Agreed! No need for the stupid music in the background. Also, switches from one clip to another far to quickly, doesn't give you chance to absorb the initial clip
For me, ‘I’m Alan Partridge’ is only rivalled by ‘The Office’ for pure writing genius. Every single line of dialogue is near flawlessly written and read by all the cast. Coogan, for all his flaws, is a genius.
I know your comment was a whole eleven years ago but I just wanted to congratulate you on your excellent choice in music, assuming that's what your username refers to.
in that case you've invalidated the warranty!! LOL smell my cheese you mother! I got cheese! move and fire!! LOL Classic!!! gotta love this guy he's so funny!
Some great moments, 2 which you missed imo The one where he wants to watch a james bond marathon and goes to lynn mothers grave it went something like - "first we go see an evil genius in their underground layer, then we get home and watch Dr No" and "how do we spell london? S-h-i-t-h-o-l-e .... shithole"
Father Ted still is feckin funny! :-D Yeah you are probably right that this compilation doesn't proove him right. I saw one episode(the Dan Dan Dan Dan Dan Dan Dan!!!) one and wasn't impressed. Maybe it's cause a lot of my friends made a great hype about it and told me that i have to see this masterpiece. So my high expectations which weren't met!
The second series despite some classic moments doesnt quite reach the heights of the first. Don't write Partridge off based on one episode, give both series a watch and I promise you won't regret it. Look out for the writers of Father Ted, they make an appearance in series 1. I appreciate that some of the references might not work on foreign viewers, for example if you dont know who Bill Oddie is. And in my humble opinion Father Ted is the funniest programme of all time.
It's such a fine line that Steve, Armando, Peter and the Gibbons brothers have had to walk over the years. Alan could so easily be tipped into that place where the audience is no longer on his side. If you don't leaven the arsehole (an expression I shall be using quite a lot in future) with a little pathos, we'd just say fuck off. But if he's pushed into non-functioning total loser, he's no fun. How they've managed to make it all work in so many different ways for so long is actually unique in comedy. I bet Gervais wishes he could have done it. But I guess he needed Merchant for that.
"Right you've made two glaring errors". First of all Father Ted was niether written nor performed by anyone British it was just produced in Britain. Secondly thanks for the advice on Python, having lived under a rock my whole life I wasnt aware of them. However I do aplogise if you found the tone of my previous comment offensive. And you are lucky you havent suffered Horne and Cordon, if they ever show it in your country please don't balme us! Have you watched all of partridge or just this vid?
Legendary clips; ruined by horrible editing.
💯
Agreed! No need for the stupid music in the background. Also, switches from one clip to another far to quickly, doesn't give you chance to absorb the initial clip
This isn't in the slightest bit funny. If it wasn't for the professional editing I'd be watch Russell Howard cos he's great.
The sound is atrocious.
Allow him
Ruined by the music
This just highlights the fact that nearly every part of partridge is brilliant
what on earth was the uploader thinking of..adding dubbed music?!!..it completly ruined it.
A dosser and a dwad
@MrBipson yes at the graveyard, a classic scene.
I am a full on Yank and love, love, LOVE Partridge. Never gets old even just watching them over and over on DVD without channel UK Gold haha
Now's the time for a bit of partridge.
Not many over there would understand the humour
Did you get a region 1 dvd or do you have a multi region DVD player? I wanted to get the show on dvd but can’t find a region 1 version
Absolute Legend, one of the best characteristics ever written
The editing by the uploader made me want to use a classic Partridge-ism about cheese to him.
An unexpected but potent gust!!! 😂
Alan is one of the funniest people in comedy
The man is brilliant at what he does ))
He just keeps getting funnier every time
Three favourite sitcoms characters:
Father ted, the partridge and David Brent
In no particular order
Magic
Car 54 where are you. Is hilarious. What the episode called I won’t go.
Never ever gets old. Had me in stitches just like the first time.
Is their anything funnier than a chocolate covered Alan, looking like he's been to a scat party, then him shouting "Smell my cheese"!! 😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
No

As long as it isnt that shit US Office
@Generic_Name_33or Lord Olivier. Or Robert De Niro.
I thought the editing was rather fresh and good and exactly as Alan would have wanted to accompany his talent
'Mousse from a bowl is very nice, but to put it on a person is demented'
Great stuff, gets me through lockdown....Thank You...
Only program in the world i never get bored of watching
Did Lynn edit this? Jesus.
She couldn't edit a.... cat
Thanks lynn
She’s like Burt Reynolds. Very reliable at editing but she’s *got a moustache*

Rhetorical questions don't need an answer.
Why is there music in the background? What are you, 9?
Would have been gr8 to see him as doctor who
Or Alan Partridge is...James Bond.
Pure class.
Just the look on his face cracks me up!
2:29 the little sound he makes before he lands. Lol
Wuuh
You totally missed the best bits of the Gary Numan sketch which are the intro and the scene where he takes off his air guitar.
No one's even bothtered about the "camera man in the glass" things, because it's sooo funny
👏👏👏👏👏👏
Dan's wife is GORGEOUS...
Superb comedy!
MY FAVOURITE
The music is a callback to a previous episode. If you don't get it you can't call yourself a fan...lol
Background music was annoying
I love Alan.
Shame about the background music
Still, good news about the Chocolate Oranges.
"There's no way you big spastic" isn't allowed on TV now which is sad.

GET BACK IN THE LIFT LYNN!!
Series 1 = Alan Partridge
Series 2 = Coogan coked out of his head
@@happysappy21 Yep, I used to like them both equally but now I find series 2 almost unwatchable (relatively speaking). Series 1 remains the classic.
@@robicenco1701 series 2 is more zany, series 1 textbook
Hilarious! Gotta love Alan... But what's the backing song from around 3.30 - 6 mins? Anyone know? Sounds a bit like Gary numan
Music for Chameleons, Gary Numan
Never realised how big a leap he does over the fence. Impressive
Sam Read Its one of my fave moments 🤣

funniest stuff ever LMFAOOOO
Every line a quote, sadly it stopped being quotable once Gibbons got involved.
Love the background music adds a completely new dimension to it 🙌
@dayofthegarbage
Yes, it is Julia Deakin (Marsha) :)
Why have you got return of the Saint playing in the background?
mrnatty122 Thank you. Trying to recall that tune was bugging me. 'Return of the Saint,' with Ian Ogilvie as Simon Templar.
Song at 7:18 ?
