What you can also do is mix in the clean DI or add an acoustic guitar to add more clarity to the guitar sound.

ML Sound Lab is legendary. All of their amp sims are great, but Roots is my favorite. Their IRs are great, but get some Ownhammer IRs to go with the sims and you just can't beat it IMO, and they aren't very CPU intensive compared to some sims.
Ownhammer? I haven’t heard of those before, I’ll definitely check some out. Any particular pack that you would recommend? I
Sometimes pair the ML amps with the oversized Cali IRs from GGD, but I’m excited to try out something new! Thank you!
Plugin is based around a newer 5150.... always gonna be all the gain!

Awesome! I'm going to give this a try in a bit. I've been struggling with the OOTB GarageBand amps to get a good pop punk sound like this. Just changed out my stock pickups with some Seymour Duncans trying to rule out any possible issues with my equipment. Love all your videos! Super helpful.
Thank you for saying!! Yeah good move! Replacing my stock pick ups with EMGs was a big move. If you can make sure your guitar recordings are dead in tune you’ll be alright. Have you seen the Toneforge Disrupter by JST? It’s on the expensive side so I haven’t tried it yet, but it has this feature that will match your DI to top quality guitars. I’m waiting quietly for it to go on sale!

Nice job! Tone reminds me of Strung Out’s Suburban Teenage Wasteland Blues album. Not sure what they used back then, but predates EVH 5153 for sure.

Thanks so much! Have you seen the free sansamp pedal from TSE audio? It’s called BOD and it’s so good! It’s only the pedal, so you’ll need a cabinet sim to pair with it which you can find for free too.

Thank you 🙏🏻 I had to go back down my project to find which snare it was! So it turns out it’s actually from Drumforge and it’s a blend of ‘snare 11’ and ‘snare 23’. Snare 11 I believe is a Ludwig Supraphonic LM400 and Snare 23 is a Ludwig Jazz Festival ‘60. And I pretty much had the blend at 50/50. Mix wise there’s some compression - CLA 76 from Waves, 4:1 ratio with slowest attack, fastest release. There’s a small cut at around 500hz and at 4khz. Finished off with some slight clipping.

i started a band with my friend and we are both broke teenagers trying to make something out of bad cheap equipment.. so ive been looking for something like this.

@@TheCrimsonGhost677 Oh I’ll check it out! What’s the name? Best advice I was ever given was to pay way more attention to the instrument and performer than the gear. If your guitars are super in tune and intonated then that’s like 80% of the battle.

I don’t think so, I think I remember it coming with a cab sim and it was pretty decent. My
Favourite cab sim is the oversized Cali from GGD but I think that’s around $30-50. You can get so many good cheap ones, like ownhammer and the conquer all packs from JST. If you buy the plugin it comes with Fluffs cab sim too which is pretty cool!
Hey How did you get it to work in stereo?
The guitars are double tracked. But I will have panned them 100% left and 100% right, bounced them down into 1 stereo file and run that through a dual mono instance of the plugin. For some reason the ML Sound Labs plugins in logic need to be run in dual mono where as most other amp sims you can load up a stereo instance.

YOU CANT RECORD WITH THIS. ITS THE DEMO VERSION. IT KEEPS MUTING ITSELF EVERY 5 SECONDS SO ITS UNUSABLE
