I've used a few but never tied one. Guess it is time to change that, huh? Thanks Matt. Stay warm!

Good morning Matt. ☕️. That was the first fly I was taught to tie. They said it taught you how split the thread and proportion between body, thorax and head. I remember the first ones I tied you’d have never got them tied on a tippet because I had crowded the eyes badly. Great fly and I haven’t tied one in a long time, perhaps it’s time. Take care Matt.

Pretty simple tie Matt. I've never tied one but I might give this one a go. I'm going to need some small flies to try and get some crappie and bluegill soon. Keep the good stuff coming,

Great tie Matt. Love that oval gold tinsel for tying this buggy nymph. The recipe I followed, way back when, for tying the GRHE didn't call for legs, just to pick or brush out the thorax. Gary Borger's website had an excellent piece on different types of dubbing loops. I haven't tried splitting thread yet.

One of the first flies I learned to tie. Haven't tied one in quite awhile, maybe never with a split thread so will give it a try. I have one bodkin I made with a small tip that works well for that. Thanks.
