coco gordon moore was a HUUUUUUGE fan of the show.... and seeing as some of the writers and producers loved Sonic Youth, they invited them on the show.
Gilmore Girls is actually a very smart show that references ZILLIONSSS of insanely credible, worthwhile, genuine and intelligent bands, shows, movies, books, etc, etc, etc...(and some ironically awesome terrible ones!) I HIGHLY recommend it and if you are smart enough to catch everything you will see what I mean.
This may be the channel I’ve subscribed to the longest, way back when it was mostly sonic youth and pavement and gbv. A huge inspiration for what I do. I’ll never unsubscribe
@slackerVK nah, she plays, well she mostly sings, but yeah she plays. If you're referring to just the scene though, she might be mimicking, but the opening bass and guitar line is pretty straight forward so it's hard to tell.
@Caniballe Yeah, i think you're right, and you know what? Less than a second after I wrote my question, I said to myself: "well maybe that's not so weird because they have a daughter, and certainly they must have a television, and she must wacth all these shows, and maybe suddenly she went: "Mom and Dad, I wanna be in that show, would you let it happen and make my dream come true?" And they must have said "yes".
wait, what happens after the clip cuts off? itd be cool if Kim got in the old mans face and made that EW! sounds she makes on Eliminator Jr and then theyd just launch right into it...thatd be awesome...but yeah, someone post the rest of the clip...
Taylor telling Kim Gordon to stop jumping is one of my favourite TV moments of all times.
it's so sad to see this now that they've broken up :(
this isn't weird or bad at all. coco loved the show, it's sweet that they did this for her.
Literally.. Speechless. Had no idea sonic youth was on Gilmore girls!
They're not. It's just Kim, Thurston and some little girl
Coco

@@Dreamcatcher9000 th-cam.com/video/Xi3y0vFHUUA/w-d-xo.html Only problem is that they're described as grunge lol
the way Kim Gordon dances with the sound of the guitar riff/chorus really shows you she knows music 0:21
That's the stuff I love about the Gilmore Girls ❤️
I'm glad to see Coco plays.
This so strange that I remember this in 2021.

There they go ... making the nature scene, again!
I wonder how many of you having a go at them for appearing on Gilmore Girls have even watched the show. It's fucking great!
Thurston, Kim, you are rockin' parents, but there's no jumping in the town square.
My favorite episode of Gilmore Girls!
This is awesome
may the lord be with your decision
this remains the definitive live version of what a waste

@housecloud Yeap, you know? I think you're right
It's sad looking at this now that Thurston and Kim got divorced (were they already divorced when this came out tho?)
haha although i don't approve of them being on this, i still kinda enjoy knowing that they were on national TV doing their thing.
What’s the song
Thats the end of the episode.
