FINALLY! My in-home salon tour. I'll be showing you my salon and how much some of my equipment costed just to show you it's possible and inexpensive! If starting an in home salon is something you want to do, I encourage you to do it! (I forgot to show ya'll my steamer) I got it from ebay for about $100 (or less, I forgot).

Hi I'm Tierra: licensed cosmetologist, wife, mom, entrepreneur and college student. I have an in home salon located in Grand Blanc, Michigan. I have a passion for helping women along their healthy hair journey. My goal is to spread hair education and beauty around the world. TH-cam is a channel for me to be able to do that. OMG! I was having issues with the shampooing thing so I stop doing that in my house, which took money away from me, but that is a great idea getting that Ridgid Vac and getting the pump will make it so much easier with the hair residue. I cant seem to find the pump anywhere, I know where I can buy the shop vac. I too am a " licensed stylist, I live in an Apt. Any ideas as to where to find a pump?
Do you get health inspection at home? Do you have do make your at home salon business legal? I ask becuz I'm buying a house and I have a Den room with separate door and I would like to work from home. Yes I have my cosmetology license

Not sure what's required for all states... But when you're servicing clients utilizing chemicals ... You need a Salon license, a Cosmetology License, possibly a permit for the property, and a Business License. You can actually google what's required in (your state) to have an in home salon. Usually it wilp bring up the requirements for your state.
Also when having an in home salon... If you have the real sit down dryers with the chair connected. They usually require you to have a certain amp for your power outlets. It's a lot trying to be legal at home and hey we're just trying to make an honest living without having to pay overhead cost for going into a commercial property.
I specialize in the health of our natural hair. I don't deal with chemicals and in my state.. When doing natural hair... I don't believe I required to have all that but to advertise with signs on my property (my front and back yard) a permit is required

I just wanted to share with you if you want less equipment to drain the water. I don't know how loud Your vacuum thing is.. but I have the portable shampoo bowl also and I have a trash can a black one the hose goes into and then I have a pump like a pond pump in the trash can and it pumps it in my kitchen sink to. But its not as loud as I think a vacuum would be. Just thought I'd share. I have got good ideas from You!

Awesome Portable Shampoo Bowl with hot water heater, and tanks for fresh water and draining... You just have to keep refilling the fresh water tank and emptying the drain tank. Not the BEST as in having a real s. Bowl conmected to plumbing, but it works and gets the job. Just try to purchase without financing.

Wy dont you gett some ikea closets to set your product in. I think they call Billy .They will make the room look more pro and clean looking.
They have glass so you can stil see the products.
Good idea but I've wasted so much money on so many cabinets so I'm done buying any more lol. But I plan to have a building soon so I'll definitely look at ikea then. Thank you!!

With the Rigid Wet Vacumm, is the water pumped out into the sink during the shampoo or is it done after the shampoo? I was wondering if the vacuum filled up to its capacity during the shampoo and then you flipped a switch to pump out the water afterwards.
What size wet vacuum would you recommend? Is it necessary to use that size or could it be smaller?
