    Good day. You think 1.5 inches good for everyday riding or 2inch better

    I have the lowering link for the back and will lower my gsxr650. I am thinking 1 to 1.5 inches. I am by no means a mechanic (lowered my previous bike though). But this is different, so I have a couple of questions: Is the lowering of the forks really necessary? And what do the straps and brackets do? Sorry, I require a bit more info. Great videos, helpful for sure! Thanks!

      you dont have to lower front forks. this bike is mainly setup for aggresive street riding but mainly drag racing. Front bracket gives a place for the strap to be mounted. The purpose of the strap is to further lower the front end when at the racetrack. main goal at track is the lowest possible to help prevent wheelie on the launch.

      Thanks so much for the reply. (Just seeing that)
      I put the lowering link in and added an adjustable kickstand. Still considering to do the forks. I was told there could be an effect on the chain when only lowering the back. 🤷🏼‍♀️ but your response makes sense. I do not race. But I also enjoy working on my bike and learning. So conflicting. Lol. Your videos are on point. Truly yours, a subscriber!

    Does it ride good on the street with the forks at 1.5 inch

      doesnt effect ride quality at all.

    Don't you run into clearance issues by sliding the forks by 1.5in through the triple trees? 1.5in seems too much, I can imagine the front fender touching the front fairing / lower triple tree under heavy braking...

    • @ninezunderracing641
      @ninezunderracing641  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      at 1.5inch drop no issues at all. still have about 2.5in of space. I lower the bike even further with the strap for track use to take out the remaining space.

    • @motozest7856
      @motozest7856 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You still have about 2.5in of space under heavy braking / total compression?

    • @ninezunderracing641
      @ninezunderracing641  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      full compressed with strap still half an inch of space.

    • @motozest7856
      @motozest7856 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ninezunderracing641 Sorry, but there's something wrong here... Fully uncompressed you have 2.5in of space and fully compressed you have 0.5in of space? Is that it? That would mean 2.0in of travel, yet the suspension travel on the 2017-2019 GSXR1000 is 4.9in...

      do i need to go measure this for you or something?? it was an estimate. i have no need to get a tape measure out and check exactly. ive been running this on both my 17gsxr1000 and my gf 17gsxr1000r without any issues. not rubbing or anything. idk about the factory specs. i know from real world experience.
      plus you dont strap it on the street. thats used for drag racing at the track only.

    Are the forks raised 1.5 inches total

    Sometimes I am glad not to live in the USA when I see something like that. It might be good for a drag race, or just straight roads, but for normal road traffic, especially in curves, it is life threatening. The whole handling of the bike changes to the negative and makes the bike unsafe. For example, if you are stopped by the police in Germany with such a motorcycle, the motorcycle would be confiscated on the spot and the operating license of the vehicle is immediately invalid. If the belts were such a great thing, the motorcycle manufacturers would sell them as an option and it would be allowed all over Europe.

      thanks for you input. not sure if you watched the whole video and heard i specifically mentioned the strap is for TRACK USE ONLY.
      in another reply i also mentioned lowering the bike more than 1.5 can effect handling and NOT to lower any further than that.

      You mean like they don’t stick those ugly ass tails on bikes when they could put nice low profile ones? Oh wait they do.. even though there is a better option...
