I'm an England Fan and been around for most of these goals. There are a lot for more important but I still think David Platts goal is the best (technically) . To have it coming over your shoulder, defenders around you and an acute angle. GENIUS !
In the same match Brian Moore's 'Oh No...' when Beckham was red-carded; I can still hear it now. It seemed to go on forever. Most dramatic piece of football commentary I've ever heard...and just two words.
Some great memories come flooding back with these goals, spread over many years. Wonder kid Owen, Beckham’s free kick, Platt’s technically superb effort & Gazza, leaving the lumbering Hendry on his backside.
Peter me niether i was 14 n i was like that was pure magic. Going 1 nil down to a dodgey pen. Then getting a pen 2 mins later. Owen poped up 2-1 i thought we had it. Then that sly free-kick n Becks off just turned into a nightmare
One of the goals in the 5-1 v Germany should be in the top 10 imo. Either Gerrard's great strike to make it 2-1 just before HT. Or even Heskey's goal; great play between Beckham and Scholes to open up the German midfield before Heskey's super composed finish.
Joe Coles goal was struck beautifully but for me its the least impressive one here. He was under no pressure and had all day to tee it up. I'd expect most top players to at least work the keeper from that situation but he did connect perfectly. David Platts is up there with Van Bastens volley for technical difficulty for me.
The circumstances of some of these goals needs taking into consideration. Scoring a world class goal in a tournament far exceeds a friendly, and Charlton's, Owen's and Gasgoine's mongst the best
Beckham’s goal in the Beckham vs Greece game was sublime, especially when you factor in the pressure. Yes, I did say Beckham vs Greece - I watched the game.
i think the Owen goal deserves to be at #1 based on the context, he had only just come on to the pitch, first major tournament and everybody wanted the manager to play him! Oh and a great piece of skill
Don’t know about it being one of the top 10 best England goals ever scored but Beckham’s goal against Greece was definitely one of the most important goals England ever scored
thunderchild1083 yeah... by a free kick coming from a non-existent foul. I'm half Greek - half English and will never forget that moment. England did NOT legitimately qualify for the world cup. Celebrating an equaliser at Wembley against an average team that had nothing to play for is borderline pathetic imo.
Harry Paps I wasn’t celebrating, I was just pointing out that if he hadn’t scored it we wouldn’t have qualified. Anyway even if I was celebrating it you’d do the same if it was the other way around cause it’s sounds to me like you support Greece over England, or are you gonna tell me you would rather your team missed and didn’t qualify rather than score and did?
For me the Beckham goal, which wasn’t World Cup 2001, it was a qualifiers match in 2001 for place in the 2002 World Cup. Is the one that stands out for me. I remember being young and there was so much going against David Beckham. There was the stick for the sending off against Argentina in 98. There was the whole Glen Hoddle blaming him for the exist and so on.. that when he scored it was instant redemption and euphoria.
The Owen goal is awesome but I love the Beckham free kick just perfection. The goal keeper is like WTF just happened, he just stands there and watches it bend into the net..
@@deanmadnut2614 Hundreds of shots at target. Insane levels of possession and not a sideways pass in the entire match! This was all vs a top seeded team. 🤣
An absolute joke who scored 40 goals for England, played in three world cup final stages competitions and scored in two of those, played in the final stages of two Euros and scored in both, played for some of the most high profile clubs in the world like Liverpool, Real Madrid and Manchester United and won the Ballon d'Or.. You do seem to have a strange idea of what counts as an absolute joke!
Owen is a Great Goal, but I would put Gazza Vs Scotland at Number One. A goal of cheeky genius, and very rare. Got to say, not many amazing goals overall, and that John Barnes one isn't great at all, he didn't really go past anybody, just ran parallel to the back four. Maybe one or two of Linekers in 86 could fit in here, some good build up / teammplay.
CA VG Hahahahaha, yeah right Kane's goal gets on here. The vid is called 'best england goals' not 'best lucky deflections from a loftus-cheek shot the striker wasn't even aware of'
Why am I saying it's good if it don't get into the top 10. Just because it's good doesn't mean it should get there. And it was a good goal just not a top 10 goal or top 20 goal. Hence the reason I said that.
I feared the worst.. turns out not a bad selection... obviously 2 & 3 are more symbolic than actually good goals.. you let your self down there.. but 8 out of ten is an OK mark.
#2 While I admire the goal, it wasn't a foul so free kick shouldn't exist. England didn't legitimately qualify for that world cup. Sorry if the truth hurts
Harry Paps:...yeah, well with all the shit England have had go against us, we're due a bit of luck!!! Becks in 98 wasn't a red, in fact that other cheatin greasy arsehole who knocked him down from behind should've gone! How's about slimey ronaldo and his playacting for portugal, a first class wInker!!! And Lamps' goal all day long v the jerries which DID make it 2-2, such events alter matches, indeed, entire tournaments (and in some cases turn some tournaments into farce!!!) So don't give ME your bullshit about wat should or shouldn'tve been, as an Englishman, and a quite rightly very proud one at that, I'm a past master at the injustice of bein on the wrong end of a bad decision! The truth DOESN'T hurt ME! I wish it were MORE prevalent in refereeing decisions!!!
Michael Rawson I agree 100% on all those cases. Just to clarify I'm both English and Greek. The Argentina game in particular was devastating. Who knows how far we could've got had we not been robbed... I was 16 and remember literally every second of that game, including that Sol Campbell disallowed goal, which almost made me smash the tv. The reason behind my rant is more self-critical in nature, ie England underestimated the opponent (a team that, although admittedly played boring football, 3 years later went on to win the euro) thought they had it in the bag and were incredibly lucky to get away with it. There's no question which team had more talent and on that day failed to show it.
John Barnes. What a goal, out-Braziling Brazil. He was my favourite player growing up, absolute legend
Sorry I accidentally stole your comment😂
Great goal, assisted by some absolutely shocking defending.
That Owen goal is something else. The balance, the body feint, the composure in the finish ...
Owen had so much potential just got unlucky with injures.
I remember watching live, i'd thought he'd gone too wide, legendary
I remember that Joe Cole goal soo good!!!
Joe Cole one the most underated English players, I like that guy, he alway keeps a low profile.
Shame he was injured a lot. But was an awesome player
Not underrated
That Platt goal is actually underated
Their defending is terrible
James Gasparutti fr it was a great volley
Because he's an English player, people only care about Brazilian divers
Nobody in the world could have saved that. It's the best goal on this list.
Any list.
That was Italia 1990 WC against Belgium, England went to the semis against Germany & lost on Penalties
How nice to see goals from many eras not just the most modern.
I'm an England Fan and been around for most of these goals. There are a lot for more important but I still think David Platts goal is the best (technically) . To have it coming over your shoulder, defenders around you and an acute angle. GENIUS !
yes that should be number 1
Platts is unreal, the sweetest connection you could get
Offside
@ABarrellRoll not even close what are you on about 😂
Good line-up. Gazza v Scotland for me, straight after their missed penalty. The swing from depressed tension to delightful ecstasy was amazing.
It was voted the greatest goal ever scored at the old Wembley when the stadium was closed down.
Lampard vs Germany.... oh wait
Max Messer lol
Lmao crooked ref
:(
Too soon still hurts.
Dude 3 years later and that's still best comment ever
Bellingham's goal in 2024 euros should be included in here soon❤
bobby charlton's goal against mexico in 66 has always been my favourite goal. such an elegant player with a cannonball shot
Totally agree what a superb goal.
Much harder than it looks considering how hard the ball was
Cannonball shot off both feet too
That John Barnes goal. Wow !!! What a player he was.
decent rapper too
For Liverpool. Sadly, rarely turned it on for England.
John Barnes goal, outrageous!
The commentary on Owen's goal was as perfect as the goal!
Bobby Charlton’s goal was sheer poetry in motion.
I'll never forget the Owen goal. Little 18 year old wonder kid

Peter Peter griffin
Owen was something else shame he got injured all the time
Still my favourite. Maybe not the best (in the sense that others have been a shade better) but still my favourite.
Besting the argies
Joe Cole’s is easily top 5
One of the goals in the 5-1 v Germany should be in the top 10 imo. Either Gerrard's great strike to make it 2-1 just before HT. Or even Heskey's goal; great play between Beckham and Scholes to open up the German midfield before Heskey's super composed finish.
How john barnes was only a sub against Argentina in 86 is criminal
Number 1 and 2 are great and memorable but for pure skill, Platts over the shoulder volley is genius. Such a hard skill to master
Kevin Keegan goal vs Italy was awesome.
Can't argue with any of those. It would be nice to see something more recent though.
Best of best in football history

@@michaellavery4899 haha u gammy fuck
Platt goal was amazing
Gtreat list,well done👍👏👏
++ UPDATE ++ Bellingham and Watkins Euro '24.
They're all great but my fave in here is probably the Platt one.
The Owen goal vs Argies was absolutely incredible.
Most of you aren’t going to believe me but I went to Dubai 8 years ago and I met John Barnes and he coached me for the time I was there
The circumstances of some of these goals needs taking into consideration. Scoring a world class goal in a tournament far exceeds a friendly, and Charlton's, Owen's and Gasgoine's mongst the best
Add Bellinghams to that list too
“Oh, it’s a wonderful goal!” I totally agreed then and do so almost thirty years later…
Beckham’s goal in the Beckham vs Greece game was sublime, especially when you factor in the pressure.

How is the one from 1984 in mono and the one from 1966 is in stereo?
The Owen goal is awesome but I love the Beckham free kick just perfection. The goal keeper is like WTF just happened, he just stands there and watches it bend into the net..
England - The best football team ever.

Here when England are in the euro 2020 semi final
Cmon lad
Here when they're in the 2024 final.
Gazza Vs Scotland should have been no 1
Injuries did Owen dirty man
Great video! These goals make me so proud to be an England fan. Any chance of a Wales/Scotland/Northern Ireland version?
Jake Low basically uk
Everyone bangs on about "other" teams scoring brilliant goals - we've scores a few in our time :)
These really demonstrate how much speed of play we've lost these days
Rooney Buzzin Beçks God like Platey the timing Perfect
@0:32 "potentially protect their perfection"?
its coming home
it's coming......
Jimmy Sandwiches Football's coming home
Cahal Doherty I think you'll find it's not
DayneRoberts8 LFC GAWA ahhh another LFC from another country. Any chance you can support your own countries teams??
Colin Tatum the prem wouldn't be shit without foreigners you limey scunto
Trevor Brooking vs Hungary in the 80s is missing from the list. Ffs, the ball got jammed (literally) in the top corner!
Mu fav 3 goals from world. Cup
3 stones 2nd goal vs panama
2 lingards vs Panama
1 trippier vs croatia
Would put Gerrard vs Germany in there!
How bobby Charltons against Mexico is not number 1 is beyond belief. Arguably the greatest goal of all time
maybe if you are a complete idiot it is
Thanks for watching. Don't forget like, share and subscribe for more videos 👍👍👍
England will win the world cup every soon🏆🏆🏆
Its perfect
Good goals but info on the dates are incorrect for some
How Michael Owen went from this to an absolute joke can never be fully explained.
He was a great player in his prime for Liverpool he was even good for Madrid then injuries did him
An absolute joke who scored 40 goals for England, played in three world cup final stages competitions and scored in two of those, played in the final stages of two Euros and scored in both, played for some of the most high profile clubs in the world like Liverpool, Real Madrid and Manchester United and won the Ballon d'Or..

Rooneys first touch ❤

Joe Cole’s goal OMG 😮
Owen and Rooney🤩🤩🤩🤩
Nice shots
thanks
surprised at inclusion of some of these. some much better ones missed out!!
alan shearer freekick vs georgia in 97 anyone?
Rooney volley chalked off these days, for offside.
Imagine how gutting that would have been lol.
nice vid
thanks
michael lavery lol 2-1 England
I think the Bellingham goal has to be in this mix now, if nothing else because of the direness of what England were facing…
1.) John Barnes. 2.) Michael Owen. 3.) Gazza.
Maybe they should play this in the England camp ........ It may help
You gone from a decent goal at 10 to 9 absolute worldies
Euro 2015? Was that u21s? Does that really count?
Burns Night Euro 2016 should say - was a qualifier
John Barnes only number 6?
It was a weird time
No Geoff Hurst's hat trick goal in the world cup final 1966?
I bet Southgate wished he took WILTSHIRE to the World cup now?
I thought it was a mistake not having him in the squad.
Quality wise, Gazza’s was the best
Best celebration.
Agreed in terms of how good of a goal it was gazzas should be no 1
Bobby Charltons was
Michael Owen and the cole goal were epic also.
I remember the owne goal the most.
Not really. It was only Scotland.
Beckham vs Wales?
Such a shame that beckhams free kick had a dire piece of commentary over it arghhh
How was shearers goal on this list
J&J Bros team work
Lingard should be added to this
What about Kane's no-look backheel goal v Panama?
CA VG Hahahahaha, yeah right Kane's goal gets on here. The vid is called 'best england goals' not 'best lucky deflections from a loftus-cheek shot the striker wasn't even aware of'
Chris Somerville why should it be on here? Lingards goal was good but if we're being honest it wouldn't get into the top 20 let alone top 10.
Tom Brum if it doesn't get into top 20 or 10 then why u saying it's good then
Why am I saying it's good if it don't get into the top 10. Just because it's good doesn't mean it should get there. And it was a good goal just not a top 10 goal or top 20 goal. Hence the reason I said that.
Where is David Nugents goal
Surprised the Brazilians didn't fall down.
To me theres only one gazza v Scotland i was playing junior cricket at the time made 44 then haf to go off due to the noise when gazza scorec
Pause at 2:15 and see the captions
I'm so proud to be English
Trevor Brookings goal against Hungary should be in the top 5.
The one where the ball got stuck and lodged between the post and bar?
I feared the worst.. turns out not a bad selection... obviously 2 & 3 are more symbolic than actually good goals.. you let your self down there.. but 8 out of ten is an OK mark.
I find it really sad to think what players like wilshere and Owen could've achieved, obviously more so wilshere
No gazza?
No Ray Wilkins against Belgium?
Scandalous list to not include Ray Wilkins goal at Euro 1980
Not too sure about your order. Me gazza no 1 owen no 2 platt no 3 becks no 4
Gazza v Scotland '96?
Barnes goal was the best
Was Rooney offside?
Most definitely. I was only scrolling through the comments to see if anyone had mentioned it.
Take a look at John Barnes now lol.
They pass it sideways nicely these days.
