!!! Second thing.... because it was the Fourth of July... the fireworks that night were double... and they shot some off from an island in the middle of the lake or lagoon near the entrance..... the entire little island caught fire... it was on the news that night after we got home! NEVER go to Disney World on the Fourth of July... the shortest line to ride a ride was two hours for the Pirates..... i was miserable with the heat... drank water all day, and never even had to go to the bathroom once.... I was kinda sick for the next few days... so my one Disney experience was horrible.... but then again.... I was on my honeymoon, and he turned out to be horrible as well.... maybe Micky Mouse was trying to tell me something!!!!
same with every apple you eat, they are all from the exact same tree because you will never find 2 tree's with the same apples. they are all cuttings/grafts from the same original tree and stuck on the bases of other tree's. if you ever see a wild apple tree, always try the apples as it could be a billion dollar apple tree. never take the seed, take a cutting.
I find it odd that Adam visits places I have visited. I research obscure places that are off the beaten path and go to them to see for myself what is left to see. I have only covered California to Texas, but that is enough for a lifetime. Adam is doing the rest of the country. I am a little jealous.
Adam, I wanted to tell you the story of the acid bath murder house in Paramount, CA. I grew up there and during the 1960's a biker named I think "Spide Savage" was murdered in this house in Paramount CA. The local news paper "The Paramount Journal" carried the story. two Guys their name lost in time murdered Spide in the house and then dissolved his body with 'battery acid in the Bath tub. The year was 1967 or 1968. The location was in the area that is just north of Rosecrans Blvd, west of Downey Ave, east of Anderson St. the street was ether Ackley St. or Elburg St. most likely Elburg St. because I went to school with a guy named James that lived on the corner of Elburg and Downey address may have been 8422 Elburg
Interesting fact about it’s a small world ride. Walt Disney had a rule that music on that ride or any rides to always be playing. Reason in case a child got away from their parent and ran into that building the magic wouldn’t be ruined. Music and animatronics at Disneyland had to be playing at all times.
Hi Adam, I hope you are doing good. I’ve been taking advantage of the lockdown by catching up on some of your archived videos. Good stuff man. Take care, and thanks for the entertainment. You can always count on me for a thumbs up. 👍🏻

that is super creepy that they didn't tear that house down. they changed the name of the entire town, but left the main reminder of the horror standing? weird.
yea sure, but who would be happy living there?
at least it's not a child care center... or a toy store

That is odd to change the name of the town. The house is obviously occupied, I personally could never live in a place with that kind of history.
I wonder if the people who live in the house know about its horrible history?
@Binal Trogaci well they tore down Jeffrey Dahmer's apartment building. It's now a vacant lot. Typically, when there is a gruesome travesty, buildings are done away with.

Thumbs up if you like the mix of emotions and locations each vlog has. I try to hit a range of spots in one day
i like it. changing up the format of tdw was a great idea. it will be perfect for when you hit the road again, too.
You ought to head up to Ferndale and drive the California Lost Coast sometime. Gorgeous, plus a lot of Movie Locations around there.
Variety is the spice of life,.....I give thumbs up.
Thought you were going a bit macabre on us, but you mixed in some Disneyland and nice balance. Gonna miss your visits to Disneyland when you hit the road. But looking forward to the unknown!

There is a movie called Changeling that is somewhat about the chicken coop murders.
great movie with George Scott
@@paultynan8705 that was a different Changeling movie that was made in 1979. It's about a haunted Seattle mansion.

That is from the navel orange tree, not the chicken coops

Surely it must be creepy living in that house. In any case, this hat grab was the funniest one so far. Also, the ending was quite amusing.
a little bit country a little bit FREEK ASSED CREEPY and what those chickens saw would most likely bring tears to your eyes

hi Adam, do you have any plans to do any abandoned videos with exploringwithjosh in the future?
yes lots. In time, in time
