hi professor! just found your channel and i'm filled with joy and curiosity! i am a brazilian student of languages with an enormous amount of interest for theology. what a blessing!
Hello Professor, I'm sorry if this is out of field but I was wondering if you know about the Old South Arabian languages( Sabaic, Qatabanic, Minean, Hadhramitic) and if you could talk about them in future videos. I fell in love with these languages when I heard about them.
hi prof. wingert. are you aware of the existence of an almost complete copy of the gospels in aramaic (minus 10 pages from matthew) vatican folio #140 from edessa made under the order of the third bishop of edessa with a scibal colophon from december 15 in the 389th year of the greeks (78 ad). this was found by joseph assemani in the chaldean patriarchate in baghdad and transported to rome in the early 1700s. does this manuscript still exist? or is it in the louvre, bibliotheque nationale, french archives or lost forever because of the transfer of the vatican library to france during the napoleonic era?
Your channel is amazing! Thank you for research and scholarly knowledge, thank you for using this platform for lovers of knowledge.
Wow, thank you for the kind words!

Thank you for your kind words! One day I would like to go to Brazil (and maybe learn Portuguese).
Quick Note:-
In various dialact of neo-aramaic we use the word (ܦܘܚܐ-paokha) for the wind or air.
Haha yes... I'm singing "kha pokha d'sitwa mkheeleh, taqtooqeh l'tarra d'beta, khshoolee at ewat dirta, mleeta m'khobba o makhneta, kha pokha d'sitwa mkheeleh, taqtooqeh l'tarra d'beta, khshoolee at ewat dirta, mleeta m'khobba o makhneta..."

I don't know too much. I do have an old Sabaic grammar somewhere in my library. I'd like to learn more about them.
