@@dthomaswilliamson33 I have no doubt that Claire gets her revenge on him slowly. Just a grain of arsenic in his food daily. Not killing him, just making him weak, needy, appreciative. It's a long con. She gets hers.

Lines like this remind me that more often than not, Jon is the true villain of the stories on this channel.
The art style screams Animal Crossing, even the fish and the digging spots look the same. I've just started the video and I'm liking the game already.
And the money rock.
The video doesn't do the pixelation effect justice--when I played it, the default setting reminded me heavily of Animal Crossing: Wild World on the DS.

I feel like Claire in real life keeps turning around whenever Jon says Claire, so she’s constantly just looking over.

This game cheated! It was all nice and charming. Then at the end, Claire gets a call from her Mom that was eerily similar to a recent conversation I've had with mine. And suddenly I'm crying. God damned game.

When he got the money from the rock with the shovel, I didn't realize that was an Animal Crossing reference until the main character mentioned it at the end.
Ahhh, so this was the game Jon talked about while mentioning adding it to the list of best games of the last year :) everything is clear now!

It is slowly dawning on me that this game is using animal crossing aesthetics and possibly mechanics and I'm gradually getting more excited
Ohh, that ending. It brings back memories of being stuck at scout camp while my dad ended up in the hospital. Spending days trying to get a call through the one phone at the camp to try to find out how he's doing...
Archipelago: "a group of small islands or an area of sea in which there are many small islands". Yes Jon, that ridge you just got up on is definitely an archipelago.
John: "This is so damn wholesome!"
Literally the next line in the game: "There's a graveyard in the shadow of the mountain."
By the way, the red headband questline was incredibly wholesome and made me feel so many warm fuzzy feelings :)
This is the most wholesome and adorable thing. I need more of this in my life.
When the pixelation is at it's default level, it looks like a DS game and I love that.
Jon, you're really missing out on not buying the scalper's golden feathers. It's worth the five minutes of going back and checking out their story.
And to anyone else picking this up, continue exploring the island after hitting the peak, it's a pleasant experience and Jon absolutely missed a couple of cool things.

The first thing I thought of when I saw that intro was “FAITH”, and then I realised I literally could not be more wrong.
Isn’t that a horror game? Or maybe it was the “what I’m about to do has not been approved by the Vatican” one?

You know, this isn't generally my sort of game, but I turned it on and just... watched. And next thing I know I've been watching for an hour, and I feel really chill right now. So... yeah. I'm glad I clicked on this one.

This game made me cry! My mom had a very similar experience right before covid hit. She told me about the surgery, but she didn't tell me what they found during it until way later. She says she didn't tell me about the cancer or that she was on chemo while I was at school because she didn't want me to worry. Thankfully, she's doing really great now. All her test results are coming back perfect and she's been done with chemo! She actually got off just in time for her immune system to handle getting vaccinated :)
My short hike was going to my best friend's house and watching Star Trek with him while I cuddled with his dog. Not quite the same, but this game did make me feel those same sort of bittersweet emotions, which is why I cried. Thank you for sharing this experience with us

This looks too charming to not stop watching now and buy it so I can experience it myself.
Great game, nice playthrough. I do have a slight criticism, in that to really hear the music, I had to turn the volume up significantly... which would be fine, except at that level, my whole house could hear what you were saying. I'm sure there are a bunch of secrets still hidden in the game. It rewards exploration just the right way; I'm always curious to see what's around the next corner. A peaceful, enjoyable experience.
...I do actually feel a little cleaner just from watching.
What a lovely game. Last time I felt emotions like that was during of Last of Us, especially the DLC. - Won't spoil it as Jon hasn't played it yet, I can't wait to see when he does the series before Last of us 2 comes out.

The similarities between Claire's reaction to her mother not telling her she's getting surgery hit really close to my own mom not telling me she was getting cancer surgury. The feels are strong with this one.

I'm absolutely amazed that the 'max pixelation' setting Jon is playing on is "not recommended" and hidden in the advanced section. The standard pixelation looks absolutely terrible. 😯
