I was living in and going to uni in Amsterdam at the time - and being from Canada - didnt know much about football.... yet. I remember asking an English classmate of mine if this win was a big deal. LOL. RIP Sven, you were a real gentleman.
Long live Sven-Goran Eriksson, one of the greatest managers England's ever had. Rest easy, Sven the Super Swede!
With this thrashing its just amazing how Germany always bounces back and has won 4 world cups while England has only won 1 world cup. The Germans just know how to make it happen when it really counts.
True ..England is a trash team anyway..never won anything nor reach any srmi finals nor final since euro 96 till now they've always been trash..Germany repeated itself over and over they won in 1990 beat England in euro 96 hosted by the Britts..since Germany made a strong comeback in 2002 they kept reaching the semi finals until they won in 2014 ..Legendary team 🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪
@@dennismichealsm3786 we save our best performances for World Wars.
@@thelouderyouscream world war😂? You guys were helped by Soviet Union and USA. Germany in 1945 would have most likely crushed UK in a 1 vs 1 war with no outside interference. Btw, England should clean their trophy cabinets as they maybe full of cockroaches.
@@thelouderyouscream useless when your tanks & planes have no fuel
@@palestineadesanya1996 Lol the UK have beaten Germany in 2 world wars.
I was in a pub and the roof took off. Then, 20 years later...
I can't this is how old video looks from 2001
And England had used Heskey for ten years because of this match.
Rooney said Heskey was his number 1 strike partner because he was unselfish and set up a lot of goals with his hold up play. Heskey doesn’t get the credit he deserves if you ask me. This “donkey” name he was called stunk of national supremacy. He wasn’t a bad player at all.
Tbf He and Owen complemented each other so well
MICHAEL OWEN WAS BEAST!!!
All England goals scored by Liverpool players, right!?? :D
Gerrad Owen Heskey = Liverpool mini
And assisted by United players right ?
Max Maximus:...oh yes indeeed!!! And 5-x-trophy-winning-in-one-rolling-year LIVERPOOL players at that!!! 😆😆😆 YNWA.
Al Online Kosovo:... glory-hunter, typical. well they might as well have been good for SOMETHING (Apart, that is, from the usual - being hated and loathed by quite literally ALL who didn't actually support their club!)
Al Online Kosovo Rio Ferdinand assisted Gerrard and he was a Leeds player in 2001.
Thank you Sven
RIP
This will never grow old!!
Most embarrassing thing for the Germans wasn’t the score line but the fact Heskey scored 😅😅😅
Sol Campbell pretty much muff diving into Gerrard is class🤣😂
Hahaha, glad you noticed that too.
02:15 one of the best ever goals England has scored.
SGE gave us this. Remember that today of all days. RIP Sven
Repeat of this next week
What a shot by Gerard!
You conveniently forget Owen's hat-trick.
It was classic Gerrard.
Michael Owen was probably the best striker England ever had with the possible exception of Jimmy Greaves.
This was the qualifier, all I remember was that Germany made it to the finals. I have no idea where England placed
Always some butthurt boxhead :D
A qualifier where Germany already qualified and Germany does not need to win.
@@mybitmix exactly.
@@mybitmix this isn't true btw. We had to go into the playoff against Ukraine to qualify because of Beckam's late strike against Greece. In the actual tournament we placed better, mostly due the luck of the draw, but this was still an important game.
England lost in qf to Brazil. Ronaldinho crazy free kick gave 2-1 win
